  1. Hi, hi. Have also been looking for fridges, washing machines, etc.. We're considering a two-door (side-by-side type) Samsung RS20NRSV (510L) & we've been "judging" energy saving consumption by the number of ticks on the stickers : how accurate is that, any idea? Also, does any1 hv bad experience with maintenance of white colour fridges? Any colour change after a certain period of use? Thanks.
  2. Don't know how other couples reconcile differences between choice of furniture, but boy, am I glad that we've finally ordered our 1st piece of furniture after months of hunting! It's the Tortellini, 2.34m, 3-4 seater sofa from Massimmo, synthetic leather cos more affordable & we've heard from friends that it's easier to maintain, vs genuine leather. As mentioned in earlier post, Aundruea at Massimmo (Ubi branch) was really professional & upon our 2nd return to the showroom a week after our 1st visit, he was very patient with us & very detailed in explaining to us the pros & cons abt the different types of leather. I was for the 2.4m Penne, but am happy with my fiance's choice of Tortellini as well, even tho' we spent almost 2 hours or more there the 2nd time round, deciding on the model, shades of colour & type of leather, etc.. We left at abt 8plus, when the showroom's hours were till 8pm, & were very grateful for the good experience there. Can't wait for the delivery : expected to receive mid-Feb 09, when our new house shld be ready after some minor renovations. Next up : hope to find the dining table, coffee table, buffet table, carpet/rug soonest. Also hunting for lights : went to Light Craft last wkend but the nice pieces were already sold & new shipmt comes only after Mar 09 & may or may not hv the same models. Heard that shops in Balestier may be at "cut-throat" pricing : anyone has recommendation on venues for affordable yet durable, contemporary lights? Am typical Singaporean - haha, so must get our $$$'s worth. Same for rugs too. Loved some at Massimmo 2x3m type but very out of our budget : abt $2k per piece. Don't think we'll need such big pieces + personally, I'm not looking at spending beyond a couple of hundred dollars for rug... Hope to hear views & advice soon. Blessed Christmas & a happy New Year!
  3. Hi, hi. Any advice on (i) the difference between marble top and epoxy marble top (ii) how to care for marble dining top : can it take direct heat from eg. microwaved bowl of noodles - understandably must put on placemat; spilled coffee must be wiped up immediately, etc,? (iii) anyone used marble dining top & for how long? After a few yrs, still look new? Will white top turn yellow? Pls pardon my ignorance : the questions may sound silly : will be good if sme1 can share his/her experience. Thanks much!
  4. Thinking of buying a white epoxy marble top dining table : does anyone has experience to share abt the usage & care for such table tops? Thanks.

  6. OOPS! My apologies on clicking too fast : wanted to share my experience with Massimmo & Evov & accidentally clicked a repeat response here. Shared the experience as new topic this AM. Hope to get down to purchasing the furniture & lving in my new home soon!
  7. My fiance & I have been combing the island for furniture in the past few months (yes, he's a very thorough guy) & as with all newbies at renovations & furniture hunting, we really appreciate good service & advice from the people we meet, so am just going to list two excellent ones here for your reference & in appreciation : Massimmo : As with most of the forum postings, Aundruea turned out to be one of the most professional, patient & sincere persons we've met on our furniture hunt! We were at Massimmo last weekend, & not only was he polite & non-intrusive : I like the way he checked on us once in a while to answer our queries on pieces which he could tell we were interested in & left us to discuss while we narrowed our choices. He also came across as very sincere in advising us not to rush our decisions, discussed abt our timeline, space & needs, & even recommended us where to go for dining tables, etc.. Even though we left without making any purchase nor decision - we have narrowed down to two choices -, Aundruea was still friendly & really made us feel comfortable, as if he was an old friend! Do look him up if you're considering Massimmo sofas! Evov Living : Was there last evening, around 7plus. We saw very nice pieces & as usual, were narrowing down to a few choices of dining tables while waiting to meet Marcus. Although there was a nice lady who had attended to us as we went around, I was keen to meet Marcus since he came highly recommended, which would mean we'd get good service & sound advice. And indeed, the experience turned out more than WONDERFUL. Marcus was engaged with a family, likely discussing major purchases with floorplan, etc., & we were almost about to leave as the store was closing at 8pm, & we planned to return another day since we had not made any apptmt to see Marcus & it wldn't hv bn fair to make him stay back for a 1st round of discussion. To our pleasant surprise, Marcus greeted us just minutes b4 the closing time as the family was leaving. He did not seemed concerned abt working past 8pm, & we were not made to feel bad nor rushed at all! We asked him for advice abt the few dining tables & chairs we had in mind, & he very patiently shared with us the needy info & asked us abt our space, floorplan (which we did not bring with us) & colour scheme so that he could share his views on not just our dining pieces, but also the sofa - which we had shared that it'd likely be from another shop, - coffee table, etc.. In short, he made us feel at ease even though we hadn't committed to buy anything. In fact, he even shared with us what to look out for in a contractor, & in customising feature walls, TV consoles, etc.. We left Evov at abt 9pm with all smiles & gratitude for the time spent & engaging discussion Marcus had with us. Both Aundruea & Marcus are truly professionals with rich experience, & in my opinion, a blessing to both the companies they work in & customers they get to meet! THANK YOU, guys!
