  1. For those of you who have done electrical works, do you hire an electrician licensed by the Energy Market Authority? Here is a quote from the HDB website. To carry out electrical work in HDB flat, you are required to engage an Energy Market Authority (EMA) licensed electrical worker. You can search for licensed electrical contractors via the EMA's website. On the Energy Market Authority website, this is what I see. All electrical work must be undertaken or carried out by a licensed electrical worker. Such electrical work includes new wiring, rewiring and extensions which have to be tested before the supply is turned on. When consumer needs any electrical work to be done at his premises, he is advised to check that the person whom he intends to engage to undertake or perform the electrical work has a valid electrical worker licence issued by the Authority. It is an offence for a person (i) to carry out or caused to be carried out any electrical work unless he holds a valid electrical worker licence; or (ii) to engage knowingly any person who is not a licensed electrical worker to carry out any electrical work.
  2. No solution to the mirror problem here too and am interested to know if anyone has one. What I did with my previous place was to buy those cheap IKEA mirrors. When the black patches formed I simply changed it. I only went through two mirrors during 6 years of use for the bathroom that was used everyday. My kitchen bathroom was mainly used to wash clothes, and no black patches formed throughout the 6 years.
  3. I think it has been like this for some time already. I don't recall grilles having rollers, only the windows have this.
  4. I just need a contractor like in the good old days, where have all of these people gone to?
  5. Me too, can someone pm me a hacking contractor to use? I have a very easy assignment, it's one of those 3 room 56sqm flat.
  6. I am interested in getting this celing fan. I have had experiences with other fans, those crestar or elmark types where the motor is pretty silent although I can still hear some sounds. But for my new place, I need a fans for my bedrooms where the look and size needs to match it. Has anybody used these fans? I'd like to know how noisy it is and what i need to watch out for. Also, if I have a false ceiling, what type of brackets do I need?
