You can ask your contractor to put the silicon under the edges of the sink rather than around the edges of the sink. In Australia, all overmount sink do not have silicon around the edges of the sink. All the silicon is under the edges of the sink.

I just realise that is a liitle confusion over the entire bidet spray. So here is the explaination:- My plumber tells me that the bidet spray can be installed in the bathrooms. He managed to locate the pipes by "kocking" the tiles & also chit chatting with the other plumbers who have worked on The Pinnacle resident's homes. In fact, there is a quite a few The Pinnacle residents who have install the bidet spray. Also its not messy at all (I saw a unit in Blk 1G after its done). After they destory the tiles to fixed the bidet spray, they will replace the bathroom tiles, so it looks brand new BSC will give you the supplier for the bathroom tiles, if you are interested. Initially I thought its was against the HDB policy (something to do with water proofing), so unfortunately, I have not done it as I am still considering it. The good news is that Shelby spoke to the Techical officer of P@D, Ms Lee (6248 6432) to ask her if we are allowed to hack a few tiles in the bathroom. Ms Lee said its possible to hack the bathroom wall tile to make an opening for the pipes as wall tiles do not need waterproofing, only floor tiles are no allowed to hack. So will get my plumber to get it done & post pictures on my reno blog.

I may not be very good at explaining this so bear with me... Under mount means the sink is mount under the counter top, so you will not see the edges of the sink. Over mount means the edges of the sink is mounted the conventional way i.e. on top of the solid counter top.

I don't know the distance but your contractor/ID should know how to advise you. Dennis did the calculations for us & move the original "hole" for the fan. There are no shadows.

Thanks for the advise My contractor said the same thing so I chose off-white

Apologies for not having much updates. I am pretty hands off with my reno as I trust Dennis completely (so far, at least). He has not disappointed us with his meticulous nature, his honesty & his willingness to put extra brain matter to work out solutions for us when we are unhappy/uncomfortable about something. So far, its mostly pretty minor, like the colour of my bomb shelter (cos I choose the colour Cotton White instead of "normal" white) or the drainage piping in the master bedroom. As such I do not have any photos to show at this moment. But I know that Dennis is getting the all the lights up by today as I ask the electrician to go home on Saturday since his son has an accident. Dennis is also sourcing another type of exhaust fan as requested by my hubby today. Carpentry should be done by this week or latest Feb 08. I just hope that the laminates we chose for the Living/Dining & Kitchen matches with the walls in our house & the laminates we chose for our wardrobes matches with our doors. Wish me luck! I will try my best to go to our new home this weekend to take some photos but we are having a garage sale this Saturday to try to sell off our teak table & teak chairs among other things, so a million apologies if there are no photos downloaded this weekend!

Which piping? The aircon? All the aircon trucking & piping are hidden by capentry or by blending into the wall & painted over. Only the hot water & gas pipes in the kitchen are exposed. Dennis will box it up in white to match with the kitchen tiles. I have seen my neighbours place, who did the same thing, quite good cos you don't see a thing! So I am pretty happy with the end results So am ok with the pipes for now. Its the pipes at the yard that I am peeved about. So no choice but to paint it white.
-
I am not sure as Dennis bought it for us. Its around $60 or $70. Why? You wanna buy it off me
-
Yah! She can be very daring! We can be very relax with her so at times she tends to try her luck but we set very clear boundaries with her & tells her straight in her face if she gets out of hand. So far, she tries with sleeping times, acts blur when she spoilt something, yaks on the phone non stop . But otherwise, she is good. She has a good heart (so far) that even the cat bullies her at times.

I am fine with it actually If I paint the bathroom frame white it will not be the same as the rest of the house. And I can't paint the rest of the frames white as its against HDB policy. Its not so crucial for me
-
Dennis bought it for me at $165. It is a contractor's price. So get your ID/contractor to buy it for you. Otherwise, it will be more pricey. In fact, Capital Distributors (official distributors of KDK fans) quoted me $220! Crazy!

Nice! Where did you bght it?

Anyone Knows / Uses Feng Shui Master - Clarice Georgia Victoria Chan
fftw replied to choppy's topic in Geomancy/Fengshui
I have been using her for years! And several of my friends whom I introduced are also using her services. She also does Feng Shui for offices & write a monthly column in a women's mag (I think its women's weekly) and also has her yearly book -
The bathroom window frame is provided by HDB so unfortunately I have no choice in this matter

Exhaust Fans in the Bathrooms Remember we wanted the exhaust fans in the bathrooms to ensure that we don't start having fungus in our fake ceiling in the bathroom? Dennis took the glass out so that he may cut out the "hole" for the exhaust fan. This is how the installed KDK fan looks like in the bathrooms, before all the power connections are fixed. However hubby does not like the look of it so we are thinking of changing it. What do you think?

Our KDK Fans are Up The colour of the fans will match the colour of our laminates in the Living/Dining rooms & Kitchen (I hope!) KDK Fan Box Some KDK Fan Remotes - I have a total of 5 The FINAL Product

Let there be LIGHT - Finally our Main Bedroom Before After
-
Let there be LIGHT - Bedroom 2 This is our daughter's room. Its slightly bigger than bedroom 3 (very, very slightly bigger). It will have a wardrobe. The cove lighting will be above the wardrobe (the shorter cove lighting is where the wardrobe is located) and along the window like in Bedroom 3. Before After
-
Let there be LIGHT! Almost... Yesterday was the day where the entire house will be filled with lights Unfortunately there was an "accident" with my electrician's son. To cut a long story short, we went back to the house at 6 pm thinking that we can now see how pretty our home will be awashed with the beautiful warm of the cove lighting. However, when I stepped into the house, I was a little peeved when I noticed that the windows in my living room was open. When we investigated further, I noticed that our electrician's tools were still in the house & the snack we bought + the "rubbish" was still in the house. So maybe our electrician when out for a little break?!? After about 10 mins, our electrician & his son, who was helping him all day, came back to the house. Then I noticed that the poor little boy's left foot was bandaged from the ankle to the tip of the large top! What happened? Our electrician told us it was just a small cut. A small sut that required such a large bandaged + medication from the clinic?!? Electrician just smile grudging and went back to work. The poor boy was in obvious pain, so hubby & I "forced" our electrician to finish work some other time. Both he, his son & us are relief he took our advise. So hubby & I left for the day, while our electrician insist on doing some small touches. Today when we went back to the new home again (cos I forgot to take photos for this blog), we realised that our electrician clean up good, including removing all the debris of boxes & snacks & even sweep the floor! He is such a responsible guy Anyway here are some before and after photos. Hope it gives you some inspiration. Before of Bedroom 3 This bedroom will not have a wardrobe. It will be use as hubby's temporary office till baby No. 2 arrives in year 2011 (yes, we are planning!) After of Bedroom 3

She will not wash any dishes if she is paying the utilities! She will just wipe! Its not that she is good at utilizing resources, its that she is so crap at washing dishes at times i.e. she doesn't use elbow grease to wash that our plates sometimes still have food residue on it! So hubby can't tahan and told her to use hot water (he is used to wash dishes with hot water since young as that is the way the Aussies does it). He told her that if hot water still cannot wash plates properly then we will sack her. Since then no major problems but I am pretty strict & constantly check my pots, pans, dishers, etc.
-
Thanks for making me feel better She is quite spoiled by my hubby. She has a television in her own room (hubby gave it to her for her birthday) and goes to bed by 10pm because she tells me & hubby she has to wake up by 6 am to get my daughter up at 6.15am. Think between sleeping with my daughter or bomb shelter, she rather sleeps in a bomb shelter
-
Thanks! I paint it myself She now sleeps in the back of the house where there is no window, just a balcony outside the back of her room. But she likes to close the balcony doors. I find it stuffy too but she likes it. In any case, I don't have a room except the bomb shelter.

I know what you mean! We went to Sansei to check out the sinks with the sinks we like costing around the region of a minimum of $500! My eyes nearly popped out of its sockets! Its really pricey esp when you compared it to places like Poh Joo that cost less than $200 for a nice sink.

Hi TYM, I don't disagree with you but prefer to wash our dishes with hot water. Usually, my maid will rinse with hot water and after washing, she will "soak" the disher in hot water for a couple mins. We are so use to it already so no choice.
