Cos that area near 85 market not very accessible mah, only those who stay there before or like the facilities there will choose this area. But i'm still not very sure exactly where's ur place. hahaha! i also like the areas along the bus 17 stretch tts behind the market, but a bit too ulu liao. I rembr the scary mornings that i used to have walking up to sch, the huge heavy vehicle carpark and the long long flight of stairs i have to take!

Checked my SP bill for last mth liao. shifted in on 27th Apr and reading was taken on 9th May (2 full wks) and we cooked twice during this period, bill was $1.06. Considering that i stay over only on wkends, so only hubby showering once or twice a day. So i think for full mth w occassional cooking and showering (for 2 person) shd be <$10?

I have his num lah, my hubby calls him to tell him liao. Since its not like affecting our stay in the new house, we tot we just give them some breathing space and do it when they are free. But he doesnt seem to be rembring it. Hubby abit give up, tell me to call.. When is ur expected handover? Staying in hotel can burn hole in pocket leh! We have lotsa time back then so gave them the freedom of planning their own work schedule. But in the end we wait until fedup also, cos house almost complete just pending minor rectifications, so we gave an ultimatum for HO. U can seriously considering calling uncle, cos he told me b4 "u wanna delay i dun wan also, else i lost face. Later pple think y simple reno take me so long to HO, i very throw face one leh!"

But the gal who entertained me wasnt really very friendly so in the end i went with another aircon vendor who sounded more professional. Gave valuable advise for aircon position and running of trunking. U need the num for Hong Tar?

*envy* i like the food in 85market. One of our fav place to get reasonably cheap and gd food!

I'm not contributing as much $ as hubby, so must play my part to control the budget! Don't really have much advise for u as to shops to avoid, but lights wise better to get Osram or Philips bulbs. They r generally the more trusted brands. Some shops that i've been to offer cheaper price but not giving these bulbs. I wouldnt be wanting to chge bulbs every now n then. Hong Tar seems to be very popular in RT. Gd comments abt their workmanship too. :good: Then wait no more! Buy!

Not uncle clearing the VO with u meh? When i did mine, Jason also not sure of everything. When i asked if need to top up, he say dunno.. ask me to ask uncle. In the end uncle didnt charge me anything extra. I added a lot of little things here n there along the reno... n i got away with it! Try to go to uncle for VO, i think he may be too forgetful abt the little items to charge u! Ya, pls dun. Let me live in denial that i got the best deal in town.

My agent is Bobby too! Agree that he's really gd, n entertaining thou a bit ah beng pattern. haha! I also had another agent that kept pestering me on units that totally failed my requirements, insisting me to take a look just becos (in his words) "ur budget very hard to find a suitable unit like this". Was in total disbelief when i told him another agent (Bobby) managed to find me a suitable unit. Stu*pid agent. Is Ray still learning under Bobby? Bobby brought along a newbie when he meets us. I just realised u came up to my house b4! Ur unit given to Jason or elder goh? Sigh, hope things can speed up for u.

I also agree it cost more to use gas heater/storage tank. Mine was $439 (MBR rainshower set)+$111 (Common toilet shower mixer set), gas heater $190+$60.. adds up already $800. But no choice cos i tempted my hubby with the rainshower so decided to go w it in the end. I only did toilets+kitchen reno, so must do something nice to let us enjoy a gd shower after a long day at work. However, i realised one point after we completed reno. If the gas heater spoil, no hot water at both toilets. Whereas 2 instant heater means there's still a spare one to fall back shd one goes down. Then again, i'm not sure abt the recurring bills, since Citygas claims that gas is much cheaper than instant heater electrical bills.
