I cant rembr if they say they were coming down tmr lunch time to check the scratch or to chge the table totally. But May told me "if u really insist to chge i must order leh. mid may then will come in".. not sure whether issit to put me off or wat. But no way, i told her even if i have to wait, i'll still insist on chging. I also wished we had deal with Melvin back then, gongkia said he went down b4 himself and spoken to Melvin, more room for negotiation and friendlier. Yes!! Jason flew my aeroplane on Fri (that made my day even sadder) and was 1hr late yday when i told him specifically he cannot be late cos i have to go for my CATS musical. But see him limping again, ok lah.. forgiven. Gave me a bottle of 3M s/s cleaner somemore.. We are quite happy with the sofa n coffee table selection if not for the scratch line too. But ok, since they are doing something abt it, i'll withhold any bad comments for the moment. Hahah! Now still pending a carpet for the coffee table, cos its too heavy to carry n i scare it'll scratch my floor. Fridge delivery man happily push the blame to the company. Cos the handles are placed inside the fridge n only fixed up upon delivery, so he grumbling "these pple pack things nvr check properly one!!" I was too tired to entertain him anymore. Very very hot right?? i cannot do anything except to just nua in bed. No matter what i do, i just get very frustrated with the heat... so best thing is just to relax n watch tv. Aircon ur room!! Hahahhahahahah!!! I'm not falling for that. I'm upgrading from a 14" CRT in my room now to a 40" LCD, of cos i'll feel the diff.

Finalised on my curtains on Fri too. Full length day and night curtains for MBR Blackout roller blinds for wardrobe room. Silvery blinks.. Roller blinds for study room too.. No curtains for living room since its quite dark by noon and already had the privacy film on windows. Saw my neighbour had curtains but everyday drawn open, so we reckon it wasnt necessary.. less cleaning and save money too. Made some blunder in my design of wardrobe room n it affected my blinds track drilling. Didnt leave enough allowance between window and false wall for wardrobe so they will have to drill hole in the middle of the track instead. Same sad case as lawry, but our friend's bro-in-law (doing our curtains) assure me that it will not look ugly or weird. All in all was $800 for the curtains + double sided string curtains to partition our rooms from living room n guest room. I think was becos the material we choose were all designer material... hence the price.

Today's weather is soooooo hot! No energy to pack my stuff for shifting next wkend, jialat. Just managed to gather my strength to upload the photos taken on Fri. House's a little messy.. pardon me for that. The 2-door fridge that came with only 1 door handle. Notice missing handle on top door? The lounge chair from Barang Barang. Samsung TV... I was quite shocked by the size n wondering if we have bought a TV that's too big. It didnt look that huge at showrooms. Scratched coffee table with sofa. Suede bedframe with the FOC pillows n mattress protector.

Mine too! The hacking damaged some of the pipes n it drips the whole day. Some workers will be clever enough to turn of the mains, some just let it drip thru'out the night. I dun even wanna think abt the flushing part.. sigh. Thkfully i dun have to see them anymore. *fingers crossed* yday jason came up n finish off the remaining rectifications. Hope ur woes will be over soon too! isn't it just frustrating? I dun see why some companies can stick by their delivery time frame but some just simply dun care. Argh. Ya, the coffee table i'll demand for an exchge.. by hook or crook!

Ya, that's the reason why our switches were diff and u had much more electrical VO than us. Another thing i wanna ask, will they leave spare tiles for us? I dun have a single piece of tiles leh.. What if next time tiles accidentally cracked, how ah?

The long winded story goes... that the painter who painted my house was 1 thin thin hunchback uncle, 1 short short a bit fair looking but plump uncle, plus dunno who lah. The one with a tattoo on his hand is Uncle's 表姐's son, who's so garang to go challenge uncle n quit. But in the end i think he went back to say he needs the job, Uncle also kind enough say go n tok to Jason cos he cannot be bothered with him. I think it will be easier for u since u staying there and u can monitor everyday? I saw another painter who came to my house just to meet Jason, he seems more pro leh... i believe they have a few grps of painters... so hint to uncle u want the best!

hop u shd be able to rush all the rectifications by wed! I understand the agony, on one hand u wish u had the luxury to let them to the rectifications swee swee b4 furnitures coming in, on the other all the schedules are fixed and we would wanna shift in ASAP so that dun have to everyday go back n check the reno! Did uncle say when he can finish everything?

But apparently i think 2 wks back Ah soon fired his cousin too. Or shd i say the cousin fired Ah soon becos Ah soon wanna fire his buddies.. so he say must 讲义气. Ashes, i think u just pick up the phone right in front of the painter and call ah soon to tell him wat the painter told u. Most of the time i'm not happy with anything, i call Ah soon and Ah soon will tell his workers to take instructions from me and do exactly what i asked of them to.

same here! i prefer TV area to have more privacy too. My initial intention was also to build a small partition facing the main door so to have some privacy for dining area as well, but in the end dropped the idea cos we scare the walking space becomes too narrow. I've seen my neighbour's house doing that, but was a 90deg partition (partition and main gate forms a L-shape) but that means dining space very cramp also. Gd that u have 2 wardrobe area in this case! my hub is competing with me to see who got more clothes!

i think u feedback to him u heard a lot of pple commenting on his electrician's work, even the "Jason's god-bro" also like not very pro. That probably will stress him to put a little more effort on monitoring his electrician? Last time electrician was outsourced, tts y pinkpetter had to pay quite a bit for electrical works on the VO. For mine, uncle didnt add a single cent to my additional points. So gd n bad lor.... I told him b4 i heard some of his clients got tile problem so he say that one is becos tiler not skilled, will allocate a gd tiler to me and i got it! Anyway, get ur 水平尺soon hor, u'll find it handy when ur reno starts! esp on the electrical portion!

only 24 units in SG? That's really a very rare sight! Agree that it would have been additional cost to build the walls, but would be nice for those who wanna chge their layout without having to worry abt approval of walls hacking! I think u've really got a 1 in million rare deal for urself!

aubrey: better not to use the 707 instant heater for rainshower, there were a couple of feedbacks in RT that the rain becos like drizzle, becos the pressure is not strong enough. I've heard from one of the shops that those instant heater cannot support hot/cold water mixer becos they dun not have a storage within the unit, n the pressure that builds up within the heater can increase the chances of the heater exploding. Not sure how true thou... just to play safe.

wah... so many feedback on his workers. Let me do my personal ranking of his workers, 1st: plumbers(10/10), windows/grills(10/10) 2nd: tilers(8/10), false ceiling/false wall (8/10) 3rd: carpenters (8/10) -> given them a higher score after their countless times coming up to rectify some work that i've deem acceptable. (of cos, after being scolded by Ah soon) 4th: painters (6.5/10), plastering (7/10) 5th: electrician -> worse of lot, slanted sockets, slanted cable tray. (6/10) I agreed with u all that its both a waste of money n time to keep going thru the rectifications. My new pad is only 15mins walk ago from my current place and i'm already so drained going up everyday back then. Pity ah soon that he has to bear the responsibility of his workers. Its hard, i heard Jason saying they have 80+ workers, so the QC may all be only relying on Ah soon. I would prefer speaking to Ah soon directly most of the time, rather than Jason. I think Jason is more lenient to the workers n end up doing the sh*t job of all the rectifications himself, while Ah soon will just pick up the phone n demand the workers to do it immediately with NO room for delay. So they r both gd in their ways.. but sadly.. they also have to depend a lot on their workers.

I was also contemplating with Roman blinds for MBR, but read somewhere the maintenance is a pain. Going ahead with day+night curtains instead. Roman blinds the mechanism spoils easily too? Wah, turn on aircon?? They really know how to enjoy life. I dun even wanna turn on my aircon unless super necessary, i'm more concern abt my electricity bills! I told my aircon vendor to wrap back the fancoil so no one can use it without pulling the wrapper down. Kept all my controllers at my current house too. Come to think of it, my last mth's utility bill was $60+! Dunno how they use the water one... *faint*

If not for gongkia ard during the delivery (which the initial plan wasn't to be), i would have screamed my head off the delivery guys. All my appted timings were supposed to fall within 2-6pm. Ban Kim Chuan: Appted time was 4-6pm, delivery guy kept calling my hp (which was left at home) and in the end called hub, say he will be arriving at 1130am. 1130am!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! for god's sake i was only on PM leave. Nvm, came with the TV and washer, then no brackets. Brackets is delivered by Samsung guys instead at 3+. When i bought, they say HDMI cable inclusive. Now tell me dun have. If not for the cheap price, i would have banished them to my blacklist long ago. Barang barang: Came at 11+ too. Again, was settled becos hub was already rushing down to our house. S&C: Appted time was again 4-6pm. Sofa came at 11+. Just becos their delivery guys dun wanna carry the sofa 9 storeys up so got the sofa guys to deliver straight from factory. Then coffee table came at 4ish, but with a long scratch on my clear glass that's abt a palm length. Called up straight to reject, n say if scratched is common, only cracked line they will exchge. Hairline scratch i understand, but this is such a long scratch line! Maximum credit: bought my fridge from mayer sales from them and delivery time was again 4-6pm. Called up at 5.30 to confirm if they r coming, the lady say yes.. "not 6pm yet wat". Ok fine, so i asked if after 6pm not here yet i'll call again n she say yes. Of cos "yes", cos after 6pm, their headoffice (which the lady i spoken to is) is CLOSED! End up, my fridge came only at 7.30, 2 doors but only 1 handle appeared. FISH!!!! Aero Furnishing, only prompt and on time vendor. With no problems on delivered goods (thus far, *fingers crossed*). Seriously, what's an appointed time for when they dun stick to it and mess it all up? They expect me to be there on the appted time, n i'm there likewise to expect that these deliveries come ON TIME and not like 4hrs earlier! I dun have the whole day to wait for them. The only consolation was Wii-ing in my new house, lazing on the sofa till 10+ watching TV before going home. And the CATS play today! :sport-smiley-004:

fannie, pinkpetter: got got! got pics.. i went home to get BOTH my hp and camera. Found tons of missed calls and smses, mostly from the deliveries... sad case sia. More details later. Then again, no pics for the moment. Becos i left my camera in gongkia's bag! Eh, u might be surprise! Double, triple tape ur WC if possible. Cos i know they just DO IT anyway, irregardless got door no door, got seat no seat. I once went back and painter was bathing in my common toilet w/o doors! End up i was locked out becos the other painter was 'watching' the door for him, n told me "eh.. wait ah, he bathing". I'm going with rod+track for my day+night curtains for MBR!

Ya, esp when the MBR is kinda small right? Its a headache in planning yet having to accommodate the ease of usage n personal preference! I prefer the area in front of kitchen to be TV area, more privacy, but which means my dining area will be exposed... Having clothes in 2 rooms, wun that be very 'luan' where the clothes are?

am a bit suaku, but 1st time i see a white house. Very gd idea!! they shd build more of these flats to save pple from the cost and effort of hacking walls!

fannie, saw in Rune's blog u mentioned abt chging the electrician. Seems hard leh, they just fired 1, engage another 2, plus the original uncle (jason's god-bro, but equally bad IMO). Seems like they having a bad time with all the electrician.

rune, saw that ur lights were damaged by the workers too! I had a small piece of glass broken by dunno-which group of workers too, end up the replacement was much more than urs, $38 for a small piece of glass which the whole light is only $80! Downlight tubes also damaged by electrician. But in the end, all rectified swee swee and ah soon is willing to bear the replacement cost. Ur house seems to be completing soon! Any handover date?

haha! seems like it's inevitable that every of ah soon's customer will have some displeasure with the electrician. U r not alone! ur aircon trunking cannot move, so how's the alternative going on?

i think i can imagine how ur sister would be playing the boxing game. Its super tiring!! Side note, i fixed up my Wii at my new place liao!!
