mayb ask a carpenter to quote?? i understand from my carpenter that they norm quote the normal price, then they deduct off the usual $50 per pcs x how many nos of metallic laminate you use.. for eg. if your cabinet uses 3 pieces of metallic laminate, it will be ( 3 x $188 - 3 x $50), that is the extra material cost you need to pay if you have choosen a $188 metalic series...the trimming at side if you use silver abs oso got additional cost de..

mayb u try going to sgp expo when they have home exibit..can get as many quote as possible as there r many ID firms in it.. save you trouble go here and there.. remb dont be pressure to signed any packages from them.. a lot of them got alot hidden cost ya...later you can workout your budget from the quote..then you can look out for direct contact... at forum there is alot of recommendation..tryout oso ya.. i oso have contractor and carpenter tat do my hse..if interesred can ask them to quote for you..

may i ask r u the owner or contractor?? i noe a old uncle who is a very well experials marble / homogeneous tile layer.but he desnt want to work with contractor lor.. he say they alws owe him money lor...

my carpenter charges me $200 pfr .. actualy like wat others said..there is no fixed pricing for TV cabinet and feature wall.it all depends on the design, used of materials lor, for xample like got mirror/glass, special design pattern board or laminates etc etc...

think you cant blame the ID who quoted you so high as he is working in ID firm..he need to markup ???% inorder to earn commission ...Didnt you compare prices B4 commitment?? think there r some clause in the agreemnt tat protect them from being small claim by customer if they cancel.. most of the ID firm dont give hardcopy of 3d drawings unless you commit with them and paid a certain $... they oso scared wait you get the drawing and went ard asking for quotations..

:notti:mayb a carpenter can help you to save up more lor.. i can recommend you my carpenter if you r interested..tink he has HDB licence oso wor.. he got a designer helping him so you may get a designer taste but direct carpenter price..

..you can try my carpenter maybe..he has a designer used to work in ID firm B4.,can give you advise..my kitchen cabinet was done up at $185 pfr..remember was told if i want blum hinges, he will buy and charge me accordingly..but i didnt as i dont need the slow closing type..

ID firm you need to pay higher price as they have a showroom to maintain lor... contractor is not that bad..most ID firm they sub-out the works to contractor to do.. so if you can find a contractor with ID base, then you can get a gd price for doin up your dream house..can request to "view" their completed projects to see their workmanship and design..i have i contractor not bad, if you r interested, pm me..he has a designer who used to work in ID firm.. oso a direct carpenter himself
