How Much Can We Save If We Hire A Contractor Instead Of An Id ?
zhiz replied to purecat's topic in RENOVATION WORKS
You are right. I guess I really appreciate the fact that I can just email or sms my ID and things get done. I dun even have to be on site. Like now, I still getting her to rectify things, like paintjob etc. Just an sms and a few days later go and see and it will be done. Even if paint already and I dont like the color, it can be repainted. I dont have to be on site, monitor the work, and have issues if i try to get them back to rectify. My few times that I gotta meet directly with contractor (installation fan, doors, shelvings) all I had to wait at the half renovated place with nothing to do cos they are not punctual. -
can bargain one, ask for lower price cos outside cheaper (must know the bed names at other shops) or say other shop give more freebies for same price. i got extra mattress protector
-
harvey norman has a $200 off mattress. after a lot of shopping and cross comparison i figured out which sealy bed names are of the same grade among the different shops. then i realise robinson mark up very high for their sales price, even after their member discount plus rebates etc, it was still $200 higher than harvey norman. eventually i got $300 off from HN instead of $200. the bed i eyeing was called monte carlo, provence, knightsbridge, harmony at different shops. they all have a cross reference list and i managed to take a look at it.

I think yours is alumix lah. I check on alumix website
-
oh thanks for informing. you know better than me even though i own it. haha.
-
oh yah quite similar even the pattern and color of the laminate. Mine is Excel brand. Got through ID. I like yours cos you got a movable stack of drawers. Mine cant be customized into that. Hows your drawer depth? Seems a bit shallow also, hard to put things. i thot alumix poles are pretty thick? yours quite slim.
-
Its 11 ft long. It cost me under 2k. This was the cheapest option. if we did a full wardrobe it might cost a lot more. If we really dun like it, we can just simply remove the pole system and customize a proper wardrobe. the pole system can be used in the spare room instead. The poles are quite stable. not sure if its secured to the floor or they secure it really tight against the ceiling and floor. I tested it just now, tried to tug at the structure. Doesnt bulge.

My Pole system wardrobe is up!! I like the skinny poles although its not as sexy as Ximula cos ximula is too ex
