My whole house finish plastering! But i still do not have the size of WC, n i've arrange for delivery tmr! all the room lights are $80. Chop chop finish then i can have more time to rest. haven been resting for weeks liao! I have no idea leh, but we are not in a rush to move in cos of Qing Ming, so can afford to take the time to find curtains lobang. Who is Cindy? Cheap n gd?

OMG! then the workers must be cursing when the waste comes gushing down! Does that mean it will be easier for me to chge my pipings since i'm on the highest level? The prev owner spray rockstone paint over WHOLE house including the pipes. Really Ah?? But that only applies to kitchen wall if we arent gonna lay tiles rite? My house in the midst of plastering away the rockstones, i suppose the 'holes' form by the stones shd hold the plaster together?

I also went Eestilo after Pinkpetter recommended, served by Sunny too. Super chatty n friendly, goes on n on... until i tummyache i really had to go. Eestilo's stuff r not cheap if u buy them individually. But the 1pc WC is really a steal. So far i haven seen any 1pc WC cheaper than $230, so with $299 package (WC+sink) is really a gd buy. My common toilet WC is $120 (2pc WC) + sink = $205 from Poh Joo @ J.Besar. Can go there see see if u have no specific requirements for WC.

ya, my bed is 14yrs old liao, still going strong! That's y i'm keeping it and asking my mum to keep my room for me to stay over when my hub decides to have MJ sessions. I just came back from seahorse, they really ah . now we thinking if we shd just buy a single mattress to enjoy the offer. Overall still cheaper leh.. Can try open all windows big big and put in some fans to blow the smelly air out?

ya, i was thanking my lucky stars for finding identical kitchen sink at PJ cheaper than his! PJ 1-pc WC more ex leh. If wanna buy 1-pc WC the Eestilo promo is much better than PJ. Even the boss at PJ also say its worth the buy when i mentioned to him the Eestilo deal. But 2pc WC i think PJ cheaper. Other than my $120 WC, there are a few others at $100+ too. Plus the square basin only $205.

I think that Uncle has the same attitude as ur Jojo lor. He reminds me so much of ur saga! Wanted to go back to buy the kitchen sink from him, but HENG AH!!! found identical one at PJ and cheaper by $20+ somemore. My downlights were $23 each. Overall still got discount again. The uncle say he use msia ballast, selling so many yrs no customer complain to him tt ballast spoil or wat. Can last at least 5-8 yrs, he say that explains y he no biz for ballast liao. I went to other light shops in Geylang, mostly using Thailand ballast leh. Mostly imptly he gives me Philips PLL and Osram PLC, some other shops give weird weird brand leh. Ur ballast leh? U bought at Extreme? I wanted to go too but really too sick of hunting ard to save the few dollars. Not enough to cover my petrol! Ah Soon not fast leh, i still waiting for him to give me WC size. I arranging all the vendors to deliver on Wed morning, one shot finish everything so i dun have to take leave again. YA! i need curtains too!! Where u going to get ah? ur seahorse bedframe is the storage bed rite? i was also aiming for their storage bed, but bought a suede skin bedframe in the end. The sofa is a steal leh! i must go down tmr n see. Hub was so sore when they refused to take our order last dec (becos can only hold stock for 2mths) and in the end the price sore from $600+ to $1k+ even after 50% discount! He's still jumping mad abt it now.. Electrical i only left w TV and WM. Already found the cheapest deal for my washer, now waiting when to place order only. Lights Shopping! We realised we were asked by Ah Soon to get ready lights by next Thurs, so gotta abort all plans n chiong to the lights shop 1st. No extra energy to go diff places to compare prices already. So just fixed on Geylang and asked a few more shops for quotation before going back to the uncle at No.1 Lightings for the 3rd time. His prices are not the cheapest ard, but we are most comfortable dealing w him. Sincere n honest, without hardselling wins our deal. So bought the all the lights from him n got a discount after discount. Top: For my wardrobe/lollipop room. Bottom: MBR Top: Guest Rm. Bottom: Futuristic looking light for Kitchen (so i no need to clean the cover that's filled w insects!) Simple n cheap but BRIGHT light (silver holder) for both toilets. 10 Square DL for living room. Still feeling a lil' upset for not having a dining light, but i've yet to fix my dining ard n the fact i light to move my things ard... so no dining lights for the moment. All in all, my whole house lightings (plus a wireless doorbell) = <$600. Best deal of today: a towel rack (those like hotel style) at $15. He's no longer selling and left w last 2 to clear stock, so its a super steal! We were quoted like $30-$40 for a piece at other shops lor! More toilet fittings! After surveying for so long, we finally decided to go back PJ to get the rest of the toilet fittings. Their listed prices are misleading, so much diff from what we are actually being quoted. The uncle at the Bkt Merah shop was so cocky n irritating, refused to do delivery despite ordering 2 sinks+other misc stuff from him n insisted that we either pay for delivery or self collect. The mini conversation (in mandarin) goes.. Me: Sorry ah uncle, WC n chrome piping i dun want already. The rest remain lor. So can u confirm delivery on wed? Uncle: Huh? Don't want ah? So u still want wat? Me:.... *continues going thru the list patiently w him* Uncle: Ok lor, if 顺路i deliver. Me: Huh? Wat u mean? Uncle: If my delivery happen to passby i ask them deliver lor. Me: HUH?! then how i know if ur guys 顺路 or not on wed? Uncle: ur order very little. U can collect urself wat. If not i have to charge delivery. I know my deal is not a mega deal, if wanna ask me to self collect can put it across nicer. Dun give me the crap of 顺路 or not! With that, i've decided NOT to let him earn a single cent from me. Another long day...! Reno Day 2 Went up quite late cos we had to settle the wardrobe design w ClosetDesign. Concrete sink support gone. Common toilet half done. MBR toilet also half done. The glass thingy in my half height kitchen wall removed! They cracked the wall thou, but i'm gonna seal up that wall anyway. Plastering also done in 2 bedrooms... super sharp corners n smooth walls! At the end of the inspection.... i found my tiles sitting alone at my void deck. Confirm its my tiles cos my full address was written on it! Why no one shifted the tiles back to the unit 1st? Later i tio complain ah.... Reno Day 3 Sat, no hacking allowed. But they have shut off my electrical mains cos i was navigating in the house in darkness. Only armed w my camera flash. Hub still scare me say i shdn't take pic in the dark... wat if i see sthg i shdnt in the pics.. Tiles shifted up. Living rm plastering started. i think my whole house plastering is enough to keep them busy for daysss.

ur hacking/demolition/haulage is on the high side leh. Anyway ur living room tiles seem to be in quite gd condition, maybe can consider not to overlay?

The kitchen cabinet really looks too gd to be hacked leh.. I've learnt thru my own ID/contractor search that those who appeared in Home Fair tends to be on the higher range.. probably to cover their advertising or publicity cost for going to such fairs also. Suggest that if those who come back to u this round w a quotation that is too high, u can go look for other recommended IDs in this forum. I went to A&D and Ideal House before, their quote is pretty reasonable for ID range... But me too budget, so in the end settled for contractor.

The wooden tile is a very nice refreshing chge! How come i nvr see those ah? i was there last sun leh... I would have chosen ur green+white tiles for my common toilet if the uncle didnt reminded us that our kitchen white tiles already 'wavy' type. So in the end went for the other green one with very fine lines across the tiles. MBR same as the mock up! I think Ah Soon will be sick of seeing the same MBR toilets! I didnt realised ur MBR mosaic is the silvery blinks! In the end... we chosen the 3light 1 dark combi..

Some worker actually did a very messy super big biz in my MBR toilet on 1st day w.o realising the WC flush is spoilt. Which explains what i saw! I went up to a sample house one of my shortlisted contractor was showing me, and i saw the owner actually wrote "MBR toilet, pls do not use. Thk u" and taped the WC cover to the bowl. Clever move, i shall do that too!

u talking abt my unit? Nice windows (ok lah, not too bad), nice floors (yes, broken marble floor), west facing unit (east n west in fact, MBR facing west! but hub like leh, he say like tt i wun keep sleeping). I tot i could save a bit w the marble floor. End up $10k COV + $21k reno. Back to square one if i were to choose all over again, i oso wan $0 COV n do everything from scratch. But i dun think i can afford another reno in the next 5yrs....Pockets drained! huh? Jialat. I just buy leh, w/o knowing wat is P or S. I tot WC is just the inches offset from the wall to the sewage hole? I just called n chge my handspray to matt liao! i'm actually quite concern y they use plastic, but their reason also valid lah. Cos customer feedback say they drop their handspray n crack the floor tiles. Rather chge handspray then repair floor. Hmm.. sounds logical.

rondy: ya i went. The kitchen sink is really much cheaper than elsewhere, but the taps are really too normal looking. I dun really like their service, the uncle who served us (Ah kiat) is super hard selling. keep pushing us to buy the taps despite i already say i dun like the outlook, he still criticize me saying gd looking no use, must be gd. I know lah, but his tap is not really super cheap in the 1st place also, with that price i can always buy something more chio mah... i more superficial cannot meh.
