u can try speaking to uncle to ask ah di to show you his works? I know what u mean, we paid the same money yet the sub-con gave such works. don't feel sad yet...since ah di has yet to do anything, things can still be discussed.
-
if your works can take thier weight, u are safe! I also saw one big guy climbing up and down, but i still kpo especially with sub-cons, even if i know ah wei delivers, I better play safe by fiddling with the stuff yup, i was the one who sent the pictures to ah wei. initally wanted a glass at the front, dismissed the idea later on when i came to terms that no one will pay attention to the drawers in the wardrobe after the clothes and doors are up. hehe... the study table's edge is Hubby's idea...he scared our little boy knock himself as he is more active then my gal. Initially I was afraid it'll look really bulky, but glad that it blended well with the whole design.

the wardrobe hor, i pluck the idea from CD and CR :x I love their wardrobe esp the pole system, after much deiberation, decided to do it my way as the pole system has no backing, really not easy to stack clothes. So a bit here and there makes up my wardrobe. aubrey, don't get upset. probably ah di is good too? I think after the saga u had, uncle will be very cautious with the carpenters too. in fact, i find the doufu darwer too thick. I thought i would be better to look thinner since it carries less heavy load.

Pet, maybe u should switch line...maybe can offer help to uncle? hehe... bring his biz to even higher heights

Indeed it is solid, so it has got nothing to do with Uncle's quality, sometimes those sub-cons just trying their luck thinking the owners knew nothing. I captured another picture on the layers of the wood, bt somehow that picture is very blur so I didn't post it. We tried lifting the wood and indeed, it is very solid. I was knocking and playing with the things when the guys were so busy! Hubby even chided me for messing around! Told him I just wana QC the quality that I am getting so far, I am happy with this and they guys were all serious even when installing the soft closing, they tried and tested several times to make sure it works well

hmm...which part looks thick? I didn't make any special request actually. part of the thickness for top shelving is due to the laminates that are not folded in/glued in. Others generally ok. for the part on the LHS of the basket, there is a pull out mirror, that's why that part is thicker.
-
wah...you eyes very sharp hor! Yes, there will be a pull out for mirror...I saw how it was done and i really LOVE it!!! I thought it was so nicely concelaed that no one notices...heheh

Pet, I am a very visual person. That is why I cannot build castle in the air on the storeroom part, i agree with u, our previous staore was full of un-needed stuff as hubby inherited his mommy's "oh, don't throw" "virtue"...for me, and my mom, we throw and throw those that are not needed so a small store is a good excuse to get rid of stuff that are not really useful to keep. usually carpenter will get you the blum under contractor's pricing. At least i know smallboy's and mine are like that the trouser rack, hafale is ex...so long good quality, I actually do not mind paying more as it is meant to last for a few good years thanks thanks...hope Hubby finds it useful. he always thinks I am after all those gadgets Thanks...I am already loving whatever I had seen yesterday!

good to hear the progress is good! I also quite like joseph (he says he dun mind me calling him bo geh), he is very prompt in rectifying the mistakes and i can see uncle's shadow in him. one of my tile supposed to be rectified was not done yet, in the end, Ah hock installed the bi-fold door. He quickly said will remove the door to rectify no matter what he also noted my o/s issues! Hopefully this time round they can do it nicely for u! finally sense some happiness in your updates!

hmmm...my mom would prefer to hide! hehe...I also prefer to hide. So no issue with us. unless we do religiously keep the bowls and plates after they are dried, else dust will settle fast too. my MIL's have most of her bowls and plates on the dish rack...takes up lotsa space too.

Pet, u are back in action! Glad that everything was ok regarding the recess. i think taking HDB loan should have lesser hassle?

thanks thanks! The wardrobe looks kinda small actually I wish I have a WIW like many of u does...too bad, my layout doesn't allow that Wendy, the blum hor...i copied part of your idea! but i added 2 S4 in there for pots and pans
-
thanks thanks...my fave part of the house till now. The rack is less than $50 if I am not wrong, alternatively, there is a hardware shop at bukit timah selling at good price too they are also authorised dealers to sell Blum but for the trouser rack, i think carpenter should be able to source for u.
-
looking good! my polish is also done and i love the new matt look!
-
i prefer white tiles actually. looks bright and neat
-
so long as we dun cheat him, he should be fine

that's the store room. EM's store is like that... for the trouser rack, the carpenter got it for me at a good price. Love it, so got him one. I think this will be really handy.
