After renovating abt 3 yrs ago and now decided to do up a new warerobe for my bb room. Logged into reno talk, read this thread and really cant help but wana comment.. Firstly everyone felt that cheap stuffs dun come gd. Do you all know the profit margin of contractors and IDs? Well search my thread and reno I have done. All less then $15k SGD at tat time with full softclosing hindges, thick ply wood and full height mirrors (shoe cabinate, tv consoles, master bedroom warerobe) everywhere in my house. FYI $15,800k includes homogenous tiles. Mine is a 4 room flat. My extra electrical and tv points are all given free. I still kept the full receipts. In SG, the profit margin has been raised high high. I am a IT professional, not contractors or IDs. I am not here to say any contractors are good or bad and wont give the contacts of my ex contractor (i checked with him and he started to charged sky high prices now, telling me the old price he quoted are no longer relavant). Dun understand the expensive is good mindset. I can only say, frds who visit my place, will squeeze their b@lls when they know how much they have paid for their reno incomparison to mine at that point of time.The materials used, thickness of wood, etc are all of better quality as compared to my frds'. But of cos, if its service one is after, the ID is the way to go. U pay for the service. The forum admin can even arrange a gathering jus like all car forums to prove the existance of some members here. hahahaha... I am willing to show myself if there are any doubts on abt me. Nothing to hide.

Hi Can I confirm if F10 can be used for HDB master bedroom door? As specified in the Gateman F10 specifications, it states that the door thickness has to be 40mm minimally. For my door, I have measured that it is only 35mm. I do not wish to have additionally metal brackets installed to make up for the thickness, which will make my door look ugly. Can confirm? Thanks

Hi I have need to diy switch replacement. can anyone assist with pictures how to remove the rocker swicth. I am also facing the same problem of being able to ply open the face plate but do not know how to open the rocker switch. Really hope someone can help with some pics or diagrams on how to ply and from where to prevent damages. thanks thanks

As of today, the walls has been removed and tilings are almost done up. Will update again once I took pics of the floorings and newly erected walls.

These are the pics of my newly done up false ceiling... Pretty satisfied with the results of the false ceiling:

As you all can see below, the wirings arent properly planned and the contractor intend to hide the wiring behind the shoe cabinate. I have the false ceiling in place and i do not understand y they need to giv me trunckings routing like tis. I rejected it and as them to re route. by then, the false ceiling is already up and they hav to cut 2 holes on my nicely done out false ceiling : Wiring without false ceiling: Wiring with false ceiling and original removed. The solid red box indicated the holes they did which i forgot to take pics:

Hi All Firstly I need to thank all the forummer who gave me so much details on their contractor, materials and info I needed. Decided to start a Reno Blog of my new house with all the progress. Choose a contractor over ID due to budget. Met this contractor at the void deck of my new place and went to at least 5 households (his ex customers near bedok interchange) to see the skills. Overall pretty satisfied with his previous work and ex customers' comments. Was Contemplating between Ah Soon and this contractor and chose his instead due to the price and also bcos even during quotation, Ah soon is not really contactable and caused me some frustration. Cross my fingers as I did not get any review of this contractor when I seek comments in Renotalk. For all forummer whom are not rushing, will be gd to let me update the progress, if his service is gd, bad, etc before I give you his contacts as my reno will only start next week.
