  1. getting my bed frame from them. ordered today.
  2. Just try it. Rub only one hand on the sofa and make observations of it over the next few hours. Take pics if there are any rashes.
  3. Hi You can read about my experience from ID selection and my own reno experience in my signature. Have fun searching!!
  4. Its very hard to go point by point to compare like this. Its never ending and super tiring and the outcome may not be justifiable. You are abit overwhelm already because there is too much to know. There are too many intangible factors to consider as well. Select on ID that you trust and go ahead with it. My painting turn out quite nicely It boils down to whether you want a smooth reno experience without need to be worried about anything such as schedule, coordination etc, or you prefer to diy and get all the cheapest items possible from different contractors. A lot of discounts are inbuilt along the way together with freebies as you proceed with your renovation.
  5. must match with your walls loh. check with your id if the color is suitable. since usually wall is lighter color, floor also light color, the furnitures can be of a darker tone
  6. try hommage, very good service. S&c the lady boss is nice too.
  7. go see doc tell doc about your skin condition. you might be allergic to the material of the sofa. you might need to do a skin test. Actually you more or less isolated the problem and its your sofa.
  8. i customized mine with rosewood. ordered 5ft by 3ft table, one bench and 3 stool (half a bench size) 5 seater only $710 something like that u can even do it chunky style i believe pricing wise is competitive or better than those in showroom but this is very solid wood and customized to your needs. Cost depends on how much wood you use
  9. Prices of course must compare but the warranty price difference is quite drastic. i checked with courts and they say 3 yr warranty is what the manufacturer provides.
  10. Pricing of extended warranty is different in Harvey norman, courts and best denki. Courts seems to be the most expensive. Best denki's extended warranty is 10% of the retail price Harvey norman i believe isnt that expensive too. However do ppl know more about the terms of the extended warranty? Which is better or value for money?
  11. Pm you furniture mall selling around 700, neighbourhood shop around 300. Anyway happy that everything is on schedule and slightly ahead of schedule!
  12. If we search hard enough locally, we might be able to get good prices too. Prices of some funiture at furniture mall are double or triple of what is selling at places like S&C and Hommage.
  13. jesslyntan you super poor thing. haiz i really dun think the money saved is worth the hellish experience you are going through. the trauma the pain and the emotions.
  14. i feel that ah soon customers seems to be very tolerant just because they feel they got a big bargain on their reno and its very cheap. Since pay so little they need to be more accomodating.
  15. slumberland got warehouse sale this weekend for sealy, you aim at what you like, and observe how it looks like. remember the name and the price. if possible take a pic of the specs and price. go to the next showroom, find something similar. tell them you are sure its the same thing, give them the price and name. tell them the other place give you a discount, check if they wanna match. they may try to smoke you and tell you diff fabric etc you can entertain them a while and and ask if they can match since it the same. most impt is let them know you done your research. Sequence of visit can be Harvey norman (get a independent sales person) Courts/Robinson/Taka/Tangs (sealy sale ppl) Sealy boutique (sealy sales ppl who will match price and try to get you to put deposit before you step out)
  16. go on a weekend at peak hours. bring a friend. let your fren shop first and get the prices of items down (get their best price) in black and white. then once fren is done, you go in to ask to change your order to those items at those prices. bring a recording devise to tap down the whole exchange. if they deny, then ask for reasons, get them to talk as much as possible with whatever excuse they have. if things turn ugly and you feel there is really no way you can recover your money, tell them you want cancel order/full refund/ and you tap down the conversation already and you are going to file a claim against them and write in all the forums about this incident.
  17. Today finally decided after the 3rd try on the mattresses. Decided to get it from Harvey Norman Centrepoint through the first saleslady who guided us patiently on mattress selection and trying out different brands. She was totally unlike the other sales ppl at Courts or Sealy Boutique who was either relentless at brand/store bashing or literally forcing you to put a deposit. She told us to try each bed for 10 min to get a good feel on the bed. Super patient and helpful. The most honest i met as compared to the 6-7 bed salesppl i come across. Managed to get a very very good price as well, esp that Harvey is offering a $200 off at this point in time. Even though boutique can match price plus some freebies, we felt that the HN lady really deserve to be rewarded for her good sales etiquette.
  18. well there is a need for profit margin no matter what. too many ppl expect ppl to work for free. even a chicken rice seller profit margin can be few hundred % cos ingredient is cheap. But dun forget there are other overheads. for the time that a good ID put into planning, coordinating, ensuring every details is done, they need to earn a decent income. honestly speaking i dunno how much ID can earn but seriously, its a really ****ty job and need to be beck and call of clients. Small screw up will get **** from client. Small overlook may lead to a big screw up. Quite a thankless job.
  19. Oh well lets see. Btw from the most expensive shop in FM, I saw the sofa retailing at $3.8k then i saw a brand tag there. Same as the brand tag at the other shop I saw which is selling the same sofa at $1.7k. This expensive shop's finishing, look, everything is the same as the other shop that I went to at defu lane. Maybe you can show us some pics of your tv console and coffee table.
  20. based on the cost price list that i mistaken got from ID, their profit from a 25k project is 5k.
  21. Very well spoken. This is exactly what I wanted to avoid and how I decide to choose my ID. It has been a breeze and very very enjoyable experience so far. Whole project est is 2 mth but i think will be earlier by 1-2 weeks I just need to go take a look weekly and sometimes i get mms updates too
  22. i just ordered a couple of things. arriving in mid dec.
  23. more new business for ah soon will mean more pain for the existing customers.
  24. the more you guys recommend ah soon new business the later the HO will be. i am glad i did not approach him as well. my kitchen cabinet is just done, within 1 week after measurement. ID coordinate everything and i doubt i really overpay at all for efficiency and peace of mind.
