sounds like my situation.. leave taken but pointless. i hope u get it resolved soon! guess u need to chase uncle and pls tell uncle what happened so he can talk to the workers. like me, the workers scratched my sink and cooker hood.

oh hohoho im sure he has seen the tiffs between me and my mom at some points of the reno. no worries, in due time i will have to call uncle. its just a matter of when. i need to chase him.. eventually.

ya pls do if u can. i heard from elder goh that u are the smartest, cos u read our tblogs, identify who is good and request for them! must go to your open house!! im kinda tired chasing cos it has been delayed from one week to the next and the next next. and uncle said he is busy with HO but i understand he is also getting new biz. a bit disheartening to know that when my house is not 100% complete and he is getting new biz. biz must go on but at least settle the final rectifications.. i think he is scared of me.

not yet, currently am waiting for the tiles to be settled this sunday followed by next week when ah di will move in with the new carpentry and rectify whatever he needs to. yet 2 more weeks of enduring with boxes on the floor and cluttered house.

woah ur story kinda like mine as in call and call then drag but no action. this is getting bad for uncle. and it is due to jason and the carpenter mis-comm that led to my wrongly done up tv console. wa buey tahan but uncle was sheepish and admitted the mistake so i just accept it. he told me he will deduct a bit off the tv console but ask me to fix the price myself. such a difficult position for me. luckily my issues are not so major. my door frame is also like urs, unevenly painted but not as bad as yours. i got sick of telling them to do it, i just requested for can of paint and i will neaten it myself once everything is over. so how are things going on for you now? i have semi given up chasing uncle for my stuff. i will just call him after this week or sthing.

its quite a fair bit and i dont know who to ask. so far the carpentry uncle ask me to tell ah di what i like/dont like/needs changing. the tiles i spoke to elder goh. my plastering at some places not too good as well, and some areas need to touch up on paint. i still need to ask for my cutlery tray (hence dare not post pic of my kitchen cos my kitchen top is so cluttered!) and also curtain rods. so far at ikea the rods are 100++ cm long but i only need about 56cm. i asked uncle if i can buy it elsewhere and he said he get it for me but of cos, so far no news nothing. :/ some of my switches no covering. got to dig out time to buy it at jalan besar and install in back myself. dont want to wait anymore. so u must chase since he is still around yr place!!

whats wrong with the tv console?? i chose my laminates already. black n white for living room. now thinking if i can introduce a feature colour but i will see how. Update too sian to call uncle to chase him. my house is kinda still 70% undone with the pending carpentry. still have some rectifications outstanding but like i said, too sian to call him to chase him since he is busy with others. less blogging from me now till house is straighten up and 2nd round carpentry is up. party postponed indefinitely!

Lol! ya i agree with u on the rectifications part. but i think they cant do much about it till they re-structure to be really efficient. so far i have not seen him at all and i give up calling him since he is busy with others even though my house is quite incomplete. -_- too sian to call and chase liao. fannie, if u have rectifications pls really hog him to go thru with him. if not u wont see him anymore. and hor u all **** cute. from digi-lock spiral until everyone also want. i ask qns, if u can use ez link card to enter and if u forgot to bring wallet out then how? im still old fashion, simple lock will do. must be that way for my mom also, if not everyday i will see her outside the house when im home.

ya i think i will take some time today or tmr to knock the tiles. this weekend is totally packed, practically no time at all. i foresee next weekend i have to stay home to wait for the carpentry to be up. no time again!

elder goh chatted with me for half an hour ytd about the tiling issue. i dont know about hollow tiles since i have not checked but i have lots of uneven tiles. he did not explain that but the constant walking on freshly laid tiles makes sense. dont worry!!! im ok, in fact happy that ur works went smooth. i dont really want to keep calling uncle too, think he is scared of me. a pity i cant go since this weekend they are coming to fix up my tiles.

actually u are right about the tiling as in, there were lots of people walking all over and stepping on the tiles. I believe my wall tiles in kitchen were much better since the drilling came in much later. to be honest, i did not check for hollow tiles much. the master tiler is good but i believe the constant walking around on the tiles does affect it and im guilty of walking on it too! on hindsight i should have asked for perhaps a 1 & 1/2 month stay to give uncle ample time to do the job. pity i did not. well what's done is done so just gotta make the best of the present situation. and fannie, i will be pian xin to you the moment i see your adorable kids!! esp your boy. too cute already!!

have to agree that yrs is one of the smoothest with good workmanship to boot. uncle pian xin ni and your ke ai kids.

well its an L shape where my windows are for the living room. still not really 100% sure if i want to have it 1m tall or just 850mm tall. any suggestions? the other L will coincide with my sofa and that is where the settee is, for guests to sit! sure hope it works out. tmr meeting with ah di to refine the carpentry discussion we have.

wa i hope ah di is as good. just realised i kinda missed out on posting my semi completed place. im doing a seatee joined up with the shoerack in an L shape. sure hope its good.

(very poor workmanship). subsequently the polish team will come in to polish all the tiles to get rid of the wax on the tiles. think the carpentry will be delayed to next sat. more time for me to pick around in this case!!!

i spoke to jason today to ask him abt my tv console measurements for wallpaper. i think its quite sad somehow when brothers fall out like that. oh well, no comments on this since i know nth much and its their own issue. ya i mention to him about my WC/bath tiles, some tiles very uneven cos 1 of the tilers, workmanship very very jialat. i already close one eye for my toilet walls. its the floor that is bad plus its slippery. he said he will change for me. very nice of him,very lucky for me. ya he told me the same, call him. so guess i wont call joseph since there's a rapport between elder goh and me. he's more responsive and just as friendly.

ya quite paisei when he called me that. i think he could hear that i was fuming cos i called uncle at 10+am to confirm the ppl coming to polish my tiles and to notify there's tiles that has got the cut leg feeling. then at 2+pm i called to us he said cannot. wow i was really fuming. cos push back from last week to this then now push again. >.< uncle say call back but never. got so many things half done hanging there. >.< called elder goh to see if he can do anything for me and he did!and when he called me that xiao gong zhu i was like waaaaah.

some other laminate ideas for the bookcase. white is the theme so that i can match it more closely to the existing wardrobe. i thought it will be too boring for everything to be the same, but consistency is a good thing. torn between the two choices. re cap on the laminate used for the wardrobe. the laminate will be the same as well for my study table surface. any inputs, as usual, are welcome!

Updates again pretty pretty wrought iron gate! both myself and mom is happy with it! nice design and goes with our door. i want to try asking ah hock if we can spray it white. there's grilles too, but i forgot to take a pic. chosen the laminate for my shoe rack, it is the black one on the left. i was thinking of using the one on the right for my book case but was wondering if it might look too clashy. still playing around with the possibilities the glossy white laminate that i thought to be used for the shoe rack drawer and swing out door surface for a contrast, as well as for the drawers for my study table. just hope that it will not overpower the main laminate used for the study table. perhaps i can look at a dark colour for greater contrast. back up option number 2: if glossy fails, i will go for matte.

ya looking at pics its fine. are u having same probems in terms of cut leg feeling, uneven bits sticking out everywhere?
