hi Angel...my aircon problem solved le....i went up to the gain city shop(IMM) where i bought my aircon & look for the sales supervisor on the 21/05 cos cant wait for the customer svcs ppl to come back to me with a confirm slot. heehee... Then the sales supervisor very quickly arrange for me on 23/05 installation for the S/S water tray...i received a call from this sales supervisor yesterday asking me hows the tray installation etc...very good service and follow-ups lor.... Now waiting for the HDB officer to call us...i already prepare myself to receive another complaint from downstairs neightbour le....hahaha...

The worst part is Gain City Schedule is so packed that i require a weekend slot for installation of the water tray oso got to wait till June. I am trying hard to get a slot now in 30th May. Cos according to the higher level hdb officer, we must rectify the problem by end May. We cannot afford to take any more leaves...especially now...workloads & work stress....my hubby department from 18 staff retrenched to 5 ppl only. So can you imagine his workload? If he lost his job, is HDB going to give him a job? As for me...my company downsized from 20+ staff to now 6. Maybe they think everyone like them doing nothing just sit in the office wait for complaints!

Hi Adrian_john! Thanks for your advice & help My hubby already sent a letter to the higher level and its the higher level officer replies us not to on the aircon til the problem resolved. They sort of ganged up and want us die lor..hot until die…hahahaha…..but nevermind lah…my hubby already decided to install the water tray liao! He wants to settle everything once and for all…. We will send another email to the higher level hdb officer telling him nothing can be resolved and we will install the water tray. Somehow I m puzzled…If a aircon compressor wont drips water then why there is a thing call water tray? Must be always have this type of complaint then ppl go and invent the tray right? Maybe after this complaint resolve liao…my downstair neightbour will complaint about other things liao…maybe they will complaint my dog walking around my house in the middle of the night and disturb their beauty sleep….and the hdb officer will tell us to wear socks for my dog le…hahaha

hi myownhome...so sorry to hear that...yeak is like tat de..he will do within his means...if he cannot accept means he really cannot. No one will want to chase money away de....Do you have any alternative ID/Contractor besides Yeak?

oic..frankly speaking, yeak really very good....i seldom monitor my house reno during the 5 weeks reno...and i always communicate with yeak using sms...he can sms english de.....hahaha....so no problem when communicate with him. His after sales service is superb oso! No horse run de... Have you seen his workmanship already?

Hahaha...pinklady u so cute....my ah lao just called me earlier tat he decided to pay $95.00 & install the water tray. Dont bother abt the hdb officer le...cos that is the only way to close this complaint case. We just have to be ma fan and keeps checking the tray. I called up gain city and they said eventhough they try to stop the dripping but few months later it will still drips de...cos its very natural to have condensation & drips! Those ppl that dun encounter this dripping problem is either they have the aircon ledge or the neighbour downstairs very qing chai. hahaha...i just laughed and replied the customer service and told her too bad i am not heng enough to have a qing chai neighbour. My house is a 30 years old flat that doesnt come with aircon ledge....maybe i should write in to hdb to consider next time upgrade lifts shun bian upgrade a aircon ledge for us...that will save alot trouble liao....hahaha....

wow...5 scv points!! hahaha...that cost almost $500 le...tian ahh....but me oso kiasu lah...me only 2 bedrooms oso got 3 scv points leh..heehee...

hi adrain_john…think both of us just not so ‘heng’ to have such neighbours. I think you already try your best to accommodate and you have spent money to change to another less noise vacuum cleaner. I think you are lucky to meet an understanding officer…. For my case…we want to spent money ($95) to install the water tray and closed the case cos really very vexed to keep receiving complaint phone calls from the officer. The hdb officers just don’t allow us to do that. He feels that by installing the water tray is not the solution as the compressor still drips water. He wants us to service the compressor until it don’t drips a single drops of water! Can you imagine Gain City and Sanyo also cant do anything as both parties says it will ‘SURE’ drips. But some of the forumers like rondy and angel don’t have such problems…then I believe like DL838 mentioned earlier it might be the installation problem.

Hi poh...ofcos we did ask yeak for discount...i dun remember how much he give but in total at least few hundreds bah and also some freebies lah...we are happy at least he tried to meet close to our budget! Are u considering yeak too?

Hi preciousjam…I still have not taken any pictures yet…will do that when I have time. Actually my house not much things to see lah…cos a lot of the furnitures are old and brought over from my previous house. Due to budget constraints, I didn’t do much carpentry. Heehee…now abit regret cos my tv wires now dangling very ugly in my living area! If got budget should do a tv feature wall to hides wires….but too late le…and already bought a new TV console. Maybe stay for another 4 or 5 years if really wana stay there for long then can always call yeak to do again de…. As for the top cabinets….we stored all the barangs tat is seldom used one on top cabinet. But it’s really very good for storage. I will suggest if u want to do the top ones like mine, ask yeak to install one more plank of wood in between the compartment so that u can organize & take your stuff easiler….I might be asking yeak to add one more piece of wood for one of the top cabinet…err…ofcos will try to ask for foc lah..hahaha…. If tonite I have time will take fotos and show u tomoro…

We wish lor...but Gaincity's schedules normally very pack on Saturday. And we want the HDB officer to be present also & he is not working on saturdays. We also want once and for all but seems like very difficult leh..hahahha....no choice lah...

Yalah...the water leaks not so serious le....From Tap water flowing to few drops dripping....we did our part to rectify but still didnt totally stop the dripping. Now the problems lies with the HDB officer. He told me he called up our neighbour and check and they said better liao only few drips few drips like tat...majiam DL838 case lah...but the HDB officer inisited us to get gain city or Sanyo back again and rectify till no drip! As if we are the boss of the company dont need to work like tat! Already taken 2 days unpaid leaves liao still need to take again....sian lor...

hi angel...the neighbour did come up and tell us the leakage. Then we called up gaincity to check on the leaking and they just replied its normal de cos Condensation. I told Gain City if can install the water tray...they said can buy HDB new rules not allow. We are actually caught in the middle....very vexed you know? Imagine you just shifted in and want a peaceful life but what we got is all these headaches.... Then i write in to HDB regarding all these....and HDB officer called me the next day that my neighbour lodged a complaint liao....before we can do anything....

Hi DL838…thanks for the link. I totally agree with you that Neighbours played a very impt role to happy living. Guessed we are just not as lucky as compared to others like Rondy and Angel. I do believe even we give my downstairs neighbour any good food or stuffs beforehand…if they are calculative they will still give you headaches. That time Sanyo sent us their most experience technician to our place & rectify the problem. He spent at least 20-30mins in our master bedroom ‘arguing’ with the HDB officer. He said there tends to be some drops of water dripping and its very normal de. There is another way to stop the dripping ie. To wrap the piping inside…by doing this the water collected will be stored inside the compressor and will have to be dry by the fan. The lifespan for the compressor will be shortened cos the water will rust the fan coil inside the compressor. We do not want to do this so the Sanyo technician ‘released’ some gas from my compressor. He said maybe too much gas will also cause water leakage. After doing this the water did not flow like tap water but become few drops instead. Maybe your upstair neighbour also does the same as us. I do not have any headache for any inconsiderate neighbour upstairs cos I m staying on the top floor. But the neighbour downstairs already gave us a lot of headaches. We all are just victims……

Hi DL838, Thanks for your explanation. Your case is exactly what my neighbour is complaining about. That means we must keep calling gain city or sanyo to rectify the dripping since rondy, angel and kthc also confirmed their compressor wont drips water. I will try calling gain city later…because the HDB officers give us quite a tight ‘dateline’ to rectify the dripping problem. Thanks guys!

Halo guys….long time didn’t log in liao…have been very busy lately! Move house...packing and unpacking...and the most headache part....we encounter some problem with our SUPER yim jim (calculative) neighbour! I received a complaint case from HDB that the neighbour below us saying our air con compressor drips likes running tap water. They claimed that they are light sleepers so the water dripping sound kind of disturbs their sleep. I have arranged GainCity & Sanyo to come and rectify the dripping problem but both parties said it is normal to have water drip from the outdoor compressor (due to condensation). The only solution is to install the water tray under the compressor (that cost me $95). HDB officers DO NOT allow us to install the water tray and insist us to contact either Gain City or Sanyo to come back and resolve the problem AGAIN. I have been having a lot of paper wars with the HDB officers and they are very firm to want us ‘NOT’ to on our air con until the dripping problem rectifies…..I feel tat this is too much…and i m not going to listen cos we cant sleep without air con too! Me and hubby had been trying our very best to co-operate with the HDB officer & we also took unpaid leaves just to wait for the service guy from Gain City and Sanyo to check on the compressor. Both parties told the HDB officer it’s normal to have water dripping but the HDB officer just ignored them and insist the outdoor compressor WILL NOT drip water. Can I check with you all….Does your air con compressor (outdoor) drips water? Appreciate your comments...

really ahh...that time when i am sourcing for a 3 room unit...purposely look ard my mum in law area...but super shocked to know the valuation is $310K for high floor unit lor...sianz....so my agent told us not to waste so much $$ so he help us look for a unit at ave 6 but still within walking distance to my in law house one...valuation at $258K (no utility rm). My in laws block is at 34X...super near to amk hub...shelter all the way...rain oso no fear! My house oso shelter all the way to amk hub & mrt....but must walk under the shops in amk central lah...heehee.... i didnt combine 2 toilets together...cos budget contraints...and oso not practical....scared next time sell house ppl might hiam cos only 1 toilet! heehee....but hor can tell u the master toilet SUPER small....dun need to install water heater inside...waste $...your reno complete already?

Hmm...no lunch time....sunday i will normally cook at home...dun worry! My block is right beside block 128. As for tv....I placed my 37 inch TV on the wall facing my 3 seater sofa...still ok leh...not narrow...but might not be able to place a big tv console or coffeetable lah...and oso cannot place L shape sofa...cos will make your living very cramp de! I still have not get a TV console...so u must be prepared will see alot wires hanging in my living area...hahah....quite a mess actually!
