sorry to all who replied, i will respond soon. dunno why been having this headache from last night till this morning. wasnt online last night cos went to sleep at 9+ after checking on the house. Day 3 - plastering of walls and cementing the kitchen area + waterproofing the toilets (I think..) the progress from yesterday seems slower. to my understanding, they need to remove the naco windows from my toilets prior to laying of tiles, so far not done yet. uncle didnt ask me what color i want for windows and just went ahead to say bronze color. after thinking about it, i decided i dont want bronze, told him dont order as i wanted silver to match the white tiles better. he said he will talk to me today to finalize these things as well as talk about carpentry. i am to be the last person he meets today and he says need 2 hours to go over everything with me. i hope he comes earlier. P.s: my kitchen floor tiles are wrong! i think uncle got it mixed up or the company got it wrong. uncle sounds like he cant remember the tiles when i called him but i dont expect him to remember. will discuss this with him. i am supposed to get the same floor tiles as familyof4. pictures in a little while.

on yr l-box qns, i was quite blur when uncle said do l-box to hide pipings cos to me l-box = with downlights meaning its for lighting purposes. i think i will forgo l-box lights and buy floor lamp to save elec, or is that even more energy consuming? as for wallpaper, he has not discussed the tv console with me. he wants to come on thurs, i dunno how my cramped flat gonna fit him n jason with me n mom to discuss. hardly any space to walk. feels like im living in HK.

Day 2 of reno - more hacking and tiles arrived Sorry no pictures cos my house is pitch black and my wirings are in a mess! uncle promised to wrap up my lights and ceiling fan. i have been nagging at him since day 1 but no work done. i shall convey my wishes to ah heng directly. i really want them to wrap it least i have problems with stains and stuff. then it will be more work to rectify that. the maxim prevention is better than cure will be applicable here. what i see in my dark dark house now is a pile of sand in the kitchen, my tiles have been delivered. supposed to check but i cant with no lights. have yet to tell ah soon how to stick the tiles but it is pretty straightforward, but i rather take the extra effort to ensure all is correct then to go thru more trouble to rectify later. they have yet to plaster my walls in the other rooms yet. and i found this odd hole in my kitchen wall! its not supposed to be hacked!! must ask uncle tmr. purple_tulip agreed. most of the reno are for 4 - 5 rooms also mansionettes. i hope mine turns out fine. adrian well he's not that elusive anymore! hahah i think its better that way. i feel like he's some star and we are his little managers. about the dong tu, i was just kidding. the wall is meant to be hacked. i did not do any symbolic hacking so i am not sure. gotta ask ivy, she did the hacking. i have the current lookbox annual borrowed from my workplace. not sure if the latest copy of lookbox will be sent to my office. but by the time they sent, think my reno is over. think i will just have to buy it. growler i dont know if italian brands are good for asian cooking hence looking at rinnai. just wanna hear some comments or user reviews first before deciding. hows the flame for EF? btw, i hardly see EF at jalan besar. mostly rinnai, hobz, ellane, tecno and things like that. ivy hope my house can contribute to his mini online portfolio! but i dont see the link to the facebook page on your signature, u have the link? cannotisit tecno is singaporean brand. i done my homework on them, their uno range is made in china while the rest are made in italy. but not that keen on them cos their designs are not very eye catching. happiness.. they carry turbo right? was at the showroom and the lady mention they are under turbo. any reviews on that? trying to see if uncle can get the package for me at a cheaper rate for rinnai. if not i will just have to get something else. pet ya u missed day 1 only, not to worry. they are speedy, but my house is small. so its ok. poor workers. they kept asking my mom for water. but we are both away at work mostly so my mom left a kettle of water for them, hope that is enough. but seriously i dont think it is. and i am sure glad that we rented the place next door. my mom is starting to itch too. and she has it worse than me. apples thanks and yes its really fast! im quite surprised at the speed. they cleared the debris for the whole house today. your package from asia excel, is the hob and hood from rinnai? how about your oven? did u get one? sounds like a good deal. is the sink a double bowl? sorry but may i know where is asia excel?? i got the price individually as well as the package. now just need to ask uncle if he can get cheaper. if can i will leave it to him so we can save more.

familyof4, ivy i dont even have the slightest inkling of what to expect when it comes to tv console & everything else. a little scary. like blindfolding you and getting u to feel around. but i suppose you are right, if i keep fussing, soon my hair is gonna fall off. i think uncle quite scared of me. keep telling me relaxing dont be so strung up, still early! im like... no cannottttt!!

hahaha i think like that uncle cannot escape me much! my unit is just next to the rented one! unless he crawls to get to my place else its quite impossible. i feel like doing the same, rushing over from tanjong pagar (office) to home (bugis, waterloo st) just to have a look during lunch. so exciting! and i dunno how u guys do it, manage to go on RT, take care of reno, take care of family and still do housework. as it is, just managing reno and housework is killing me, sometimes so lazy to go on RT.

mrspiglet actually! i dunno about that. just that since the tilers mentioned this and when uncle came and i told him about it, he did not object, i think it's fine. ya i found it quite neat, something like a design somehow. for kitchen, both myself and mom will cook. comparatively, i believe we are one of the heavy cookers here, we cook on avg 4 - 5 days in a week. there are days where we will cook everyday of the week but it just simple home cooked fair, mostly stir frying / frying and nothing much with deep frying. now that we are getting an oven i can whip up some baked rice and stuff! maybe shepard's pie too. yummy! u will not believe my mom. initially when i tried to sit her down to find out about the kitchen's requirements from her, she just said, oh whatever they do and the outcome of it, she will just use it. i was all into designing workspace based on our workflow yet she is so happy go lucky about it. if i really let her have her way i bet if she finds that if any part is not to her liking, she will blame it on uncle. which is not fair to him. so i am having a good time pouring over magazines and websites for ideas. and of cos i just wanted to know the price difference of blum and the one he provides as a gauge but he offered FOC to me so.. okay!! ahaha ok last point about the toilet, we'll just use it. my mom has not much comments on it so we will just get it. suddenly reminded me that i should have some kind of rack to serve as magazine rack or sthing. bet my mom will scream and say i waste time in the toilet.

pinklady that's our mountain of things to throw! there are some that we have not packed but most are to throw. those packed in boxes are chucked into our rented unit which feels like a garang guni's house. i need my place by 28 may as im currently renting the unit next to mine for this entire time. familyof4 i think the reason it's fast cos there's just so many rooms to hack, my house is really small compared to yours. i think my house is just half of your mansionette? or 3/4? so u can imagine. yea he must be since today is when growler's start.

Im just a little confused with what's what. so if i am not fussy i can just get the tracks right? tandembox is the entire drawer right? so confusing. oh my house has no kiddies anymore and my cousins are all grown up. but my guy cousins are too strong for my old house. one of them spoilt my iron gate and 1 of the switches. think he pressed too hard so the switch is a little off now. so if that is the case, are you considered lifting up a lot? i enquired with chuan heng ytd, soft closing cover is $20/pc so if it spoils, i think it's still a reasonable price to pay for replacement.
