Hi, planning to do the same as you, invest in a good hob instead of wasting $$$ on a hood. But can share if it's worth investing in a induction/ceramic hob? I heard not very friendly to use for chinese cooking...cos cannot see how big is the flame but then i'm not a heavy user as well...

Just wondering if it's necessary to do hack and redo wall tiles in the kitchen if it's gonna be covered up by cabinates? The only exposed part is the backsplash area... anyone did something like that?

Going shopping later to shop for all these stuffs... So much to do yet so little time... Any recommendation where to shop? Cheap & good places?

Hey, We decided on a contractor instead cos we needed more workmanship than design advice cos we're looking at simple classic lines so dun really need a designer, plus a couple of designers put me of by giving me plenty of sales talk... sigh... We need a lot of carpentry done in kitchen and MBR. A friend recommend me this contractor, this young fellow seems like workmanship not bad and had a bit of design sense as well... so we'll wait and see. I'm getting my keys mid of april, and still a bit more of planning to do! Argh....

Finally this forum is up again... Had a contractor check the condition of my resale EA last wkend, on closer look and further discussion, I need to do wet works liao...Kitchen wall and floor tiles gotta do and now both toilets also... so my budget gotta go up again... now can do everything under 35K happy liao...

Hi, can i check if the hob works fine in HDB unit? cos when i went shopping for one, the salesman says the ceramic hob needs special electric points like the aircons ones to work, if not, it'll trip. Anyone can enlighten me?

Hey, So let's say I need to redo the MBR and Kitchen mainly, a long seatee in dining area and leave all the flooring and toilets untouched, you all think 15k to 20k possible? so far the cheapest quote i got is 19k but they din quote for all the items i need plus workmanship and design so so only... anyone got contractor's contact can give? I find no point in hiring ID cos mainly carpentry works.

Hey... this thread still alive? I'd live there before i got married and "upgraded" to Farrer Park, moving back to my roots to yishun mid of this year. My mum lives in 343... Most probably going to be complaining abt the CTE jams and ERP rates after moving back to yishun... hahaha...

We contacted 2... still interested in another 3more contractors... planning to contact them soon. Still trying to decide what we really need and what we can do without...

I was at the showroom at Trade21 today and was rather impress by their design... so in case I'm tempted to used them, which ID shld I ask for huh?

Anyone actually bought hob without the hood? Cos I seldom cook and my hood spolit after 2yrs, so for my new kitchen, i'm thinking to do without the hood at all and in place, maybe install a stainless steel/glass sheet on the cupboard above the hob. Can anyone comment if this will work?

One of a close friend recommends them, and I tot the workmanship looks good too. Anyone else uses them too?
