  1. yeah then u can save money lor. but u dun tell him i teach you, to squeeze hor, haha. then the money saved can buy nicer designer furniture or lightings.
  2. wahahaha, i actually made a mistake! July and June. aiya. since you still got 3 to 4 more weeks. you still got plenty of time now. go and read more lookbox, Home and Decor magazines, roughly get some colour schemes and carpentry ideas. and saliva over all the nice nice ex ex furniture too. btw, i like your white diamond shaped like tiles. looks special. how much it costs?
  3. yeah leh yeah leh, u better chase him and ask you to give you many many FOC things. when u call him one? i also tried to squeeze him to death, dun care leh. just be more thick-skinned lor Actually like what the previous forummers said, the installation of various electricals and lightings, can ask them to give you foc lor. see wat the contractors and IDs will say.
  4. so how's your quotes so far? wow, you havent start reno, already 8 pages. if start oredi hor, then 25 pages! your thread is red hot
  5. but during my reno process, i have also encountered a few contractors who called themselves "Design ID Contractors" which i find it very very confusing too. now i know how to differentiate becos i have been thru the entire process. I asked them so and so colours, plus this laminate looks good in my kitchen or not? Most of the answers i got where "Huh"? not sure, you are the owner you chooose leh! that's why quite fed up with those contractors who disguise themselves as IDs when in fact they are not. the prices dun even come cheap too. anyway, if you really encounter contractors, who have a flair for colour-dination and with superb pricing and designs thrown in, grab them quickly! no harm taking them up
  6. did you asked your ID for an earth tone colours throughout the whole house? it seems like in every picture, there are so many brown colours present. why not the TV , get white in colour, and your feature wall get red colour? it will look nicer that way. Your shoe cabinets, can get white and black colour. looks striking
  7. the way your contractor added is definitely wrong. the last VOs should be caculated on the extra things that you have added by metres or by sq meters etc. Net amt added into the 10%>? that's the 1st time i have heard. he's just trying to get more extra money out from you leh! btw, i think you shouldn't have thrown out the entire set of tiles. should you kept at least a few pieces of the tiles each, so that next time, if you wana replace some worn out parts, you can still do it.
  8. oh yeah hor, i blur blur. but he/she didn't update on the new reno quotes leh
  9. Your red dinning chairs really look very designer like and adds colour to your dinning area. Very nice. btw, your bedrooms pictures are too big size.
  10. yes, i find that contractor and ID got differences. Contractor, you tell him to do this this this, he will just follow accordingly. But you can save costs on that. ID, will give out colour co-ordinations, space planning, furniture matching, tiles etc etc. but slightly more ex. My ID is quite an easy going guy, quite a lot of stuff he throw in FOC for me, close 1 eye and then open 1 eye. Most IDs just wana chop carrot head rite? but my one, will not.
  11. you finished sourcing around for quotes oredi? since your thread was 2 mths ago?
  12. yeah, and ask thick-skinned a bit. like some small small stuff, ask them to give you foc. like certain hinges or what, ask them to give you free leh. or for the painting part, ask them to use a better brand/quality paint, the corrugated paper for laying on your floor when they do hacking, foc etc etc. all these small small things will add up to a lot.
  13. i have already done laminates for my house. the whole living room area and the 3 of the rooms too. my is a 4 room flat. My brand is Pergo, the lowest range in the Pergo family. quite good aftersales svc too. i am quite pleased with them. you can go to my T-Blog to take a look at the laminate pictures there. If you want to save money, i suggest you go directly to the supplier to ask/get a quote from them. then it will be cheaper in this way.
  14. i can see that the hacking costs and the bi-fold door is very cheap. any more hidden costs? try to find out more before you commit to the dotted line
  15. yeah i agree. maybe you can try out the very famous uncle here in RT or my ID lor. wat you think?
  16. but then, i seriously doubt they will really honour 25 yrs of guarantee lor....
  17. do you need my ID contact? when you moving in now? now oredi July liao leh
  18. yeah as soon as possible, becoz sourcing and asking around for quotations from ID and contractors takes a lot of time. roughly about 1 to 2 mths to filter out if possible.
  19. my wardrobe and small tv console from them so far so good leh. *touch wood* i have bought them for about 2 to 3 mths oredi. i liked my wardrobe a lot. outselling easily selling about $1k plus plus. my was only $799.
  20. i have bought some smaller items from them too. still quite all right. i bought at AMK Vhive last time.
  21. oh i know where liao. its blk 4xx right? then you are very lucky, can cut the COV. mind sharing the flat value?
  22. wah very relaxing theme. i like your resort style. sure dun feel like going out after u reach home!
  23. Hi guys, my ID had done a great job for my house. you all may go to my T-Blog to see. Want to consider him?
  24. your white white world is really looking so....niceeeee. i like your bay windows, for the study room a lot leh. then i found out that we are using the same washing machine too. that guy who is hiding at a corner, is your hubby?
  25. yes, i think its best if you can open your windows a bit to let the fresh air to come in. i am using a green colour packaging of washing powder to wash my clothes, so far so good. even if weekdays i am working, and airing my clothes indoors, it also got no smell. but i forgot what's that brand already. or else wash your clothes on a wkday nite, and clip the clothes on the bamboo, wait next morning then take it in again. it will be 80% dry already.
