  1. Hi ashes02! Have you found your bathtub? I got mine from Adamas Balestier, and it looks something like the photo you posted. Its 1.4m in length, 0.78m width, and the best part is its depth, 0.78m!!!! So if you run a full tub, the water reaches to your shoulders..... But I dun have a picture of it just yet...not even the model number. But I bought it from Choi Ing and its a portable bathtub. If you are still keen I'll get my hubby to post the picture of our tub from his PC lah
  2. I read somewhere she paid $180pfr. But dunno from where.... I checked she last logged in Sep'08, I think PM her no use leh....but I try lah hor, hehehe
  3. For quality hor, check their showroom if they have one. Open drawers, cabinet, look at joint lines, handles, check screws, ABS trimmings.. etc... Or go to almost completed projects, preferably HDB projects so you can compare apple with apple. If they got no on-going projects..abit scary hor...but they should have projects where owners already moved-in liao. Tiles, laminates and carpentry are also huge headache, but will come in later lah...hehehe....
  4. I think blueblue not active anymore leh....I also interested in her Neoparies Crystallized Glass Kitchen top... Anybody???
  5. Nice living room design!!!Love the lights! Oooooh, the dogs are sooo cute!!
  6. wheeee!!!! Congrats on your new home!!!! Maisonette got a lot of possibilities and potential for designs hor!!!
  7. hehe, if you got time and patience, can meet even the expensive ones, get more ideas, exposure, concepts on how to do up places like your wardrobe...You can also compare prices, like how some ID really mark up prices, or how some ID have very reasonable prices etc.... When you know the "market rate" for certain things, its easier for you to spot overcharged items and services. Like electrical work, painting, even carpentry is all marked up to a certain extent.... ....aiyo, I sound a bit negative hor.... pai seh....
  8. Hi! Yup, you will need sealant on newly plastered walls or else there will be hairline cracks appearing after some time.... I have to do that for my place as well
  9. yup yup..Phantom is right... Folic acid you can also eat, easier to buy multivite that contains zinc and folic, so won't forget to take lah...
  10. I think mattress comfort is very individual leh....most inportantly is how you and hubby feel when lying on it together, how you feel when lying on it alone, with pillow, without pillow etc. And if you have time, try going to another store and try the same matress you have in mind. It could feel different for many reasons, like older/newer display, more/less ppl trying it out etc. Go with what you are most comfy with coz its a long-term investment

  12. I belief TOTO has that toilet...saw it in the Japanese catalogs..but its not cheap. Adamas also has that I think.....If going to Jln Besa Adamas, pls dun talk to a man called Jerry hor. He qouted my hubs and me $880 for a bathtub, best price $830...when we managed to get it for $690 from Balestier Adamas by Choi Ing.
  13. I believe they are having sales now. Don't bother going to their eunos branch to buy. Was quoted a barstool $189 when I was quoted $169 plus better price if I buy more, from Beach rd hor.... Can go eunos look see lah, coz I think got slightly more on display.

  16. Hi!! There is a home show going on at expo hall 6 til sunday, why don't you and your hubby go down with a photocopied copy of your floor plan? Get qoutes from some ID companies, ask them for a copy for reference also. But I heard from other forummers, avoid M*ss Em*nnuel. My hubby and me bought our plc in july'08, but started sourcing for ids the moment we got our floor plan hor(apr'08). We started reno in Feb'09 coz the plc was rented out for a while. In the end, we got about 20plus qoutes....but decided to do everything by ourselves coz deisgn-wise its our own design. And really did not want too pay id companies the 30-50% they earn from the qoute. Example, hacking of our whole house, we got qouted btwn 3-5K, not including hualage and debri clearance. We found a hacker who qouted 2.1K. If you got a theme, design , concept in mind, and time on your hands...start looking around now.
  17. Hi all!! Saw a daybed from scanteak and really like it but its going at $1295, less from $1495 or thereabouts... Anybody know if scanteak will lower their price if asked, or if they are going to have any big sales soon? Only willing to pay max 1K lor....
  18. I'm not too sure about food per se, but I've read and been told that vitaminE with selenium aides in fertility. That can be found in GNC. Exercise like yoga and pilates is also good when there is focus in the core (stomach),and pelvic muscles. Foods which are high in antioxidants like berries, kiwis, broccoli, celery, etc, should be eaten regularly. Soy-based products should be avoided as it has been reported to affect fertility for both men and women. Eat more fish like salmon for its high omega3 properties. Start taking folic acid daily (400gm at least), hubby and wifey. Men should take Zinc, folic acid, or vitamins that contain those. Cut down on coffee/caffeine, at least not more than 04cups per day, hubby and wifey. Ultimately, timing is also important lah!
  19. Hi! I seriously advice against downlights above the bed coz I've been to hotels that do that and the problems are: 1. Extremely inconvenient to adjust...unless your ceiling is within arms reach...or you got a long pole to poke adjust poke 2. Your head position must be standard..if you sit up a little, lie back a little, a shadow will be cast on your book... 3. If you happen to look up for any reason, the glare of the bulb is very piercing 4. The heat of the halogen bulb might give you a headache LED lights like what applefreak suggested are good lah, not much heat, energy efficient etc... and it doesn't affect the neighbour.....portable some more You can also get those which mount on the wall. Or a nice signature lamp oso lah....

  24. Whee!! Thanks for the replies! The search continues.... hehe, like the fact that the hubby & me were free to roam!! Sigh, it IS very tiring searching for lights....especially since we bought 2 ceiling fans for the design and NOT the function!!! Now got to search for lights to place around the fans coz the fans do not come with light thingy...
