Some questions: Any recommendations for a system 4 aircon? Brand and installers too if you have. With the GSS, maybe June maybe able to get a good offer but shortlisting some brands for now. Btw, anyone used Havey Norman for their aircon installation before? Any comments/feedback? There’s some aircon sale by them this week.

Today, its my wife turn to harass HDB…. Left a msg last Wednesday, no reply…. Your thread setup already??? Want to see more of your designs, my wife said your foam model very nice:) Some updates: We when to Jln Besar to source for the bathroom fittings and kitchen hob+hood. Ordered from Royal Franco in the end, fair prices and also tired to search liao… 2 WCs, 2 sinks, 2 taps, 1 mixer, 1 shower set, 1 rain-shower set, a glass hob+hood, 1 granite sink & Smallboy’s fan for nearly $3k... Anything else we’ve missed? We’ve missed out the hose thing to wash toilets, But if you are interested in Hoe Kee, look for Winston at Jln Besar, very pleasant and knowledgeable guy. Didn’t get from them cos the total package is more expensive but mainly because we’ve choose quality stuff like made in Italy mixers+taps and such. Also went to Asia Excel in IMM on Friday night, had the pleasure to meet with Tommy who spent lots of time with us and extended his closing time to entertain us. Didn’t get from them cos we wanted a granite sink….

You funny.... ppl want to enjoy staying in their new home, you want to enjoy the renovation

Still doing my best to be a nuisance to the HDB girl.... no news abt my 2nd appt, nearly a month already... Anyway, good progress, at this rate, everything can be completed in a month. Happy for you One thing, acid wash, just make sure yr tiles are suitable for acid wash. I saw some tiles with not suitable for acid wash labels. And my current place, several of my kitchen tiles got damaged when they wash it.... Generally, should be safe but no harm checking or telling Yeak to be careful.
-
Got it. Thanks both:)

Hi Angel & Precious, what's the two-way tap you are talking about? The one that can send out hot & cold water?
-
Yup, definitely not your unit, the reno wasn't as nice as yours. 6 months renovation, must be very nice. Show some pictures if you can. Enjoy your 'upgrade' to Bishan

We also viewed 339A, a unit below #7 (maybe your unit;) but didn't like it cos the view was the carpark roof.... I share your sentiments about the old place. Now that we've sold our flat, we sort of remembered the hardwork and little events we did when starting our lives together...

If you are keeping salt in the SS racks, get something air tight. I used some Ikea jar, nice to look at but not air tight…. Few months later, the area where the salt was kept got rusted…. Angel, every time I see your thread, the song Country Roads keeps playing in my head…. “Almost Heaven, West Virginia, Blue Ridge Mountains, Shenandoah River….” :bangwall:

You can use this link to search for a rough idea of what’s available and how much, Saturday papers also helps too: http://www2.realink21.com/npp2/PL_HDB.aspx I got mine for $360k, but from following the recent transactions, this price is still very hard to get. Btw, if you interested, my agent has a unit (which we also viewed, at 339B, high floor). I can PM you his contact if you like. Nice guy, not pushy and we were very comfortable with him & his partner and very pleasantly surprised at the prices they’ve gotten for us, both buying & selling.

Mine is 339B, slightly west facing. We did consider hacking the wall of one of the rooms to make it MBR larger but we've decided to keep the room for now. Will only hack half of the kitchen wall to make a counter and to provide some sense of space for the tiny kitchen. For the kitchen, to maximise the space, we'll be making a U shape cabinet with sink facing the new opening, hob opp the window and a tall cabinet & tiny workspace at the opposite wall. Leaving just sufficient space for fridge and washing machine. A little tight but since we don't cook that often, should be passable. Am moving from Wellington Circle to there. We've considered other places but decided to stick to Sembawang for now, other places stick relatively high.

Hi Newnyew, don't rush him since your 1st appt still far. He took 1 week plus for my first quotation and it came back pretty detailed, I rather he took his time than send in some slipshod quotation. Then IDs I went to earlier also took 1-2 weeks plus for their quotations to come in.
-
Hehe, we've haven't even know our second appt date, already met him once and took a look at one of his projects:) Even more of less shortlisted our tiles too...
-
Thanks, very useful, especially the pictures. Have been trying to recall and guess how the place looks like, with your pictures, at least can start planning the living room's design first. The last time we were there, only focus on the small kitchen & wanted to check if it was hot cos of the facing.
-
Maybe next time the ventilation fan also name after you too;) Inspection finally over, everything ok. Now to continue harassing for my 2nd appt date...

Bengawan Solo not halal, learnt it the hard way when we bought a cake for a colleague who's very pious... Polar is halal though.

Hi Roamca, Since I'm lurking around HDB's site, found this about the tray. DL838 is right about the tray not being approved. http://www.hdb.gov.sg/fi10/fi10205p.nsf/WP...ay?OpenDocument

M&M & cough syrup side by side.... hmmm
-
According to my agent and another agent I know, pretty good price for a 2nd flr unit. Only 4k COV (still throw in our washing machine+Teak wood dining table....) but we knew it'll be hard getting a good price for a 2nd flr flat, so was pleasantly surprised to sell abv value.

Smallboy fan, think they'll be pleased to the fan named after them Now waiting at home for HDB ppl to inspect my current flat since I'm selling.... And still waiting for my 2nd appt date.... Wait wait wait.... Thgt S'pore civil service very efficient???

Saw the fan and he gave good prices (compared it to my current fan) but not sure if its the same one as Royal Franco. I like Smallboy's gun-metal color fan. Missed Royal Franco when I did my walk along Jln Besar last week, only popped in Hoe Kee and another shop along that row.

Putting all these here, so next time I feel like taking 'urgent' leave, can find them easily. Royal Franco - Henry- 135 Jalan Besar - 62990453 http://www.streetdirectory.com/asia_travel...vel_site_17374/ Asia Excel - Desmond - 292 Balestier Road - 62569905 http://www.streetdirectory.com/asia_travel...vel_site_42133/ Genova - 58 Bendemeer Road - 6299 0222 http://www.streetdirectory.com/asia_travel...vel_site_43146/ Extreme Lighting - 371 Balestier Road - 63583113 http://www.streetdirectory.com/asia_travel...vel_site_42223/ Kiang Sing Hong Hardware - 828 Upper Bt Timah Rd - 67600365 (Blum Supplier) http://www.streetdirectory.com/asia_travel...el_site_119450/ And of course: Basic Image ID - Yeak - 67520504 - 292 Yishun St 22 #01-291 http://www.streetdirectory.com/asia_travel...el_site_126200/

I also think its unnecessary;) But saw my wife's look when she saw Smallboy's drawers and if its not too expensive, will try to get it for her. See how... Yeak showed us his drawer system, also quite good and sturdy looking. Soft-closing, difference btw that is you'll have to push the drawers in yourself whereas for Blum, a light push and it closes by itself.

Sorry Angel for squatting on your thread but conversation going very well here Found the contact: Kiang Sing Hong Hardware, 828 Upp Bt Timah Road, 6760 0365. Precious, if you getting, let me know how it works. Yeak tells you what to buy or you have to decide on your own and buy for Yeak to install. Best if he can get everything for us, I'm afraid that I might buy the wrong hinge or something... Thanks.
