Thanks for the advice!! I didnt know letterbox can change lock, will let my hubby know.. We can't rely on the agent because we are so called 'walk-in' customer. He is the seller's agent and we get to know this flat from newspaper advertisement. He is the only agent that service both the seller as well as us. Right after the actual handover, we noticed that the ex-owner actually took away one of the kitchen side cabinet that is fitted next to the stove. The traces of the silicone is still there!! We didnt realise soon cos the agent's contractor is still in there clearing up the ex-owner things and right after that the agent came and passed the keys to my hubby. When my hubby called him to tell him, he told my hubby to call the ex-owner ourselves. What kind of service is this!! Shouldn't the agent being paid to be the middleman?? The best part is the agent still got the cheek to invite us to his wedding!!

Would like to check if any of you guys have encounter buying a resale flat with ex-owner still holding to the letterbox key? About 2 weeks after actual handover, we were in the house with the shortlisted IDs and contractor to let them see the actual kitchen cabinet and wardrobes whether relaminated is workable. Out of a sudden, the ex-owner's wife came back with his son and was walking around with a videocam. My hubby and I was thinking "Huh, they just walk in like that". This trigger us to do an experiment. We saw a few letters for the ex-owner and we left it in the letterbox and will want to see if the letters will go 'missing'. We have been going over to the house almost everyday to check on the renovation progress and check on the letterbox. Today, we found out that all the letters for the ex-owner went missing!! So we are 100% sure that they still have the keys just that not sure if they have the house key too. Any advise on what can be done?

The previous owner is Indian Muslim and they used a lot of dark colours. Due to budget constraint, will be doing a minor reno like change of kitchen cabinets & wardrobe doors, painting etc and the major hacking will be the countertop at Master bathroom.
