i recognised the display shelf! Very nice stuff they have there. Glad that u didnt had much problems with them!
-
i bought the display set at $350 from their warehouse sales mths ago. i think ur price is pretty ok lah... Ikea's product used to be gd. My current dining table is still going strong after 20yrs! But now as the prices goes down, the quality follows suit too. My chest of drawers is warping internally like nobody's biz! I think hor, HDB walls are nvr perfectly flat. Preciousjam may be right, u may have to do plastering if u want it to be flat flat... My coll had problem with slanted walls in her new flat as well.

aubrey, ur place sure looks gd enough to shift in! What a great transformation!
-
congrats! Welcome to the Ah soon club! U were too excited to sleep last night and posting at 4am?!
-
eh, i dun think there is a straightforward way of finding out. I did the layman way, just turn on the tap at full blast to see if the pressure is gd enough.
-
i think it depends very much where the water is being drawn from. If the water is drawn from the bottom, lower levels will have better pressure as compared to higher levels? I also heard stories and even Citygas pple tells me that top floor water pressure is lower. But i guess that was based on the assumption that my water supply is from the bottom tank. My water pressure is surprisingly huge! Anyway u bought a heater tank, the pressure is dependent on ur tank's output ah. unless u referring to normal cold water.

My info also comes from the readings in this forum! I only do curtains for MBR, too lazy also. haha! The hot fav for curtains are MGL and Jimmy Textiles, but i didnt go to them for quotations. I did it with a fren's bro-in-law, i find him quite pro n he gives gd suggestions on color combi matching. If u wan i can pass u his contacts to get a quotation? Toilet roll will need to chge after a while, but was mentioned that the toilet roll can still be used for our big/small biz wor... i haven tried that thou... Happy reading! it took me 3 days to finish reading the whole t-blog!

i bought the lounge chair too! And all my guests commented that its super comfy!

Agree!! it will be so much nicer to do without the black lines! but when i ask Jason if i needed to top up, he dunno. And in the event if Uncle really absorbs the cost, i'll feel guilty. So i made do with the white marker. But hor, the white marker one is really way below the beauty achievable with the expensive laminates. And the white paint will drop off in the long run...

1 room flat? No wonder just that blk is demolished and rebuild. Looks weird in the midst of the older blks. but definitely a very gd location to stay in! the staircases there got blks meh? i only know the big carpark leh. I see that ur room's got some sunlight coming in. Depends on wat u want to do with that room, if it is a bedroom, i'll suggest block out curtains. Like my bedroom now is totally dark even when i sleep till noon! Curtains will have higher maintenance than roller blinds, roller blinds no need to wash, just wipe will do. but curtains are aesthetically nicer too! Put toilet roll inside! I read from Mace's blog that it helps to absorb the sweaty smell.

i think its not the problem with mixer leh. I dunno how to explain, but like there's this 'point' where the water will be too cold, then move a bit the water will be too hot. So the adjustment gotta be really really small. Instant heaters are definitely safer for young kids. U wun know when they like to play with the tap and accidentally burn themselves with the hot water! Is it becos the trapped air below the tiles will be more prone to popping when it contracts or expands too much from temp chges?

did u go n grab with Ivy? I was reading on someone's blog (cant rembr who liao) and the prices for cutleries were really cheap! So how? did u managed to go? Its gd to stock up 1st mah.. my coll haven even buy house already buy pots becos its on sale! Thks Ivy!! Unfortunately, i dropped my tabletop photo so the frame is a little chipped now *sad*
-
r u referring to those that doesnt have the black line at the joints? I wanted to choose that laminate too! but i think most prob gonna top up, or else i'll feel guilty towards uncle. So in the end drop the idea
-
i think it a gd move! I always see EM so big but looks very cramp and clustered. Walls here n there, urs is really big!
-
i'm impressed!!! really very nice job there!
-
the hall really looks bright and cheery! The problem u had w HDB was to hack the blocking wall in the hallway right? Gd that its gone.
-
Gdness!! Ur plastering n the missing cement cannot lah. We had some issues with the plastering too. like urs, ours was rockstone painted. But in the end the area at the skirting not plastered. so we complain to uncle and he got his workers to touch-up and repaint. The ceiling was not plastered, but uncle's reason was becos its gonna be covered with false ceiling, so ok.. we buy that. Was a give n take situation. After shifting in, we realised we had some issues with the painting as well - uneven paints jobs, jagged lines (esp at door frames). We managed to get him in to rectify some oily stains due to the windows frames installation. I think my door frame similar to urs, but becos my color was grey(frame) and light grey (wall) so the contrast isn't that bad. Agreed that J is very nice. but when it comes to work, he is really a little to slipshod comparing to uncle. This point uncle also agree, so i guess the best is go direct to uncle now? J no longer with uncle, then who am i supposed to bug now for my outstanding items?

Gas will be cheaper lah, but it depends on how long it takes for the ROI for all the mixers and hot water piping. Indeed, i think if all the members in the family can shower ard the same time, the storage tank may be a better option. Like u said, the gas heater no need to turn on switch, its auto. Once the heater detects the flow of water, the 'fire' will ignite by itself. My only complain is the hot water is too hot despite turning down to the lowest temp! Btw, I think u shd be quite relief now that Joseph seems to be a very gd project manager right? New flats mostly comes with the piping already, hence the red n blue stickers u see all ard the toilets n kitchen. Citygas heater is central, but recommendation is to connect to only the shower points, n not all the taps in the house. Ventilation fan u'll have to ask HDB already, i have a coll whose new flat not allowed to instal ventilation fan, but still went ahead with it hush-hush.

ya, i agreed that the walkway will be narrow. So i also strongly going for option c. I think its illegal to have electrical points in toilet leh. safety hazard.

Bingo DL838. I more or less guess was that blk!! haha! Like out of nowhere HDB just decides to rebuild a new blk in the midst of all the other old blks! Very busy location wor.. with the new expressway exit nearby. I used to stay at 132!
-
So gd!! i only had 1 book lor! And when i ask Jason for more, he say the books not with him n we have to decide the laminates already! Haiz....

A little OT.. really love this shot.
