  1. haha. Sounds like they havent changed much in all these years. They were the first company I went to a few years ago when I wanted to renovate my previous place. I spent over an our talking to some guy there, and after all was said he promised to send me a quote......never heard from him, and just as well I suppose.
  2. Yes, I have horizontal wooden blinds that run from the top of the window down to the floor. No issue at all with it flapping around or being blown by the wind. They are heavy enough to withstand the wind. I've tried other window dressings such as curtains and roller blinds in my previous home. Roller blinds don't really block out the sun unless you get those with the black out material, but then that doesn't allow any light in. It's ok for the bedroom, I suppose, if you want to take a nap in the afternoons, but I've found the horizontal wooden blinds to be the best so far as it enables you to adjust the amt of light you want to have enter the room, as well as the direction. The blades or blinds come in different sizes. The ones I have are 2 inches each. The other thing I like about it is that they're easy to clean. Unlike curtains and roman blinds, you don't have to take them down to be washed. I just run one of those 'magic' duster thingys that dirt sticks to and, voila, they're all nice and clean again.
  3. pretty sure it's not wallpaper.....
  4. horizonal blinds. That''ll allow you to block out and/or redirect the sunlight, and at the same time allow for air to circulate.
  5. Had the same problem many years ago at a previous home. lasted for a few months and then.........no more. Don't know the cause or the cure? I'm interested to know now that you've raised it. It was a brand new apartment , so I don't know if that might have had something to do with it?
  6. Sounds like someone forged Mrs seller's signature then. In which case, that person could be in a heap of trouble.
  7. I suppose they need to supplement the maintenance or sinking fund. Look at it this way, As long as the money goes into the coffers to upkeep and maintain the development, then it's not really a bad thing. With 18 units they'll need to find alternative ways of raising money ways to upkeep the area.
  8. Same here. Never had to pay an admin charge for any of the apts i renovated previously. Even the security deposit is usually not deposited/cashed by the managing agt/mc. Cheque is just held by them and returned to you aft renovation is done as long as no damage is done to the common property
  9. Just about any hardware store should sell them
  10. Yes, about time. Too many unscrupulous and unethical agents out there. once had a co-broke agent come over to my house with a client and when my own agent wasnt looking, and without asking permission started to take pics of the house. I noticed and told him to delete every single picture in my presence.
  11. I would imagine that the similarity between fengshui and a good design is common sense. but then again I could be wrong
  12. Hi. sorry my ID engaged the PE and billed me for it. Pls pm me if you would like my IDs contact.
  13. Yes i absolutely agree. Even us poor and artistically illiterate have to draw the line somewhere.... and I draw the line there.
  14. Yes the ballerina ones are nice. Artist is Binh(sp) I believe. My friend bought one of his paintings when we were there too. She's a pretty avid art collector and bought some better known paintings. Me, I just need to fill my walls.
  15. Yes. If living in a condo, the condo mgt will usually require you to provide a PEs endorsement. I believe for HDB you are requred to get their apprvoval before carrying out any reno. the PE fee should not cost you more than $200-300 dollars to certify that the wall is safe to be knocked down. If I recall correctly, I paid about 300 to the PE through my ID to certify my entire renovation which included knocking down 3 walls
  16. The money is not given to the seller but held by his lawyer until completion.
  17. Your lawyer should give his lawyer a cashiers order, so it's as good as cash.
  18. Thanks Morgan. The information is very helpful.
  19. It sounds like it could be marks rather than scratches. Don't think plastic would be harder than tiles.
  20. i agree. definitely level it if you can.
