Yes thats how it is. Sometimes we want a lot of things done but with little budget. Instead of turning you away, a good id will go down to the essentials and then advise you accordingly to what perhaps can be left as it is and/or touched up to give you the same effect at little or no cost. We also have to managed our own expectation and not proceed with certain items first due to budget constraint. most impt these items are things that can be added easily like grilles, glass partitions etc

you can get your lights and fan from lightings.com.sg the most expensive fan was this 6XX fan. installation only $35. the other fans are 2xx-3xx range some more the installation is pay to contractor not to the shop.

perhaps you need a second opinion. another id may quote you a lot lesser and i think its not difficult finding another id that can give you a better price. in fact i think from where i got my dining table, they can customize for you using rosewood and probably a lot lesser than what was quoted to you angle of room wouldnt affect the price as its always measured according to length and not shape. in fact when i customized my table, they price it according to amount of wood used

seems like those china catalogue types of furniture have you check out s&c or hommage? eg a Furniture mall tv console can be 2-3x higher than a neighbourhood shop

most likely will call you to apologise but try all ways not to refund you make sure they deliver the cheque to you or something

i think its cheaper if you source for a lot of things yourself like fans and light at least you get to choose what you like at the price you like. but i got a feeling that the ID really whack the price because of the property you owned.

oh great to know. you will definately have a good and smooth reno experience then. for me i got her to do it. the reason is that its a lot easier if she is coordinating rather than getting a third party. basically we have already have most of the walls painted. after walls painted and lightings set up, sometimes the flaws on walls due to plastering or no plastering is clearer and i can easily get her to get the plasterer to touch up and the painters to repaint again. also i need not arrange for another time to monitor the painting works. its really more of coordinating and flexibility of follow up painting and touch up. you could put as a tentative item first and as you go along the reno with her, you can decide later on if you feel its better she coordinate or you get it done by someone else

Just verified. The tv console that i saw selling at 1380, 850, 599 are exactly the same. Finishing, quality etc. Confirmed as I examined all the 4 at the 4 different places. Same goes for the sofa.
