1st stop after morning inspection was the hardware shop recommended by Rondy. The basin n kitchen sink is cheap! Double bowl only $133, n its deep deep one. But i dun like the fact the uncle always quote price without GST, so end up i have recalculate again. Taps not nice enough, so we went back J.Besar to hunt again. To PJ first, couldnt find anything i like or within my budget. Except for the $120 WC. Sounds great for my common toilet. So next off to Bellari for the 3rd time and bought all my taps/mixers/shower heads!! Most expensive buy for the day. Its still $100+ cheaper than what PJ offered. And its nicer! This is for the rainshower set. Bought something similar for common toilet as well. The lady even tested the water pressure for us in her toilet! MBR toilet tap which is above my budget, but nice.. so give in to hub's request. Handspray x 2, complete with the square valve. $28/set... more ex than PJ but i'm sold becos of the valve. .. in the carpark, we were questioning ourselves "wat would both our parents think when they realised we spent a few hundreds on taps n shower sets?" MADE OF GOLD AH??

Reno Day 1 It's a long n tiring day.... But fruitful! Went up to the house early morning to confirm electrical points w contractor... n i just caught the "1st drill" of my house! Like ground breaking ceremony.... but my heart was aching, n feeling so guilty. All the wall n floor tiles in kitchen were actually very gd n could have been kept. It was like hearing my mum's nagging voice in the backgrd..."u all youngster ah... dunno how to appreciate gd things. only know how to spend money n drill things in gd condition away..." So.. i was in mixed feeling all the way till now. And still feeling guilty. Ground breaking ceremony... Plastering. The stacks of plastering powder mixture for the whole house. Plastering is another one that makes me guilty. But i'm feeling a little better now after seeing the after-plastering results.. Cornies down!! This one i'm not guilty, its a definite thing to get rid of! Went back again to inspect. The workers nvr close my windows, nv off my rm lights. We dunno if it was meant to be or wat, cos i even see a pair of pants hanging on my door knob. Call the contractor, he apologise n say he's gonna scold the last person who leave the house. My lights are still on now!! My electrical bill ah.... End result of today's drilling. The door was the original toilet entrance sealed up by the 1st owner. Smooth walls!! Like hub said.. so pretty!

Angel, u may wanna check out Geylang's light shops as well since u r gonna buy for whole house? I think Geylang's shops r generally cheaper than balestier. The one i short listed is quoting me $25/sq downlight, 2x13W or 2x18W up to us. With 5% discount if u buy more, n no GST somemore. U want i can PM u the shop name. I think pinkpetter also went to some Geylang shops to buy.

Do u have any pics of the valve or its like the one attached to the handspray in ur pic? Cos i saw a handspray set at bellari @ $28, comes in a few colors, silver/blue/black/red and the valve is a square type, very chic looking. Wondering if i shd spend the extra few dollars on a nice valve just for washing toilet.

so my bathroom cannot have big tiles liao. How abt kitchen? Hafary lady told us cannot have 2ftx2ft tiles, but Sin Lek say can if Ah Soon's ok with it. Btw, who won in the end? the 2 light 2 dark or 1 dark 3 light? Today cannot hack, the permit only starts on Thurs. So its plastering! Yesh!! no more rockstones! Angel, how much did u pay for the handspray? Does it come w a valve or gonna ur the plumber's standard valve (like those attached for WC).

I was aiming at the exact bedframe and sofa! The sofa really nice right? That time they had some promo, sofa/bedframe/console for $2k or so.. but i cant find any tv console i like so gave up this offer in the end. But still drooling over the sofa!

I'm trying to keep my leaves for wedding prep and a short break after everything, so i must be stingy w my leaves now n try to squeeze everything in 1 day. Very tiring thou... Did u get the same tiles as the mock up in Sin Lek? Becos i took the exact tiles there, 30x60cm ones. Flooring i forgot to ask ah soon if can use 30x60 or need to use 30x30 ones. Still cannot decide whether i wanna do 2light +2 dark, or 1 dark wall + 3 light walls... so hard to visualise! My WC+Sink is the same shop as Pinkpetter. Went there specifically for this promo! None i saw at Poh Joo can match this price. Lightings actually more or less confirm liao. So no dinning lights cos i cannot decide where to place the dinning table or how big will i get, so will do all downlights 1st then buy standing overhead lamp for dinning after knowing exactly how much space i have. Geylang lights so far i think its the cheapest liao... I just signed the quotation just now. Must inform neighbours one ah? I dun think he's even free to go my house in day time leh. Anyway he say my official permit starts on Thurs, so no hacking or drilling until thurs, just plastering n electrical works. Gd thing, i no need to rewire! Got the solid surface book for Bellus. i dunno if the sample tiles has the code on them, will go home n take a look later. Sin Lek guy only warn us there will be tone diff cos its meant to be like tt.
