The leather sofa we bought from species is also peeling! And they told us it is good quality german leather when we bought it. Contacted them and they want us to pay 480 to re-upholster the sofa cos there is no product warranty. Do you guys think this is too expensive?! Hi mrspiglet, We also had the scv point split into 3 (should have been 4 but that is another story) Yes, the image is a bit blurr even after the LCD delivery guys connect it using the starhub digital hubstation. They did tell us that in order to get clearer image on our tv, it is better if we upgrade to a High Definition(HD) setup box. Becos we cannot tahan the image quality after paying so much for the tv, we went to starhub to rent the box Ours looks similar to the picture below but is without the hubstation: Hope this helps u

Ya, I think it is likely to be a installation problem, but I think we just don't feel like rectifying it again and again. So after thinking hard about it, we decided to change to bi-fold doors

Sorry to hear about your problems with your carpentry .. Mine also have scratches and a few mis-drilled holes here and there, so they just use the pen to patch here and there. But for the dented doors, maybe can try to ask them to replace For the tv reception, are you using HD TV on Starhub cable? If yes, you need to go and get the HD setup box. Mine also like that and the TV guy told us we need to get the HD setup box. We got it last night and now swee swee Anyway, just to add, I also have not seen uncle for about 3 weeks. The last time was when he collect the 2nd last payment(20%) and go through the list of rectifications.. Then after that he only send the workers up. Finally .. we got our lcd tv, soundbar delivered and finish all the rectifications with final payment today *phew* it has been a long journey but we are glad that it is finally over! Although some of the things are not perfect, i think we can live with it. What is more important, is that we are all happy and no more cleaning all the time. I think everyone is entitled to his/her opinion about their own contractor, and we should be allow to share them here in this forum .. For those who are interested in engaging Uncle, please do take time to go through the t-blogs, visit some of his 'show-flat' and talk to some of his customers. My only warning is that, if you have a tight deadline, then Uncle may not be such a good choice.

Just to share what we did .. Look around and find 1-2 models of the LCD TV and other appliances within budget Call up a few of the electrical shops (like Goh Ah Bee, Ban Kim Chuan etc) to get a quote for all the items Go to Harvey Norman, Best Denki etc and see if they can match the offers (usually can) Then, try to bargain somemore for discounts on the extended warranty Now Harvey Norman got some surewin scratch card .. we got $220 HN vouchers for next purchase.

As part of the reno, we had 2 PD doors installed for the bathrooms. The one is the common one had problems right from the start .. - door was filmsy - plastic hinge on the top of the two panels broke Requested the contracter to rectify and they re-installed the door with a new plastic hinge. After staying for almost a month, the same problem surfaced. But now the MBR bathroom also had the same problem too. Wondering if anyone had the same problem? How to prevent this from happening again?

I went home to check last night and yes, the bottom is protuding about 1 inch. Like what booy said, it is due to the brackets that is required to secure the water pipes and shower mixer. I think it will be straight if the water pipes are concealed in the wall, but that is not the case in our house Booy, Ya, becos we gave up installing wallpaper so thought will have blinds with design to add a different feel. It turn out well .. at least to us lah
