  1. Wah your lights very economical leh, so good!!!! But hor, although each downlight is cheaper. But actually it costs more de, becos you need to factor in the costs of false ceiling or L-Box also. Running costs also more since total wattage is higher (e.g. 4x32w as compared to 1x60w?) But this one is up to each one's preference Not upset la .. just curious about the difference lor. We may be going back to change our fan to kdk one, so don't want to be a carrot again
  2. Yes, if you add up false ceiling and downlights, it costs more than a normal ceiling light. But then it also look nicer lor. So up to you. I got mine from extreme lighting .. the downlights are $22 each with 2x 18w osram bulbs. You can see the pictures in my t-blog
  3. No, I got another ceiling light for all the bedrooms. But just did not take the picture .. The toilet light is recommended by the sales person in extreme Show us the pictures for your lights too

Here's to share: Dining Room Light (crystal with black casing) MBR Light Downlight Service Balcony Light (the square one) Kitchen light is similar, just that it is rectangular instead of square Bathroom (small white one) Total damage is ~ 1.2k with a ceiling fan.

  9. Oh no .. we have been chopped!!! Ivy, can find out what is the size of the wattage for yours at $18? I know ours can fit either 13 or 18 watts double tube, is yours the same? I think there is a slightly smaller version that can only fit 13 watts.
  10. So you got the final quote in english already? We only manage to see the final one on the day when they start dismantling my cabinets .. Anyway, you are not the only one who overshot budget .. we also overspent our limit and still have not bought our TV, oven and curtains yet!!!

  13. Hmm .. I heard inverter is for people who use their aircon regularly lor. I think you can go and check out the aircon blogspot to see the writeup, which is quite good
  14. Updates!!! Ah Soon & team started work on Sat. They basically dismantle kitchen cabinets, laminate flooring and also the MBR wardrobe. This morning they started hacking about 9am .. I think should be finished by today The next few days should be tiling, plastering, electrical works, aircon etc When do you all start choosing the laminates and wallpaper?
  15. Yalor .. I also think it is expensive. But my hubby prefer to deal with him. So no choice. Are you going to install system 3 or 4? Non-inverter is quite a lot cheaper
  16. We bought ours at Extreme Lighting .. downlights are 2x18w at $22 each with osram bulb and some good ballast. For cove light, I think it is those T5 tube? But not 100% sure .. maybe someone with cove lighting can help

  19. Yup, living room also have aircon. My hubby wants to aircon every corner if he can hahahaa It is not the cheapest quote at 3.8k, but we got him to do our aircon for our current place and his workmanship quite ok. He has came onsite to talk to ah soon on how to route the aircon trunking and piping, we think it will look neater than the existing trunking. If you want, do pm me and I can pass you his number

  24. Ivy, Congrats, look like your plans are more or less confirm after speaking to ah soon? So good hor, got WIW. So when will your reno start?
  25. Thanks for all your advices, we have decided to split the 4 lights group under Switch E into 2 different controls since it can be controled in a 3-gang switch. The last 2 days very busy and spend a bomb! Confirm aircon Mitsubishi system 4, bought extra down lights and 1 more wall mount crystal light for our room (pics coming up) Also bought Franke package with duo-bowl sink, mixer, kitchen hob and hood together with WCs, basins, rain shower, taps etc etc. Aiyo, didn't know all these small little things add up so much! Now just feeling very broke and exhausted from all the shopping Actually I wanted to buy the Rinnai hob and hood but ended up with Franke. Partly it is cheaper but the other reason is also becos I am worried the Rinnai glass top will crack. What did you all choose ah (stainless steel or glass hob)? Anyone use Franke Hob before can share experience? Next, we are going to buy: - Oven (Ariston, Brandt or what is a good brand?) - LCD TV (this one hubby can decide ) - Sofa (St Louis or where??) - Dining Table - Curtains/Blinds
