  1. Thanks, seems like so long ago but I've just checked, only late April when we first started looking for reno ideas...
  2. Think yours will be earlier, cos Yeak said we'll need to apply for renovation permit and I have the impression he'll apply after we've gotten the keys. So yours and ours will be done more or less together
  3. Might even start on the 9th itself.... maybe place some picture of my mgnt on the floor and start using a hammer crack a few tiles Should be a good stress reliever
  4. Ya, already book Yeak to meet at my place on the 9th evening. (Anybody tracking him:) He said need a few days after that to get the permit, then can start.
  5. Desperate husbands lah.... Can save money, anything also can... almost;)
  6. Hi Penguin, You may want to check out Liang Seng Hin's website for an idea of the tiles available. Lots of other shops around but can check the site out for some possibilities first. http://www.liansenghin.com.sg/product/product.htm
  7. Can borrow your husband to help bargain for me :P
  8. SOP- Standard Operating Procedure:) Gotta to run, late for work..... as usual.... Will pop in Renotalk later to check out your progress. Bye.
  9. Wow, the kitchen wall looks very nice!
  10. His recommendations like SOP, he also suggested a similar shoe cabinet Can't find the picture online but if you have an Ikea magazine, take a look at pg 178, they have a good idea for storing shoes, think can still add in if you want. And agree with Ashes about the shoes shouldn't be above your head/shoulder... some fengshui thing... So we'll be using the top for storage instead.
  11. Looking forward to see your carpentry, we'll have quite abit too....
  12. Thanks, I'm going this Saturday to look at the tiles again. We'll go ourselves, less pressure. Also maybe going to get some quotes for aircon too. Wait wait wait... Just nice, new home ready, mum's birthday, can celebrate big big liao
  13. Glad that your problem finally resolved. See if can PR PR (buy a cake/cookies) with your neighbour below but if they still so neow, then can't do anything about it. At least they live below you
  14. Hehe, the Blum is included or additional? Now only waiting for 9th June to collect keys, so near, yet so far... My current dish drying rack also not covered below, comes with a metal tray, which collects the water from the washed plates. Tray can be removed to empty the water (if too much), else just leave it there. With our weather, the water will be evaporated very soon.
  15. Ya, think he'll go with you. It's because we itchy hand (or leg), wanted to go see for ourselves way before we confirm with anyone. Even then, the shop assistants also do provide some ideas if you need.
  16. Currently using front load, not sure about saving water cos nothing to compare but that's what everyone says. Using the heat function will definitely use more electricity so I only use it for curtains and cushion covers. Some things to note, takes longer (my old model LG takes nearly 2hrs for standard wash...) once start, cannot throw in anymore things, slightly more expensive. But having said that, will be getting another front load (buyer wants my washer...). The saving water & less wrinkled perception and also cos my wife quite petite and if we get a top load, say 7-8kg, she may have to tip toe to reach the clothes right at the bottom (do consider this if the washer is to be place on a washing machine base).
  17. Last time he also brought us to Hafary, along Balestier. There's another shop along the same stretch, Liang Seng Hin, and we are probably getting our tiles from them. Generally similar tiles Yeak is fine with both, even Sin Lek (went there when we were considering Ah Soon). Take your time to choose, lots of variety, we brought back samples, place them against the wall, facing sunlight and also to see how they'll look like under different lighting. Don't be shy to get the samples, really very useful.
  18. This thread like the old SB thread which Pinkpetter started.... moving so fast. Think by the time i check back again, prob 15pgs liao...
  19. Heyhey, I'm also asking him to start 10 June or so too:) But we'll need it to be completed by end-July. Chosen your tiles already?
  20. FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Got a date in 2nd week of June.... sense of relief, at least with a date, can get things moving. Whew:)
  21. Haha, newnyew, can try "Finally!!!" too
  22. Waiting to see your completed paint job, Yeak very nice to help touch up the ummmm…. Not so professionally done parts :paint:
  23. Haha, Angel, I think I know what you mean liao…. Two way tap = mixer, allows hot & cold water to flow out from the tap/shower head. Then there’s a two-way connector, which allows the water to be diverted from the mixer to shower head. Correct? Ya, also have a storage water heater, 30l… Btw, am using a storage heater currently and you only need to on for 10-20mins to heat up the water. Switch off after use else your bills will rocket, we just found that out when the person buying our place told us about it. I’ll go and ask for a quotation from Allbest but not so positive remarks from another forum.
  24. The 2 of you trying to confuse me The two way tap is called a mixer. Using two-way taps/mixers for my basins & showers. Confirm using Yeak. We’ve met him and wife sort of interrogated him about his workload and together with your feedback and comments about him, helped reassure us that he’ll do a good job.
