thanks thanks .. we went many many showrooms before we finally decided on this love it very much since it meets our requirements: high back, not bulky, leather, comfy

Just to post our live-in pictures (don't mind the clutter) Kitchen

Hmm .. they took out mine before, actually it is not very messy i think. Don't worry about it. For those buying electrical items, can find out the model and call up electrical shops for a quote. We got most of our stuff from Ban Kim Chuan

Gaku, Can share in more detail how Uncle insert the chemical for the hollow wall tiles? Did he has to hacked before piping in the chemical? I really want to know how messy it is before talking to him about it again.. We have 2 wall tiles that are hollow in the center and they are behind my shower mixer Pinkpetter, I don't know how to describe the hollow sound .. but if you use keys or coin or any metal part to just knock on the tiles lightly, the hollow part will sound different and 'louder' than the part that has the cement below it.

Electrolux Front Load Washers And Dryers
apples replied to adrian_john's topic in Electronics & Electricals
We have a electrolux washer and just bought a electrolux dryer recently. If you have been using a top-load, then you will find that front load washers take a long time to wash. Cannot compare bosch and electrolux since we never owned bosch before.. but electrolux is quieter compared to my previous whirlpool. Hope this helps -
Had some family problems recently and work schedule was just killing me at the same time, so no much time to visit the forum. Take your time to clean and unpack .. we already moved in 1 month and there are still a few boxes lying around.

Thanks, I will ask Uncle again about the tiles Rondy, Thanks for sharing the link, very useful info indeed. For wall tiles, it says "Drummy or hollow sound should not occur when the tiles are tapped with the fingers." How come floor tiles use metallic object while wall tiles use fingers ... so confusing

Wow, your house transformation is almost complete, now it looks so bright and airy. So nice .. aiyo drooling over your doorlock, blum drawers and carpentry works. And your kids bathroom very bright, I am sure they love it. I want to go see in real person but too bad, pasir ris is too far leh :-(
-
Aubrey, Yup, it is the wall tiles. But they do get wet all the time since they are just beside the shower mixer :-( Why did you have to retile your bathroom and WC? Also becos of hollow tiles? Ya, I know it will be messy that is why we did not insist on changing yet, but still feel a bit uneasy about the hollow tiles lor

I think your house is really very nicely done-up .. especially like your kitchen and MBR with the wallpaper! Regarding the white patches on MBR laminate floor, did Uncle say how he is going to rectify it? I also saw a white ring patch on my MBR laminate floor too, I think it looks like paint :-(
-
Gaku, Sorry to hear of all the problems. I can only emphatize with you since my HO was also delayed despite many reassurances that it will be on time. But the good thing is that you are finally moved in! I hope the major rectifications have all been completed. I have moved in for almost a month but also have outstanding items that need to be fixed. About 1 week after we moved in, Uncle did come by and ask for the balance payment with VO. We paid most of it after going through the rectification list and Uncle promised he can fixed it all at one go. But due to some personal problems at home, I have yet to call Uncle to arrange. I found two hollow tiles in my MBR bathroom, just behind shower mixer I think those tiles were hacked and replaced. But before the cement completely dries up, the installer came and fixed up the rainshower :-( Uncle told me that they will be ok and need not be replaced .. but I am still worried since the the hollow is in the middle, not the side. What do you think? Should I just accept it so that it is less hassle?

Materials That U Regret Using/ Installing
apples replied to st002's topic in Home Maintenance & Repairs
Are you refering to Helping Hands or other movers? On the day of the move, Helping Hands use the 'cling wrap' to wrap my bed, mattress, tv, cupboards, washing machine and refrigerator before moving -

Can try putting a few drops of citronella oil into the burner -
Sorry to hear about your loss, my condolences. Good to hear that you are happy with your tiles. You said they put styrofoam below your tiles to level up the tiles? Is it the normal styrofoam? Just curious how sturdy they are

Just some random thoughts to share: - We love our new mitsubishi aircon, it is quiet as compared to our old daikin ones. More importantly, with the recent hot weather, really cannot do without it - We installed the kdk ceiling fan for our living area, it is good if you are sitting nearby it. But if you are sitting too far away, it is not as good lor. I wonder if it is a installation or a fan issue - Not very happy with our MBR wardrobe but have to accept it since it is a rush job Outstanding items: 1. Get electrolux to stackup the dryer and also demo how to use 2. Rectifications: a) MBR toilet, shower area water flow is a bit slow into the drain b) MBR toilet, some touch-ups on grouting required c) MBR cupboard below the window, one of the doors dented by movers, need to be replaced d) MBR wardrobe, need to rectify the hanging rod position and add a bit of shelving e) Some dents and scratches on the wall, need to touch-up with paint f) Need to install some hooks to hang up picture frames at dining and living area g) Install additional latch on main door 3. To buy: a) Sony LCD TV, entertainment system b) Laundry hangers, still debating whether to invest one from ezzi living or just use the good old laundry poles or those roman laundry hanging system c) Chest of drawers d) Single bedframe
