growler!! pls dont KP uncle first. bcos it is just sticking of tiles and the workers all know we rented the place next door and we have to vacate by 28 may so they speed up for me. plus over the weekend it was just tiling which is relatively quiet u see. just dont want u to KP uncle till u understand.. the master tiler is also a very nice man. he knows that with every delay, ah soon will suffer losses so he hurry the works for him. its a very good r/s they have. its like.. "loyalty" to me. and master tiler works quietly cos if any loud noises police are liable to come over to stop the works and i heard they will fine uncle $2k. i was quite touched by his sensitivity and care for his boss.

Quick Update! Fri / Sat / Sun (8 - 10 May) I am very surprised to see workers on Sat & Sun! The master tiler said that he saw our date of HO is on 28 May and he is afraid that the job can't be complete on time so he can back on Sat which was a PH and even Sun. The 2 other chinese workers also came in to help, but their attitude, not so good. 1 of them had a minor argument with the master tiler over a small issue. and he did not bring any tools, had to keep taking it (tape measurement, pen knife etc) from master tiler. which got him very annoyed. the other guy is still not too bad, albeit i find him slow. Over the weekend, the tiling of my toilet has started, as well as the kitchen wall tiles. plastering of my living room has been completed as well. On Sun we went over to Asia Excel and purchased out hob/hood as well as kitchen sink/toilet bowl/basin etc with them. did not buy a built in oven to shave costs. perhaps i will get a portable oven in the future. pictures shortly.

is it full hd or hd ready? what do u want it for? just watching tv? or using as computer monitor? if its 32", a hd ready model will be fine.

Day 3 - waterproofing of toilets more plastering

met uncle earlier just now. quite a bummer. thought he was going to discuss carpentry or sthing. turns out he only came to look at progress. well no complains at least he bothers to come and see for himself the pace of work. got to wait for the windows for my bath/WC to come in before they start on the tiling. the major works completed today includes leveling the walls for my kitchen wall tiles as my walls are very uneven, uncle said its very scary how uneven it was. from spreading || cement to | | this much. wa ivy very kind of u!! and your bathroom tiles are really nice! u got it from SL or LSH? i didnt see those.. looking at your tiles makes me feel like changing mine. and i was telling uncle i think i want white frames for my windows, but he said not very good for me cos i have a corridor right outside, he said if anyone scratches my windows, the white color will come off. oh no how! dilemma now. should i still get white or get the standard silver color? or can i half it? white on the inside for me to enjoy, silver on the outside to have it scratch-proof? must check with uncle.

hahaha bout the drinks my mom left an entire pot of water for them, along with some 6 packs chrysanthemum tea. but feel quite odd, dont they bring their own water? cos me and mom are out of work mostly so we are not at the ready to supply with water. in this kinda heat doing this kinda work, i can only imagine how parched 1 can be. and today they turned on my ceiling fan. hope its not an every day affair if not i have to pay for PUB bills from both flats. think me and my mom will faint from the bills.

just a note on fans, make sure the lights are within the circular area of the fan. if not the lights will be cut by the fan. and u might get a headache.

gulp.. my kitchen windows is bronze color. we're not changing it to save $$. so whole house windows changed but that. everything in powered white but my kitchen window.

okay decided to go ahead with white! uncle called me during lunch to ask me. i said my first choice is white. if no white then silver. just not bronze!

actually about the tiles, i would rather not do wall tiles and just paint. its my mom who die die insist on wall tiles after getting psycho-ed. in my chinese quote from uncle, the quote to do wall tiles is a whooping $2.4k! his quote for copper piping is $1k. actually on its own, it is ex. but the final total is reasonable. so i just dont bother with the nitty gritty and just overall quote. oh wells.

they took down my light in the room already. the other one they wrapped with newspaper. funny how i must call uncle to tell him to tell them. i did tell them i need it to be wrapped up for me. later got to ask uncle again. so many things to ask. hope i rmb.

ok let me call uncle later during lunch to ask him about my windows. i know i come across as kan cheong but i share ivy's view: prevention is better than cure.

my tiling still not done! they are taking such a long time to plaster! so far ytd i only see 1 side of the wall plastered in each room. today they are working on the ceiling. i hope they dont mess up my ceiling fan and lights! wont want uncle to pay to replace or spend more time to clean it. as it is my wirings and light switches have some cement on it.

regarding the windows, i am scared that the white will turn yellow! he said the other colors no stock must wait for 2 weeks and i know they cant tile without installing windows. oh no i must make them dig it out for me! if no white at least give me silver, just not bronze! even black i will accept. later gotta stress him. rondy: ya i asked uncle if need to pay extra for white he said dont need. guess thats really lucky!!
