De Marque Espace Design
Misty replied to Lost's topic in Renovation Contractors, Interior Designers & Suppliers Reviews
Hi Holaz Thanks for taking the time to update me. I really appreciate it. I have asked from other quotations from other IDs. I will definitely not use De Marque. I feel your heart pain and sorry you had to go through all this kind of shoddy work. Hope you get some discount from Eddie. -
Hi Ivy, please feel free to use it. No approval required. Hee.....

My attention span super short so couldn't concentrate on the long speech. Never mind, I know what I believe. So I ignore the babbling.

This section of the forum states "Geomancy/Fengshui". For non-believers of geomancy/feng shui, are you here to satisfy your curosity, queries you need answers to or to laugh/condemn/ridicule? It is alright for you not to believe, but leave the believers, to our "doom" of believing in geomancy/ feng shui. Respect others in whatever their beliefs may be and not pooh-pooh members for coming in to exchange ideas and share information.

This is what I do too and I have 2 boxes, one for oral medication eg panadols, flu tabs, etc. and the other for muschle rub, Burnol, saline (for washing wounds), plasters, etc. For boxes with a big red cross, pharmacies would have but like Merydith says, very basic stuff.

Can ask your friend where exactly did he/she buy it from and share it with us? Thanks!

You are right that Eddie takes the measurements and pass it on to Ah Ping. De Marque Espace Design does renovation for condos so don't need HDB licence. According to Eddie, they hardly do HDB, that's why they don't need HDB licence. I do love Ah Ping's work, his finishing quite good but can I take a risk and end up with more problems? Hm... maybe by pass Eddie then go to Ah Ping directly? LOL! -
Not yet. I'm waiting for renovation to start before I go and buy. I'm worried if I'm buy them now, I would misplaced them as I would need to pack my stuff up for the renovation.

Sounds like a painful renovation to me. Till date, he still has not gave me his quote and I'm patiently waiting cos I am trying to get another quote from another ID. He really convinced me that he is very capable cos he seems to understand what I want and showed me he knows his stuff. Thanks for sharing your info. Did you know he is not on the HDB approved contractors. I asked him about this and he said his sub cons have the necessary HDB licence. Now I really must think thrice about engaging him cos I am asking him to do my kitchen cabinets as well..... He did do some minor capentry work for me and I love the work of his capenter, Ah Ping, that's why I went back to him for a quote this time round. -

Inconsiderate Neighbours
Misty replied to Air's topic in Moving House: Packing, Storing, Moving To Your New House
Tried calm before and it doesn't work. My upstairs China neighbour throw cigeratte butt onto my aircon compressor never mind, not extinguish so ended up burning a hole in the rubber mat I placed on the compressor to lessen the tip tapping sound of rain or dripping from upstairs. On most nights, I can smell cigeratte smoke in my room. I also found toothpicks, tissues, plastic pieces, etc.... everyday, there is something new. Dripping mop or laundry, stomping around or drilling in the night, talking loudly or screaming at child, plastic pails being thrown around, better still, when they water plants, it would be like raining for the neighbours living below. Went up, nicely tell them sorry to disturb u ar but hor this or that. Always claim not them. Even dripping laundry also say not them but I can see from my window lor. Still say not them. When I return to my house, magically the bamboo with dripping laundry disappears to appear in the next couple of days. Oh! Lagi best one is they wash their toilet windows using water hose and water all splash onto my master bedroom laminated flooring. I screamed at them to stop. They did this on a bright sunny day..... How like this? Every 2 days go up and slow talk to them? What happen if one day I so `heng', the wind blows and the lighted cigeratte butt flies into my room and light up my room? I have not found a solution but wish one day, this neighbour would become considerate. -

Remember more than a year ago, how you slammed me about being a ghost writer when I shared my experiences. Now you understand what I went through. Not laughing at your misery, cos I totally understand the shoddy work done by their subcons and how the ID don't supervised their subcons. There are a few hollow tiles in my house and they chipped 2 kitchen floor tiles. When I asked the ID to redo them, the excuse he gave for not re-doing it is that when the subcon take out the hollow tiles or replace the chipped tiles, it would affect the tiles surrounding the tile they have to remove. So what is the use of the ID ordering so many extra tiles (think I still have 4 packs of each tiles still sitting in my storeroom)? The wiring for my alter table had burnt out so many times (the bulbs even burst) and I had to get their electrician to come to replace. In the end I got an external electrician to solve the problem. I don't even want to talk about their capentry work which will make me boils. Waiting for a few more years and I will definitely do a re-renovation. Oh! The a few pieces of the skirting tiles in my living room came out 2 years back. I didn't bother to call them, just DIY cos I don't want to deal with them any more. It is my luck to deal with that particular ID and I had to do a rush job at that time of my renovation. Learnt a tiring and valuable lesson. -
Bought mine at Ikea. Bought a whole set (in a box). Can microwave and dishwasher safe (not that I use a dishwasher), so far so good. All I can say is cheap and good. The only grouse I have is that they don't have a matching large soup bowl.

Bought 2 items from V.hive on 2 different occassions. A display cabinet (5 years ago) and a full length mirror (2 years ago), touch wood, no problems. I agree that the quality is not the best but one shouldn't expect tiptop quality for the prices one pay for at V.hive.
