i watched one of the Ch 8 household tips program and they mentioned that putting things like baby powder or washing powder along the ants track will make them go away by themselves. Reason: the ants cannot take the strong powder smell will avoid those areas. Not test yet thou, i've lots of single soldier running ard my house too.

they are fast!! How come ur kitchen wall so many holes? Doing plastering? I didnt get the blum thingy, mine was normal soft closing by another brand IREX which i'm perfectly fine and living happily with it! The drawers r a little tough to open but i'm ok with it. it helps when my hub's naughty nephews cannot open them, otherwise will end up like my fridge - 1 hr they open a few times. If uncle says urs is the expensive one, then it shd be BLUM!! The toilet seat thingy ah... i think in the long run will spoil the mechanism if we push it down while its trying to close softly. But i understand that it wears out eventually, esp if we lift it up n down very frequently.

xherion considering u have paid much more than us for u house, its gd that u no need to spend much more on reno! saves the hassle of buying all those fittings too! I think letting owners buy their own lights is quite practical. Cos lightings are such a personal choice and that it will bring out the whole setting/feel of the house! booy Its a cove area which effective is just dead space under the windows. ya, its sort of like what adrian mentioned. So there's this numbing sore feeling in the arm for a couple of days, apart from that both of us were fine, thou the doctor warned we may end up with slight fever. I got my flu jab in a clinic near gongkia's old place. Funny thing is, we were waiting for Ah soon for the quotation then, and he went MIA. So while waiting n nothing else to do, we just went into the clinic n both of us took the jab. Funny story... so gimme some face.. laugh a bit ok? Dun cry anymore liao...

Gd that ur concerns are addressed! I'm pretty satisfied with how the Ah neh managed to revive my yellowish tarnished window panes, and i'm sure those stains on ur flooring will be thoroughly removed. I was so concerned when they did plastering n it landed on my marble floor but in the end worries were uncalled for. Any cracked tile, unevenly cut tiles.. anything that u dun like can always ask them to chge one. They wouldnt take long to just chge the tiles. I made them chge a couple of wall tiles that has got cracked line becos of drilling holes for piping.

ur roofing makes it seem like condo penthouse wor! Ur reno's progressing well, so fast tiling liao! Hope HDB gives u an answer soon...

xherion show us ur design soon! Actually u r so fast! TOP in June now already confirm quotation. I dun think u'll require massive reno since its condo, the beauty of getting private property! Just a little painting and beautifying will do the job! Do they throw in lights as well? or u will be chging all the lights provided? apples thks apple! the gap between the blinds r quite ok, ard 1-2inches.. will still manage to peep in if slant the position of view. But usually the gap will be inline with the window frames, so if u look at the blinds 90degs, won't be able to see outside and vice verse.

I'm not too sure whether was it the window film removal that left the oil patches, but Jason says its the grills guy when they fixed up the new window grills. So seem like i blamed the wrong person The oily residue is very obvious, but just need to paint sealant over b4 the touch up paint and it will be fine. I dun really know how many rounds of painting they do. After the base issue (from which renotalker, i forgot..was it fondue?) i asked Jason abt it. He say the Jotun one is used as a base coat. Previously they use white as base, but realise it takes a lot of layers of paint to get to the true color, so now they use Jotun colored paint as base. Coats after that will all be ICI/Nippon. I think mine had 2 layers of ICI b4 carpentry and aircon trunking, another 1-2 layer after. Found areas that plastering not done properly, asked them to re-plaster, another few coats of paint. So i think my wall's like super 'thick skin' now. pinkpetter/apples if u guys thinking of doing window film, make sure u asked if its the Taiwan paper or US paper. i only knew abt tis from my curtains maker that US one doenst shrink, Taiwan does. As for mine, was too late to ask so i didn't bother.

the physics aside, wat i gather from the pple that's using storage tank in my office is telling me the same thing, that it is only efficient for the storage tank if most of the family members shower ard the same time. In that case will only turn on the heater once, heat up the whole tank, off it, n let it last for all the family member's shower. But if everyone showers at diff time of the day, instant heater will definitely be more efficient in terms of $. Anyway, 4 more days to ur 2nd appt!

yup yupz! can just do L-box to w/o lights if u wanna cover pipings. Else u can also do the L-box with single tube downlights and then controls on downlights via a few switches? Single downlights r much cheaper than double tube downlights. I'm also concern abt the electrical bills, so i have 4 switches controlling my 12 downlights in the living room. I'm not too sure how much the wallpaper cost thou. Was a bundle price for erecting the half height false wall. One of the pricer items in my reno-list But gd thing abt wallpaper is 1) can just wipe with damp cloth, 2) joint lines will not be as obvious as using laminates. Try asking uncle to quote 1st and see if its within ur budget?

haha! i understood wat u mean. I also had the same worries, but no choice budget constraint and lazy to shop ard anymore, so decided to buy cheap at S&C.. if really not nice few yrs later then chge again. But May at S&C did make some recommendations to us and told us if we want can go down to those bigger shops to try on b4 buying. We didnt (too lazy) and just went with her recommendations and i must say i'm really satisfied w my sofa! Not too soft, depth also just nice.

So the night curtains blocks out the sun during the day, at night just need to draw open the night curtains and the thinner day curtains will still allow some wind to pass thru. Was a suggestion from my curtains maker, but i like the contrast of the day curtains with my light purple wall too.

I understand from the doctor when i took mine, that it does not prevent u from catching the bug, but makes the effect milder.. even for common flu.
