i understand......... my old place also like that........... ONCE the girl was skipping rope ...... she is no small ant. She is a huge little elephant doing her cute exercise. But one nice and gentle trip up to talk to her mom is enough. She never jump rope anymore. Phew!!!! I think talking to them about the problem helps. But kids will be kids la... they always do funny things, esp when parents are not around. My kids also, loves to stomp their feet, drag their feet... aiyo.... I also tell them to be considerate.

May I know what is the best cleaning agent to clean laminated carpentry like my cabinets door, TV console and my Veneer doors. Appreciate your tried and tested methods and products. Share share here.

actually in terms of space, yours may be larger than the sum of my little corner WIW... hee..hee... as long as it is functional, good la! Dont really need a WIW. As for BLUM, good choice. S4 is great for heavy pots and pans. I have 2. 1 under the stove for my pots and 1 for my Corningware... very heavy. You see 'feel' the smoothness of the entire box. hee..hee..

Very nice reno done! Love the dresser and the switches. The black laminates on the shoe cabinet is so unique. Seldom see before. The effect is nice.

Out of all these posts, I will agree that lurkers and forummers should post their reno works done by contractors or ID. This will really help future ones who are doing their reno to make an informed comparison. Here we are seeing so many Ah Soon's work cos so many join in the Soon Wagon and are willing to blog about it. Thus, those who think we should 'see' other contractors (50 or 500) should start posting. Not meant to be offensive here. But really, we want to see more contractors' work here. And I sincerely like to see too. That's my bottomline conclusion. This will help the community here. My 2c worth.

Aiyo... we just came back from Malacca, I called him and he told me he no longer working for BIG BROTHER. SHOCKING! I called Ivy, then know the story. Sigh...... ID does space planning, design, colour advising of your entire reno. Most will provide 3D drawings for your house reno. Contractors can't provide the above. They just do/make what you tell them to. Prices wise....... no brainer which is more expensive. You pay for the services, you get good advise on design/colours etc. (hopefully good advice) Hope this helps. This is the simplest way to look at it.

Ah Tan quitting is not a surprise. He has been complaining too much work... too many projects. He is quite ok..... more skillful than the other 2. But he cannot ta-han the work load so he said he wants to quit. Plus, his GOOD GOD BROTHER quitted, he will definitely follow suit. SAD!

If you are tight for time and need to move in by a certain time, you may want to re-consider Ah Soon. He usually can't meet deadlines that tight.

Aubrey, you are right. It is actually a 12 ft bookshelf, and guess what? It is all fill up with books, scrapbooking stuff and toys.... Storage not enough. We didn't use sliding doors bec it will take up more space for the running tracks. Save cost as well. Stormcontrol, no problem, please use the same idea. No copyrights. Do note that you need to tell uncle that it is for books and he will make a thicker shelf for you. Normally bookshelf depth is not as deep as ours. My wife needs a special depth of at least 13-14 inches for her scrapbook albums so she ask for that dimensions. And the shelf are thicker pieces of wood cos we told him we got LOTS of books and heavy stuff. Not the usual light weight books.

Booy, decal from Laines Papeterie......... Wheelock Place. 3rd floor. It is a scrapbooking cum craft store. They recently bought in a series of wall decals. All sold out liao. I grab the last few. You got to see my princess one next week. Got glitter ones.... very very nice!

to protect yourself....... pls document these in BLACK and WHITE... ie... type a letter to the company stating your complaint. This 'way' is to protect yourself should they counter sue you for non-payment of services rendered to you. Also, if you have proof that you have chosen the colour, state it.... brand and colour code. Then take a pic of the WHITE ........ all attached to the letter. Definitely from what I see in your pics, yours is more creamy....... what they have installed is so WHITE.

oh that's sad. Got to feedback to Uncle. Your carpentry guy is trying to cut corners.
