  1. worst is when I do not have a storeroom. can only keep in one of the room and lock it. but then again, the workers might need to access that room when doing air-con. i thought of printing a list and ask the contractor to sign it. its like a T-loan form like dat.
  2. Do you keep your electrical and electronic appliances in the house during the reno period? My concern is because the contractor or worker will be wall-mounting the TV and speakers, so I have to leave the appliances in the house right? Somethings that I have at my house before the reno: TV, speaker system, rice cooker, fan, hob & hood, lamps. maybe fridge and washing machine might come in anytime soon. Is it safe to leave these things with the workers? not too worried about contractor or ID himself, but the workers. sekali they never lock the door after work or something?
  3. I have: (1) bathroom facing a study room, and (2) toilet facing bedroom (not MBR). Both toilets are located on the sides, along a corridor leading into MBR. From my understanding so far, it is not advisable to have rooms facing toilets or bathroom, because: (1) Negative 'Chi' from toilets are bad for health of person staying in the room. (2) 'Chi' flowing along the corrider gets flushed away. For the bathroom facing the study room, The door can be shifted slightly to its side to prevent a full view from the study room. Alternatively, the door can be shifted to the kitchen. Is it advisable to shift the bathroom door into the kitchen since the kitchen is where wealth is (kitchen is in SE sector of the house)? For the toilet facing the bed room, The only place to shift the door is into the MBR. Is it advisable to shift the toilet door into MBR? Alternatively, I thought of sealing the toilet door and join it with the bathroom with bathroom door shifted to kitchen. My concern is that I have to walk a long way from MBR, through the corridor, turn into kitchen, open kitchen door, turn into new bathroom door. There are just too many corners that I need to be 'wary' of if I need to go to the toilet in the middle of the night. Is it advisable to join the toilet and bathroom and put its only door in the kitchen? Closing of toilet doors are definitely what I will do if I am not shifting any doors. Are there anys that I can remedy the Negative 'Chi' from toilets and prevent good 'Chi' from being flushed away? I have read about changing the toilet doors to have a reflective surface (eg. mirror). I have also read about putting plants in the toilets to soften the 'chi'. What type of plants? I have also read about putting a string of ancient coins above or behind the toilet doors? How many coins? Please advise. Thanks!
  4. I would like to change the tiles of the default HDB kitchen (ceramic floor and glossy ceramic wall tiles). The standard method is to hack and re-lay tiles. However, I understand that there is an option to overlay the floor tiles and plaster the wall without hacking. Is it possible and advisable? 70% of my kitchen will be covered by cabinets and backsplash, leaving only one and half wall. are there any other considerations that I have missed out?
