Ya! i took the exact tiles as the mock up in sin lek. Urs too? I saw u stating the problems in ur t-blog, how issit now? They told me b4 abt the diff tones in the tiles, it is very obvious if we take tiles from 2 diff shipment, so they promise to give us tiles from same batch n not to mix. I also afraid if the MBR will be too dark, so we will be using 2 walls dark tiles, 2 walls light. How did u do urs? It's tough to look ard when u dun have the keys yet right? Buy things also dunno where to put, now my room is full of the reno stuff, one whole stack in the corner of the room! i also like to compare prices, but somehow halfway i'm really tired. So now i just compare a few shops, n if the cheapest shop fits my budget, just buy liao. Dun waste time, energy n petrol. Not a lot of mosaics, only a bit.. like 1 strip or 1 slab. Else burn hole in our pockets! This wkend was REALLY tiring. I'm aching all over now.. n finding it hard to keep my eyes open at work!

wah, like tt mine is considered fast liao. Hub 1st met up with him on 13th Feb and tmr we starting reno. Maybe becos i already have my keys and he can start anytime, so he proceed faster ba. When is ur reno completing? we picked some pale red pattern tiles in hafary, but one more outstanding when we look under normal lights, somemore the tiles got very pale straight lines across, i hope the outcome is nice. now i scare my MBR toilet too dark. Ur MBR toilet tiles also from Lek Sin? Will it be too dark? Cheap lights right?! since its only storerm n service balcony, i tot no need to spent so much on them lah. Energy saving somemore, 11W with output of 60W equivalent. Gd deal! Yes! thurs going for WC shopping b4 my gown fitting! When r u planning to start ur reno? I think its gd to shop ard 1st, at least i knew roughly where i need to grab my things when i'm so tight up for time now. Waste no time in slowly picking n shopping ard.

Spent a lot of $$ over these 2 days. Rushing to sales after sales, from tiles shops to toilet accessory shops. My back n legs are breaking. 1st.. to the Mayer sales. Apart from the Samsung fridge display set going at more than $200 off retail price in HN, we grabbed a few good buys too. Toilet accessories. 7-in-1 set only at $40. Includes toilet pp holder, soap/mug/towel holder, towel bar, glass tray. Wine glasses n cutlery set. Then off to ikea to get my cheapo storerm/service balcony lights. $3.90 ea. cheap! Next up.. Tiles n Taps. Today to the tile shops... We went to Sin Lek as recommended by Ah Soon and were not very convinced that the tiles were the best we can get. Typically KS, we went down to Hafary (thks to Pinkpetter for the add at the last min!!) and took look for a 2nd option. Took the tiles back n decided that our 1st choice at Sin Lek seems to win hands down under normal room lighting conditions. So the final choices... L to R: Kitchen Wall/Floor (mosaic for a mini border design), Common Toilet Wall (White w green+mosaic as border design), MBR Toilet (dark grey for wall n floor, off white for another 2 walls, mosaic for one mini slab of wall as design). MBR Toilet for a Resort feeling. Hub almost use the mosaic sample to hit me when i say i choose tis over Hafary tiles becos it can go along w my blink blink mosaic. Next, taps. Wanted to get my WC for common toilet and all the remaining sinks, but by the time we were at J.Besar all shops were closed. Thinking of going down to Geylang but running out of petrol n energy. So headed home instead. But still...... we managed to buy something from Bellari! I've nvr seen taps this nicely packed b4... L to R: WM tap, common toilet tap, kitchen sink tap. I think its super chio for that kinda price.

My current quote comes out to be ard $21-22k for toilets/kitchen overhaul, plastering (the ex one!!!), carpentry for 2 TV consoles/shoe cabinet.. wrought iron gate/grills (for living n 1 bedroom). Got got! Chiong sales, chiong tile shops, chiong toilet accessories. Gimme a min, i wished i had 4 legs n 8 hands now! I agree with pinkpetter after meeting ah soon, that he is trying to prioritize. He also has to fulfill current reno n meet their datelines so those that still waiting for keys he will do at a later stage. Rest assure once he get access to ur house, he knows exactly what he needs to do.. then he can give a quote very fast. Went up my house 1st time Fri night, sat aftn gave me revise quote, on the spot i add a lot of little things.. n he gave a final quote straight away. Even to our IC no. to apply for permit already, when we still waiting to sign the official contract tmr.

No wonder he was talking to the tiles guy Ah Di over the phone at my place n say "tmr u dun call me ah, dun call me ah!". We say give him 2 mths he say no.

We also have the same intention, to contain the oil n smoke within the kitchen so i dun have to mop my living room floor after hub cooks each time. Yes he finally met us last night!!!! i waited n waited at hub's place coffeeshop, no turn up. Wanted to go home liao, then thkfully he called! So we met up at my new place instead. Today also suppose to meet at my place at 2, but he no show, so we went to Mayers sale. He called the moment i reach the warehouse. Argh! But best news... my reno starting next Tues!! Hmm, looks gd. But i may have to hold back the dining table plan 1st until i finalise my sofa length. Now sofa gotta shift nearer to the kitchen becos the beam beside the window will need to do a box up to cover the super ugly gas/electrical pipes and to hide the new position of the DB box. U very onz leh.. still help me redraw my floorplan... Thks!! Its really a very big unit w big living room, but i realised the rooms are a little smaller than my current 104sqm 4A.

But me n hub like to nua on sofa leh, each person take 1 side of the L so it must be decently long also.

hi apple!! u mean shift the longer side of L to along the windows side? I doubt can pass thru my FS auditor (aka my mama ). Was thinking putting dinning table along the wall outside my MBR, but i scare not enough walking space.
