i thought the console is suspended. u put glass top, safe enough for the kids? I can forsee my active boy and monkey gal climbing on the things so I try to refrain from glass tops :x About Ah Wei, he is very confident of his worksmanship. I quite like him being very straight forward. Can do, he say, cannot do he will also say. at least better than do liao regret. I have his number. U want? hehe...

Precious, it is not possible. Even 8 June is quite a rush for them. they will try to at least have my altar, tv feature, and all 3 wardrobes up first. If they can complete at least the feature wall, and 3 wardrobes next week, I will be very happy already!

i sense the reno that you are facing now. before I pop by PR yesterday, I was like you. So tired and weary to even think about coordinating., but still have to do it. You can tell Uncle or Boh Geh, he also working very late. Yesterday he met us to collect payment as Uncle was at the eastern part of SG, he met me around 10.30pm and he told Hubby he is going off to woodlands and another place. Gosh..even with 2 PMs, Uncle is still over stretched, so are his guys.
-
aubrey, I think your might be the same guy as growler. Uncle mentioned will get Ah Wei to do Ivy's carpentry and he is back in Msia since yesterday...
-
Thanks folks! To be honest, this is the FIRST time so far that Uncle's scheduled progress is ahead by 1 day. Usually it is delayed. So I am really happy that managed to keep at least one thing ahead of schedule. I have quite a fair bit of carpentry works, so I hope that can also be kept within the timeline too. I need to call the furniture shops, electrial shops etc and tell them to change my delivery. Initial HO for me is actually next week
-
Ivy, u need to let the carpenter know that you are going to place a safe box in the console. The console must be able to support the weight of the safe over time

aiyo...u better turn in early...i also gotta go catch my beauty sleep and pray hard progress will be good and will pop by new place and see...shoo shoo! go sleep!

initially i kept thinking your layout is like mine..so can hack, but nono...I mistaken. If hack will make cleaning and packing of the kitchen a chore.

hehe, Pet, that's the tile that I got uncle to cut into half to use as strips on the pebble wash on both the entrance of the L2 toilet and the entrance pebble wash it actually has some bling bling effect, but I am unable to capture the bling once my place is in a "showroom" condition, i can invite u over see see since u are not too far ya

that space looks huge! hey, I think overhaul is quite a good idea too! Giving it a fresh new look

seeing cardbaord on the floor??? he is hallucinating for sure! Hope smooth smooth from now!

COOL!!! I think tho we complain a bit here and there, which everyone does due to the reno stress, ultimately we still very much prefer uncle as he is a really sincere and kind hearted man. Let's just move on from here...we can feel the special "friendship" uncle's clients have ya tho most of us has never met.
-
Thanks thanks! Yes, I feel much better already. Perked up instantly when I saw the progress right on track! hehe, yes it will be done tomorrow and I will pop by on sunday to take pictures!! yours too precious!

I went up to PR again today. Do you know what I see? The entrance where the pebblewash flooring will be... in the living room... a close up on my cove lightings... MBR Cove light the entrance on my L2 common toilet... I am very happy to see this progress actually! Uncle says to do false ceilings and completed by today (DONE!), followed by flooring tomorrow and saturday...but when I called Uncle, he said the floor will be done tomrrow and next will be painting of the base for the whole house! One thing very funny, I guess too many people asked him about my quotes and when I called him, and he picked up the phone, he immediately said "好了好了!我很忙,所以没空找你。" But we found out that the L1 common toilet is leaking, and I asked the plumber to change a tap for me, he didn't do so, and that faulty tap is still leaking. Uncle said he is going up to check (Uncle is at my place as I type this post). My progress seems rather on track now...so I am hoping that the HO will not be affect too.

Hi Lazydevil My reno started. my store is under the stairs, small and can't really store many things. I have something in mind, you can check out my T blog. carpentry not up yet, but i do have some drawings for you to take a look. -
i actually spoke to uncle about the recent happenings. Told him to retain good workers and reject if he is over stretched. He is ever so sincere...what he said touched me, I shared with Ivy before. He knew we all wanted to build a dream house. It is only a matter of how many dollars we can throw in. If with that amount we have, and he can help us build one close to our dream, he'd rather earn very little and make more people happy, why not? Frankly, he even intend to close down his factory just to spend more time to manage his projects. He just need some adjustments by the overwhelming works. Give him some time. We chatted about some uits with problems, he said he will try his best to rectify. Sometimes workers issue also tricky. But workers who doesn't perform, he sack! No second thoughts! When I decided to meet him initially, I had my reserves too. I was never angry that uncle misses my appointments, I had my fair share too. Just some frustrations sometimes lah. Actually my quote has a difference of more than $10k. Hubby's rationale is, $10K can buy us many things. So we just need to manage a little more. In fact, it was mainly me running up and down.

I learnt alot from lawry's updates before. his was designed by some well-known ID and lotsa hiccups and not really fantastic design ideas too! It is just a matter that probably Uncle gets too famous, expectations gets higher and thus when things happen, people tends to notice his faults more than the good. Wendy did mention the Goods of uncle and of cos there are also areas that needs to improvements. Uncle's quality can actually be better than some IDs I must say. Not all, but some. Not to side him, he is seriously looking into managing the projects more actively. Since we have choosen him due to that 5 figure difference in the price, we just got to keep a watchful eye. Designs wise...Uncle's customers will usually have the concept as we do not reallyr ely on Jason or uncle to come up with ID standard of designs.

he told me he'll out of town? He is going back to Msia. Fondue, thanks for the tinker. I think I am quite comfortable as I kept asking him to show me exactly the depth. the height when he mentioned to me verbally So he showed me, using the measuring tape. Do you have your cabinet dimensions in your blog? maybe I can see see as reference?
-
Thanks Wendy! Frankly I am hoping they can tell me exactly when to install the lights so that I can take leave and station myself there to make sure they do it correctly. As for bathroom accessories, I hope they can arrange for the same day. I am beginning to feel tired already. West-town-east is no joke. My time with my kids are sriously compromised to make sure things are in place, and progress is well.
-
hmm...i agree with u. after seeing that it'll "over-expose" your kitchen, I think your disgreement to hack that wall is right.
-
this reminded me I really need to go and check on my progress today no matter what...supposed to see my false eiling ALL DONE UP, hopefully and keeping my fingers crossed that is is up.
-
cool it, aubrey! I know it's tough, how about changing all the switches like Wendy's suggestion? The elect guy, i assume it's the same guy who did my place, says if I buy, they will change! I hold their words! Why not call Uncle and check with him? He also know his elect workers giving him headache.
-
aubrey, ask for exact measurements to help visualise. Many forummers here have very good insight in such things and are able to offer very good suggestions.
-
aubrey I am lost for words already. Jason so far quite ok, just that he dun pre-empt any possible problems/implications on certain designs. I went into details with Ah Wei, so I am more "zai" now. I think mine should have lesser problems since ah wei metnioned that he will call me directly if any changes needed.
