  1. Hi Abupapa, my ID didn't charge for laying protective sheets cos it's not mentioned in the quotation...i guess the cost has been "distributed" somehow....
  2. sorry Bluerosie... pls pardon my previous reply...i mis-read your question. the kitchen basin is granite material. I thought you asked for the material of MBR toilet basin
  3. Hmm..that's a good question... I didn't ask the sales people!! I didn't bother ask about the material cos even if he (the salesperson) tell me, I also won't know what he's talking about. I just look for one that looks nice, price looks good, then whack liao IT show -- I going on thursday when it opens hopefully can avoid the crowd
  4. yup. replacing with 600 X 600 homogeneous
  5. Hi Bluerosie, I got it at sim siang choon. about $200++ excluding tap. Actually i got both my basins at the same place. don't know whether it's overpriced or not but i'm starting to get burnt out from all the recce sessions.... i think if i add in all the petrol and parking (and fines) used in the recce sessions while looking for cheaper lobangs, i don't save much too
  6. It's another round of massive bleeding (from my pocket) today. We've gotten the dimension from K, so we continued with our shopping today. Started the day by going to CS to take some measurement. Then we went to KEC at Adelphi to buy our hifi set first. These are what we bought: Onkyo AV Receiver TX-SR508 Cambridge Audio Minx325 Speaker set I requested for extra long cables (35M) just in case it's not enough because I'm going to mount the speakers on the L-Box. They also provide free installation and tuning service. Total damage: $2600 After settling the hifi system, we continued to go on to look for our sanitary fittings (MBR toilet basin, kitchen basin, mirror etc) We managed to only get the MBR toilet and kitchen basins because we couldn't be very sure about the correct size of the mirrors, so we decided to come another round. These are what we got: Kitchen basin Tap for kitchen basin MBR Toilet basin We didn't buy any tap for MBR basin because CO doesn't like the one that I like because she doesn't want those fancy taps. Since we will be buying a normal looking one, we might as well keep the existing tap given by HDB Total damage: $686
  7. The tiles have arrived on Saturday morning. Could only get to snap some pic of the tiles today cos it was too dark yesterday when I reached the place. The tiles are almost as high as a baby girl -- 600mm X 600mm This is how the actual tile looks like
  8. bro...we meet again ^^ i'm using almost 90% of my OA for my installment cos i wan to settle the housing loan asap.
  9. i think replacing only affected portion will result in non-uniform pattern or colour cos of the different batches or source of wood used.
  10. very tempted to try.... still thinking of how to work around the grille
  11. The war zone. Hacking has finished. We should see tiles being laid next week. All their barang barangs are neatly tucked at one side before knocking off for the day Kudos to you, K!!
  12. First day of Reno today. Hacking of living room tiles was the first task. It is really very nice of him to check with me what time he can start work because he knows that we observe the date and time to 动土. He also asked us on the previous night whether we are excited about starting reno..haha. It is these little gestures that set him apart from other IDs, and we really appreciate all these. As we were at work the whole day, we could only go down to take a peep after work. It was about 7pm by the time we reached. The workers have already knocked off. The doors were properly locked up with K's chain lock. Work permit has been dutifully pinned on the main door Room floorings have been laid with protective sheets to prevent damage They brought so much protective sheets and are stored in one of the rooms Main door and other doors have also been properly protected
  13. actually there r 2 screws on the outer side of the panel.... if u can get those screws out, the panel can be slided. The challenging part is how to get your 2 hands out of that unslidable grille and unscrew them without the risk of dropping the screwdriver all the way down
  14. oops sorry sis, my apologies. yup...it's a bit further down, but it will be about 25 storeys high too...so it will block my view of the river... lol
  15. hey bro froggy...yup...i can see your block from my window.... the condo will be just beside the river
  16. 410B is pending HDB inspection and acceptance right? should be ready very soon liao. Have you found your ID already? Can start finding and discussing with your ID liao, then when u get your keys, can straightaway start reno liao Today is my first day of reno (and I haven't given him my first payment yet)...i think they are at my place now preparing to start. might be dropping over to take a peep...hehe... According to the project schedule, reno should complete in 3rd week of April if everything goes smoothly.
  17. lol.... same ID company...hope our reno go smooth
  18. hehe....huat for u too!! your reno completed liao ah?
  19. Just gotten work schedule about 15min ago. The reno is faster than I expected. I will take less than 2 months to finish. I have also updated the list of work done on the first page of this t-blog. Mainly just added another simple feature wall in MBR. The feature wall is used to cover the ugly aircon trunking. Work will start on Friday. Good luck to me!!
  20. yeah...i guess that's the only consolation. At least we don't have another block directly infront of us, like how we block up coral vale
  21. i'm at level 17. the condo is H20. I think the view that I can see from my unit will not last long because HDB just released 2 more BTO projects that flank both sides where my windows are facing. I guess this is inevitable because most of the new BTOs will be at fernvale and there are still a lot of empty plots around here.
  22. We bought it at the funiture show at expo for $500. The merchant's name is called Gabbeh Carpet. According to their namecard, they have showrooms at Le Meridien and Furniture Mall at Beach Rd. Honestly I know nothing about carpets, so we don't even know whether this store is good or not or whether we got chopped by the sales people. Never do any research on it.
  23. Was at the expo furniture fair just now. We saw the bedframe that we ordered. Tried to take a shot of it cos I forgot to snap it the previous round. We also bought a piece of 200cm X 140cm ali baba carpet for our living room sofa area. We didn't plan to have a carpet, but don't know why we just wanted to have one at that spur of moment. This is how it looks like: We also got a free little piece of rug. Haven't thought of what to use it for yet
  24. Thanks Payton, hope my reno will be as smooth as yours
  25. I'm in the middle of the block nia. This view is only temporary. Once the condo is up, I can't see anything liao
