About trunking, what we did was to have an idea where we wanted the power pts to be (never enough…) and then when meeting with Yeak, tell him where we want them, he’ll try to minimise the trunking by suggesting alternatives. For some of our trunking/pipes, he suggested a small box up, like cornice but without design, quite nice and don’t have the ‘low ceiling’ feeling. I’ll take a picture tomorrow after work if you like, else can ask him about it. I didn’t really notice my plumbing but so far, so good, crossing my fingers until my kitchen sink is properly installed….

Hi All, Gotten quotations from Sun-X ($5.60psf) & Llumar($4+ - $7) (Window Cool) solar films, both more or less similar pricing to cover my west facing windows. Any idea which brand is better? Read from above that Sun-x’s life span is only 5 years but the plus point is they are used in Changi T3 (from its website)… How about Perfect Windows as an alternative?

Hi All, Besides Ikea Galant range and Vhive, where else can I find L shape tables? Looking for cheaper alternatives. Thanks. http://www.ikea.com.sg/catalog/product_dis...037883-71870064 http://www.vhive.com.sg/listing.php?cat_p=...c=13&from=2

Got to move in very early August since we'll be 'kicked' out from our current place, buyer wants to move in fast too. Angel, managed to drop by Northpt, the Lychee wine is $24, got grape and I think apple flavor too. Hey Pet, ya, dead tired. Especially with the scorching hot weather and crazy downpour on Sunday... Saw your progress, painting next? Ours suppose to start tomorrow or so. Discussed with Yeak about the carpentry and some laminate colors, still haven't confirm some of the colors and design for bomb shelter wall. Probably finalise by this Saturday. Anyone did suspended TV console? What the height of the top of the console? We are considering between 22" and 24", lower better right?

Hi Googocat, I remember your posts.... sounds quite bad but no idea what you can do. Maybe can write to RADAC and seek advise, not sure how much clout they have though. RADAC = Renovation & Decoration Advisory Centre: http://www.radac.org.sg/ Keep the spare tiles, hopefully you'll never have to use them but just in case your tiles crack, can get someone to replace them. Different batches of tiles may have different color variation and as DKCH said, maybe 2-3yrs later, can't find the same one. Good luck.

Super ‘long’ weekend last week... Friday: Aircon installation by Gain City, very good work by the installation team to complete within a day, think they left about 7.30pm. Minor problem is that the living room aircon is tilted a little by 5cm. Any issues? Yeak was there in the morning to help with suggestions about the aircon trunking, really appreciate his advice. Seems like somebody have been calling HDB to complain about the reno noise several times now…. Niao bugger… Saturday: Met Yeak in the morning to discuss paint options, had a quote from a guy doing solar films and another person to quote for curtains and blinds. Followed by light shopping at Balestier… Bought all my lights from Extreme, delivery this Thursday afternoon … Lightings.com.sg was cheaper by a little but my wife liked the dining light from Extreme and we were too tired to go back to lightings.com.sg (taking public transport…) so bargain a little with Alex and got a reasonable price overall. Still had a little energy to pop by S&C Furniture to get a dining set, great service by May, now just hope the quality of the table will be good. Got to wait till end of the month for shipment to be confirmed. Dead tired by the end of the day. Sunday: Settled our curtains with Mr Chew, well recommended in this forum. Another good contact will be John, whom I got from Angel81 but we got it from Mr Chew cos he’s price slightly lower, partly because by then, we know what are the higher end materials to avoid liao. Loonnnnnnnnng weekend…………

Giving them free flow of packet drinks... think the amount I've spent on packet drinks can do a box-up of something somewhere by now

Nope, my birthday is a few days after the PPP but my little cousins treating me in advance....

Hey Hopeless, you can try our (Tulips & mine) window contractor, Mark from Wellmax. Prices is better than Yeak's supplier although we can't tell if its due to material differences or its just because Wellmax charges direct 'factory' prices. They do bi-fold doors, wrought iron gate, grilles and of course, windows.

Thanks, going to Balestier to see see look look tonight. 6-7 pgs on reno.... 3-4 pgs on shopping.... :P
-
Thanks, looked seamless in the pictures, very nicely done:)
-
Thanks, then how do they 'seal' up the edges? Cos if not solid core, there'll be some visible lines right? May go there to take a look but too much poor feedback about them, not so keen to buy from them.
-
You can use it as a weekend chalet;) My wife & I did that last time and we bought a cheap sofa-bed, since cannot use the main bed cos of some traditional stuff....
-
Hi xvirusga76, Did you choose solid core for your white kitchen laminate? We are also going to do glossy white cabinets & solid surface. Your kitchen look really good  Btw, where did you get the dining table from? Thanks.
-
Hi Rierie, Did you get your MBR light from Extreme too? Looking for something like that too and if you don't mind, can pm or post the price. Thanks.
-
Ah Hui very funny, my wife told him the tiles laid very nicely, he said "Really, not up to his standards" (in mandarin of course).
-
Haha, we took 3 visits each to Hafary & LSH + once to Sin Lek before confirming our tiles...
-
Hi Adrian, it was either Mitsubishi E (Starmex) or Toshiba for me and for $100ish more, might as well get the Toshiba cos of its made in Japan compressor.
-
Hi Hon, its lightings.com.sg, 515 Balestier Road, probably going down this weekend to check it out.
-
Thanks New, someone did tell me about the warehouse before, but didn't really cross my mind to check it out yet. Saw your thread, good progress:)
-
You may like to try mine, Mark from Wellmax. Look at my signature for his contact number, price wise, pretty good and quite responsive.

F4, if you are really up to your limit with them, may want to write to them, and try to find out who's the CEO of La Cafa or Winter International, copy the person into your email. I did it once with Singtel before, you'll be amaze the level of service can rise immediately... http://www.singaporefurniture.com/members_...asp?code=winter I'm no lawyer but make sure you phrase your wording properly, make factual statements. Good luck.
