ur gate is nice! I dun see this design when i was selecting my gate I would go for consistency in a bedroom. Makes the entire room looks neater. On the other hand, maybe can mix some some pattern laminates but diff tone/color for a contrast yet maintaining the same theme?

i think uneven/leg cutting tiles are pretty common. I had too and Jason explained was becos the tiles originally came as uneven. But in any case he grind the side of the tiles and dig up the entire kitchen's grouting to redo, that helped a bit. Was bathing last night and realised my shower area got leg cutting tile. After staying in sooo long.... i think i'm blind.

Bingo! Its not that we dun want or dunno how to do housework, but imagine working on wkdays n then spending wkends to clean house do marketing... a bit . I rather spend a little money to improve my quality of life on wkends. Then again, somehow i think my ILs may be thinking i'm such a lazy girl... 1-3pm? i shd be fine... how how? I wanna see her roof, the penthouse feeling rooftop!

rondy: I didnt ask her to wipe windows cos they are not of priority to me. i rarely open my windows since we both working in the day, so the bed/floor/toilet matters more to me. Quite standard price lah.. pinkpetter: I think she's quite ok, she did 3hrs+ and ask me to give her $30 instead. But we just gave her $40, since she's fast. U saw my photos liao mah! Today 1st time using the PT maid. After the housework drive me crazy and i drive gongkia crazy, he finally got down to finding a PT maid for me! hohoho! Gd or not ah.. ok for me lah. My only complain is she nvr wash my shower screen properly, i think she dunno what i was talking abt. But i was too happily eating my brkfast n watching HK drama to instruct her properly also. Apart from that she's quite fast, less than 4hrs chge my bedsheets, wipe table/cabinets, vacuum/mop/wash both toilets n still manage to iron 6 shirts for gongkia. Got initiative to help me clear ALL the dustbins in the house. Like tt considered gd or not? i think ok? $10/hr... she stays near ur house wor..

i think its better that u ask ur ID how will the end results be if u plaster. I'm sure if the whole wall is plastered properly, it shd be smooth smooth one. Any pics to show us? Then maybe we can see better to advise. Sealer is like a white base to 'hold' the top coats of paint together. Not really to patch up holes, unless the holes are very shallow kinda holes?

The wardrobe is very CD look-alike! Gd that ah wei can replicate similar one for u. I like ur rounded edge study table... like designer piece leh. Gongkia intending to do a bookshelve with uncle, i wonder how much will that cost. My aunt who used to stay in EM had her storerm under the stairs too! I think its better than having a big storerm n stacking things high above... i have to use a ladder to retrieve my things...

hmm... it is not by default that they will throw in plastering... the cost is quite high. So most pple will opt out of plastering if the walls are still in acceptable condition to them. I didn't even know wat was plastering when i bought my house, was only until i wanted to get rid of the then-existing rockstone paint that i was exposed to plastering. Its not cheap, it cost me $1.6k for entire house. Maybe ur ID didnt suggest to u beforehand, assuming u wouldn't mind the patchy parts? is he able to do partial plastering instead of full plastering? May be able to shave off some cost this way.

Yes yes! i was abt to post that i have the same silvery blinking mosaics too! I think pinkpetter also has them! With regards to top up and VOs, what happen to me was uncle will straightaway tell me if i need to top up. I was supposed to top up $100 for workmanship for my toilet, but in the end he couldnt be bothered to walk thru the house with me during HO and just rounded up the reno with the original amt on quotation. Hoho!! Mosaics in both toilets+kitchen also no need to top up. Don't worry too much peeps, i think the bill wun be too shocking if you didnt deviate too much from the original works.

aubrey, i guess we are all guilty of messing up our own houses b4 reno! But its gd to have a refreshing chge, i think u'll love ur 'new' place despite all the reno woes!
