  1. hi searchingandlooking, sorry to ride on your thread, i have a question for mr chong too. mr chong, there is a gap between the wall and my bed, does it affect anything? heard some people said that the bed has to be flushed against the wall completely. here is how it looks: appreciate your advice.
  2. me too! i have tried the charcoal method but still thinking of the fan leh! but think its not worth to pay $350 for that stupid installation and fan. the workmanship itself is so much more than the fan. hi light, can you pm me the contractor who did the window and fan for you? i can check the price with him directly. thanks
  3. i see. thanks! in fact i have changed to energy saving bulbs but they really dont look very nice with chandelier coz the bulbs are not clear. do you know if there is any energy saving bulbs that have the clear look or bulbs that are smaller than 25w? currently the smallest watts that i can find is 25w.
  4. hi, i have a chandelier light which has 8 bulbs. i find it too hot when the light is switched on. is it ok to fix only 4 bulbs and leave the other 4 light holders without bulbs? appreciate your advice on this. cheers
  5. hi lovenest, i can fully understand your anxiety over your kid's condition. do not worry so much, both my kids were diagnosed with asthma before they were 1 year old. though there is no cure for asthma, but if you manage their condition well, they are just like any other normal kids without asthma. my older girl who is almost 10 years old now has not has any serious asthma attack since 5 years old and my younger girl who is now 7 years old is controlling her asthma well. so far only the 7 year old girl has been admitted to hospital once for viral fever that led to serious asthma attack that caused her to have breathing difficulty. do follow the prescription from the doc and give your child his daily preventor till the doc says he is well enough to be taken off it. i was like you, afraid of the side effects the inhaler has on my kids if they use too much. but accordingly to the doc, the dosage is not high enough to cause bad side effect and the benefits outweighs the side effects. my younger girl has been on daily puff of the preventor (orange decanter) since 3 or 4 years ago with 3 monthly's review with the doc in KK. she is still growing normally, doing all activities normally (she swims, jumps, skips and runs like nobody business). i only stop these activities the moment i spot that she has light coughs and runny nose. try not to let your child do vigorous exercise or run in an airconditioned room as cold air tends to tighten their airways and vigorous exercise will trigger asthma. my child is attended by a senior consultation in kk and i think she really gave me the assurance that asthma is a manageable condition. cheer up! do pm me if you need more information or my personal experience on handling asthma or any support. i am more than happy to share. good luck
  6. what brand of detergent are you using? is half cup enough?
  7. thanks! yes i even bought the clay burner specially for burning KBY for only $1.20. normal metal ashtray can be quite hot cos it doesnt have a handle like this. may i know what is the sandal wood powder for? is is necessary to fill up the empty space on the KBY?
  8. hi, just want to check with all who are using front load washers, do you find your clothings still feeling soaping after washing? is this normal? how much detergent do you use? i usually put about 2/3 cup (cup is provided by persil) but after washing i can still feel like the clothes are slimy. did i put too much detergent? by the way, i am using a whirlpool washer. thanks
  9. ya lor. the KBY was placed in the box with the smaller top facing up wa, so i naturally thought it was meant to be lighted up this way ma .
  10. hah! so this is the way to burn KBY! i burn it the other way round, no wonder i had problem lighting up.

    Curtains

hi mousehunt, sorry for the late posting cos i didnt check on this thread as i was busying moving house at that time. well, my curtain is up though not trouble free. workmanship is acceptable. but i must say that they are really professional in getting the problem fixed for me without any signs of impatience even full payment was made. all in all, they came to my house to fix the curtain not less than 8 times! first, the panel curtain was short, after altering, it was too long, and i also complained on the stitching, blah blah blah. overall, workmanship i will give them 8/10 but professionalism and reliability, 10/10.
  12. i bought one of those $800 hot steam clean by osim some years back and didnt find it works on the groutings. i wonder how come when the salesman can do that during demo but i cant its either a sales gimmick or my skills no good lor.
  13. ya man! this KBY really power man. that day i was smoking my room and there was spider outside my window and the smoke was blowing outwards it. i just turn around for a few mins and when i look out again, the spider was gone. do you use KBY everyday to keep out the insects? any tips on how to light up KBY? i find it so hard to lite it up.

  17. hi mace i have 2 questions for you. 1) where to buy "kam boon yan" and how to use it? i am terrified of lizards and hope this can help chase them away. 2) can you give me the contact who fixed up the ventilation fan for you? how much did you pay for just the installation? appreciate your information. thanks
  18. applefreak, this one very suitable for you leh. saw this in a online store in USA. if you are keen to order, we can share the shipping cost. that is if they do ship to singapore. the bell only cost US$9.99. its the shipping cost that kills.

  20. sorry sorry! "tum bang" on your thread as well. anyone knows where i can find those door chimes? like olden days where they fix it on their door, just 2 pieces of metal and you can use it to tap on it to announce your guests' arrival? or just a bell that you ring manually without any wiring or battries. thanks
