  1. Make good means it serve its function. They are employed for hacking only right? So they make good the hole and the wall means just make sure they serve its function. If you need extra good, like flat, smooth, etc, have to specify and need to pay extra one. Sealant and plastering is normally done by painter. How much did you pay? psf?
  2. No lah, economy is bad, IKEA cut cost, want to wait for many more stocks to run out before they bulk ship (cheaper to ship in bulk)
  3. Do you have any pictures of the design or pattern, because it is hard for us to visualize without the pic.
  4. From a previous thread they say: Hair is not the biggest worry, it's the algae and soap scum, on the base and on every pebble! Here's what I have googled: Pebble floor is very porous and traps food and other microbial contaminants. These types of floors should be cleaned with the proper antimicrobial soaps to suppress microbial action. Cleaning should be done with rotary power scrubbing and then a high pressure steam rinse and vacuum dry. You can also do an anti-microbial and deodorizer application. Hope it helps
  5. Yes I agree with what kthc said. Sometimes, if you pressed or squeeze too much they will give unsatisfactory work. Just imagine your boss or client squeezing you, you would feel happy right? and the work you would give 100%.
  6. Probably will slowly turn into "dirty look" if not taken care of properly.
  7. How about using wall paper to cover it up? At least from the interior view, it will look good and lasting. That's the part I don't understand about women .... I am using a bar soap for my face since I am young and I don't see any adverse effect as compared to my college who go for expensive facial, make-up, treatment etc ... When I was young, I used to think there are something in these expensive facial wash that will create more problems on your face so that you have to keep buying more "remedies" from them.
  8. Wah ... that buyer will laugh to the bank in 5-10 years (provided he don't take a loan for this)
  9. I think Loymcdg is too stress, only 1 post to tell us the problem and left us wondering what happen. All we can do now is to pray that he/she will be fine and everything go smoothly after that post.
  10. My mother always say best floor is the 2nd top floor. Like what you say, I think there is less direct sun light from top also.
  11. Yes. Honestly, it is very lay chey especially for those older generation contractors who knows the price by heart and don't use computer. Normally quote lump sum based on experience. (which at times more accurate than those who list down the items) Different generation bah, if you make them break down the price list into small details they feel that you don't trust them ah.
  12. If you install one already must put a pic here!
  13. I have rented 2 water jet spray to clean roof top from cleaning company before So you can try same strategy and call varnishing company to see whether can they rent you their polish machine. That's what wood filler is for right? fill holes.
  14. Got this List from SB forum Tiles For Premium, there are tiles laid already, so you have to check for all the tiles. You have to knock each of them which either keys or coins, the you hear whether is it hollow. The sound is very obvious if it is hollow. You also have to check or cracks on the tiles. (Includes wall, floor, kitchen, toilet) You can also check for any 'pop' up tiles or uneven tiles laid. Doors You then can check on all your doors, whether is it easy to close and open, whether the hinges of the door is secure properly, any missing screws, check the door closure, the door knob, check the door for any cracks, if its wooden door see if there are any chipped offs. Windows For windows, also check for any missing screws, any hinge not secure properly. Also check whether there are any defects on the windows, the glass panel (any cracks or scratches) Walls For walls, you can check for any cracks, any holes. You can also check for the levelling of your floor. For example, if you pour water on you floor, will it flow very fast downwards, or in your kitchen, or toilet.. If there are no gradient in the toilet, it means the water might not flow fast enough to the floor trap.. and might result in 'flood' next time you bath. Also check for water proofing, any seepage through the tiles in the toilet. Electrical Check all the power points, see if there are any cracks on the casing. If there are, ask them to change, becuse you don't want to be resulted in any short circuit, or electricution. If there are hanging wires, check that they are not damaged. Check all the light switches, check for cracks, check if they are easy to on and off.
