over the weekend learnt a lot about mattresses. learnt about and saw for myself that mattresses are named differently at different shops. how prices can differ by a few hundred, and how desperate salesman can literally always match other shop prices and throw in freebies. but i really dun like mattress salesman sad.gif only slumberland lady at furniture mall stands out though i not getting slumberland. aiming sealy.also confirmed the identity of the bed at different shops. at the moment harvey norman offers the best listed price. the lady that served us is very nice as she wasnt pushing any particular brand and she really wanted us to try the bed for at least 10 min each. compared to the saleppl you see in courts, fm, ifc, its very refreshing and very good. if keen i can pass on her contact. going to harvey norman tmr evening to confirm order. now harvey got more discount than others. listed price for the one i want is $400 cheaper than robinson for the same bed if you are observant enough you will spot the same make of bed with different names at similar price range. push a little harder to find the truth and your bargaining power increases -
if the sofa is found in a few places, chances are is that its found in a lot of other places. Maybe take a pic and show us what it looks like. try defu, hommage, s&c , shops around IFC.

its a bit early but i did take some time to walk and shop and do market research my reno completing this month so i started about a month back personally will recommend you try hommage, defu, star, cellini, lush. i think these are safer or at least cheaper. if you are still a risk taker, ritz rymen can try. really nice sofa. i din dare to take the risk. you got a lot of time to research but remember research means research only. window shopping, take notes, take pic.

will it be one of those useless things that you buy but you really like it?
-
confirm chop guaranteed cheapest and nice hommage trading. saw those at simmon or sealy or courts or harvey norman design all same same.....price half

just now went to try the mattress again and drop by some other shop. test the sales ppl again and all pretend different model different prices. Then i rattle off the names of the models found in diff shops, they kuai kuai take out the list to compare and agree with me. muahahaha..... btw taka reno sales now, by thurs opening their mattress section, dunno got special sales or not. at the moment best and lowest priced for the sealy bed is at harvey norman. robinson most ex based on listed price even though their discount like wipe off $1k but still is costing around 500 bucks more than my 'match my price challenge' haha. the best saleslady that is neutral and non pushy is at harvey norman. those at FM and courts sibey jialat. i got the contact of the harvey norman malay saleslady if anyone keen to get her to intro you to diff brands.

different shop sell same model at different names so you can never find a similar cheaper model outside. for sealy series i eyeing its call provence, harmony, knightbridge in different shops. same model price similarly, difference by a few hundred. so its how you get them to quote you the best price.
-
most likely they will tell you they use superior products etc thats why more ex. but we wouldnt really know how superior it is also i think they are probably 5-10k more ex than what i spent based on quote i got.
-
not very good to disclose openly but its simple and basically let the salesperson compete among themselves in prices for you. of course you need to know a little bit so that the sales person cannot smoke you cos you did your research. for hommage, the real showroom are in furniture malls etc. view there and buy from hommage at half the price. haha. i pm you the details.
-
if you want sealy bed i can teach you a method to get the best price. tried it last weekend and work beautifully. hommage trading has super cheap furniture compare to what you can get outside fopr exactly the same products (eg defu, furniture mall shops)

just distribute brochures quietly outside the expo lo haha anyway you can perhaps buy minimal things what i can suggest is you can get a friend to go in, window shop and show some interest and get some quotes, bargain a lot, get them to write down some written quotes and price, and then you use this price list to insist on buying at those prices that they quote your friend.
