thks! I've seen ur layout, similar to mine, but notice that our main door position are diff. I cant adopt the same as urs becos my sofa has to be at the position i've draw and that pretty much fixed the position of the TV console to be under the beam. I'm fine w the layout just that headache where to put the dinning table. Cannot swop dinning/living rm over also becos the dinning ard is much smaller.

my hubby wun spent tt kinda of money for a display... i rarely play the piano now! even ur WC for guest toilet also so nice!

hub also complaining its troublesome to walk ard 2 rooms to chge. But no space in MBR for a wardrobe to accommodate both our clothes, either one of us will have to walk across also. Thinking that i most prob wun chge clothes as often as i go toilet, so i still stick to sleeping in MBR. My MBR door faces the bedroom 2 doors, so its almost the same as having a hole in the wall. But then again, still have to put blinds/curtains to prevent the door face door situation.

So better than u check online at HDB website n preempt him earlier. Otherwise the seller may turn out to be like mine - say no time for his tenants to shift! Realised i did not post my intended layout. The sofa has to be at where it is. So we have to do a half wall for the TV cables under the beam. Now the problem is, where shd i place my dining table? It seems a bit troublesome to walk all the way across the living rm to the existing proposed dinning area, but i dun want it to be in the kitchen either. Any suggestions?

We want lotsa space in MBR so no choice have to use 1 room as wardrobe room. FH even thinking that we put bed in bedroom2 n use MBR entirely for clothes since it has the toilet. But i think i prefer sleeping in MBR so that the toilet is near me when i need to go in the middle of the night. My mum say cannot leh, 1stly its the 'room-in-room' concept is not gd in terms of FS. 2ndly is she say the opening in the wall it means wealth can flow from 1rm in n go out via another door. Means hard to save money. So listen to her lor... dun wanna go against mr fortune god too. btw, my pink room was only approved after begging real hard! I hinted that how nice would it be to have pink kitchen and was ignored straight away!

i tot my 10ft wardrobe is already a luxury. Urs is 14ft!! i also taking 1 room as wardrobe+accessories room. My pink room. But not hacking walls between mbr n wardrobe rm cos my mum says in fengshui terms not good to have 2 doors to a room.

same as u, i wanted to keep my kitchen flooring n just hack the bases. But one contractor pointed out that the water proofing is gone, and even if u were to waterproof the base, it doesnt form a complete seal with the original layer. Meaning to say, when u wash floor it will seep thru the join lines n possibility of leaking to ur downstrs neighbr is higher. Not an issue if u just do mopping. I'm not too sure how true it is but it sounds logical. So do take note when u feel like wet scrubbing ur kitchen floor!

agree w the rest that for overlaying, this quote is considered expensive. How abt ur WC and basins? I noticed its supply n install. They may buy cheaper WC n sinks to install n that wouldnt cost them much. I suggest u buy urself n get them to install, at least u get to choose wat u want. Take more quotes n compare... dun rush ba...

he seems ok for Pinkpetter leh. I went up to her house to view his works and he did go up to do rectifications after handover. The only question is i dunno how long does he 'warranty' his works, esp the wet works. so far IDs all quoting me ard $26k, 1 contractor quoting me $24k, all exclusive of electrical works! Frankly how much he quote per item doesnt matter already, i only look at the final amt. I compare items by items in so many quotations until i realise it will end up almost the same. So long as final bill is within my budget... i'll just let him do. Where's ur t-blog? Show pic leh!!

Ah Soon super busy lor! My hub wanna talk face to face leh, since he already say can do within 18k. u've got lots of patience! in the end did u get him? i rembr u mentioned ur budget also very tight right? Seems like he's one of the cheapest ard with reasonable QC. I heard from hub Ah Soon said he got 7 houses on hand now, and just handed over 10 during CNY. His biz is really gd! Probably becos he earns by doing more but charging cheap. But i'm in a rush, cos my wedding is less than 6mths away and i hope to settle the house reno b4 i get busy with wedding prep again.

my entire unit is in rockstone. Even store room. i didnt expect that plaster cost so much, otherwise i would have bargain with the seller on COV!! My grills r still fine, just that needs a lot of re-lubricating. Cannot move the grills/windows smoothly now. Its those double lock grills, so i tot its a bit wasted to chge it, thou aluminum makes it a bit risky for a common corridor window. y dun u do panels of red? like majority white, but a few drawers red? Hi all, just to share on my findings. Gaincity standard installation is only 1 trip, additional trip @ $80/trip, brackets (for older flats) will need to top up another $150. Base on my findings for my ME Sys3 Non-invertor, it is more expensive than as compared another vendor which one of the forummers recommended. Btw, i'm quoted $2161 for ME Sys3 (Total BTU 20k, 8k+6k+6k) for R410A, GST inclusive already. 2 installation trips, Grade 0 insulation, Copper 23 piping, 16mm drainage, s/s brackets. But only 1 yr warrantly on workmanship. How's the deal?
