  1. Most house wife compliant about bad suction on their bagless vacuum cleaner after a while. This is because they fail to clean/wash the first and second filters in their vacuum cleaner. First filter - takes care of the coarse dirt Second filter - takes care of the fine dust Knocking the 2nd filter on a solid surface helps to dislodge the dust in the filter
  2. 1. Soak with lighter fluid; keep away from open flame. 2. Use a plastic ruler/plastic putty knife to scrap off the tape. Do not use the sharp corners of ruler/putty knife; use the flat side and tilt at 45 degrees. Note: Don't use too much pressure otherwise you'll remove the paint from wall.
  3. If you want it cheap, use the perspex sliding screen. The people who make bi-fold doors will be able to do it. It's not as nice as tempered glass.
  4. I don't know about valuation, but a good coat of paint and a good clean up will get you a buyer fast.
  5. Pay after the 2nd appointment; when you get the keys. If you pay them early, they'll generally start getting sloppy.
  6. The Carrier Man Can. http://www.carrier.com.sg/Download/WonderU...-%2051CS007.pdf
  7. Some red or black in the kitchen will not affect the Feng Shui of the house substantially but if you paint your whole house red or black the property will have excessive Fire Qi or Water element (if it is black).
  8. The bathroom, kitchen, service balcony have a slight gradient towards the drain hole but not the living room, dining room, study and bedroom. This man is a con.
  9. I'm quite sure the HDB window is not parallel from top to bottom. Most experience window grill supplier will use a 1.5" to 2" frame to conceal the bad alignment and mount grill on the wall instead.
  10. Another possibility is bad water proofing of your roof; the moisture from the damp ceiling may be causing the ceiling lamp to leak to earth.
  11. When the circuit breaker trip, the first thing to ask is: 1. which was the last electrical equipment I switch ON 2. Does it trip every time I use the same piece of equipment If it's the same piece of equipment, than it's likely that it's the cause of the problem. Overloading is normally cause by high wattage equipment e.g. water heater, electric lettle, oven, microwave oven etc.
  12. Get the agent to do it. They know their products well, they have the right spare parts. If you get the wrong guy, they can do a sloppy job or mess things up.
  13. Location is important. Up until 2043, the Southwest, East, North and Southeast are safe sectors to locate the small water feature. If the water feature is big e.g. fountain, big aquarium, fish pond, waterfall; it's best to consult a FSM.
  14. Draw two lines from opposite corners of the house. Where the lines intersect is the center of the house.
  15. The compass is use to establish the facing of your apartment (there are 24 facing) From the facing you get the Qi map of your apartment i.e. the good and bad Palaces (there are 8 Palaces) in your apartment. Note: An apartment with good Qi map can be negatively affected by External Form e.g. "T" junction, curvature of road, menancing objects infront of door. So you need to access the External Form before to even start accessing the Internal Form.
  16. DIY Feng Shui involve: 1. Evaluation of External Forms within a parameter of 2km e.g. hills, river, water tower, antenna tower, chimney, trees, pond etc 2. Evaluation of building; is the building conducive to receiving good Qi. 3. Evaluation of unit; check the Flying Star at main door, kitchen and bedroom if they are located in the correct Palace. 4. Evaluation of the unit's Internal Form; looking for negative features such beams or sharp corners that can affect your main door, kitchen and bedrooms.
  17. You don't want the Qi to rush from the main door to the bedroom. Qi should meander/flow slowly from your main door to the living room, dinning room, kitchen and bedroom. That's why people usually put a partition between the main door and the other areas of the house to slow down the Qi. Qi must meander and not rush thru a house/apartment.
  18. The Facing Direction is needed to plot the Qi map of the property. In feng Shui, there are 24 directions that a building can face. Each of the main directions (North, south, East, West, *, Northeast, Southwest, Southeast) is further tri-sected into 3 sub-directions.
  19. Can you really mount a fan to a false ceiling?
  20. All fans will perform better if they are installed in an enclosed enviroment. The moment you move the same fan it to an open area, you'll compliant that it's ineffective. Walls help to bounce the air back, as such you'll feel that it's more powerful.
  21. A 3-blade will have to rotate faster to move the same volume of air as a 5-blade - that's why more noise.
  22. Some people say shelves represent Sha Qi as they look like cutting blade. This is not true, you can have shelves in your bedroom. We do not want mirror infront of our bed because we do not want to frighten ourselves when we sit up and see our reflection suddenly, especially in low light. Feng Shui is a practical science and most of all it is a science of common sense.
  23. Those lights you have chosen are very hard to clean.
  24. Suggest you focus on observing the forms and leave the formula to the consultant. General form guidelines 1. Main door must not be affected by “poison arrows” e.g. edge of buildings, lamp post, tree, narrow gap 2. Square and rectangle layout are better than odd shape 3. House should not have any missing sectors 4. Building main door must be bright, spacious (bright hall) to collect Qi 5. Unit must not face narrow gap formed by two opposite blocks 6. Unit should be near but not facing the lift 7. Apartment should have windows on all sides if possible; better flow of Qi 8. Main door must not be in-line with back door 9. Main door must not face fire escape or rubbish chute 10. Building must not be on stilts; avoid the 2nd floor if there's no 1st floor 11. Avoid building that has a straight road crashing into it 12. Avoid building that access lift lobby via basement car park 13. Avoid highway cutting into building 14. Avoid building located at the fork of a road 15. Avoid wedge shape and narrow building 16. Avoid building where you have no idea where the main entrance is 17. Elevated main entrance is generally not favourable because the main door is located too high and cannot receive Qi 18. Kitchen should not be in the center of house 19. Sink must not face stove 20. Sink and stove must be at least 1 to 2 feet apart 21. Kitchen door must not open directly towards stove 22. Do not locate stove under beam this cause fluctuation of Qi and the stove will be violently affected. 23. Do not sleep under a beam 24. Position the headboard of bed against a wall
  25. 5-Room - approximately $700 to $800.
