well the air-con cost ard $1980 for systemx3. but we have not confirm with him cos we wanna check out if its the lowest compare to outside selling. we are looking at non-inverters type. actually its my wife to be who is very aggressive on all these items...i jus add in a few sentences like telling them if they reduce the price a bit..u get the deal. if not no deal at all...that would be $0..which is better? i ask them i know they wanna earn profits (afterall it jus another business deal), but how much do we want them to earn?..we also cannot overdo it hehehehe. one advice...if ya ID is a guy...then get the wife to be the aggresive party then the husband be the mr nice guy....it alwys work hahaha but if the Id is a lady...apply the same method...unless the husband looks better then brad pit hahahaha

HI st002, is ya flat a 5rm? cos if it is so then ard 30k is more or less there ler. but if u r a 4rm type, think its best to set it at 20k...tell all the ID firm tat u r looking at tat ya budget is 18k so when they send u the quotes then it will be ard 22k to 27k (IDs always go beyond ya budget wan!!!) by doing tat when comes to bargaining..more or less u can bring it down to near 21k to 24k. more or less within ya budget. what u think? As for the laminates, see what mention jus yesterday on the previous post...if they dun state the price range or material from where....they anyhow chop u like nobody business wan...the only diff between the IDs N contractors IDs is that contractors Ids reno ya unit wif no design theme. from the way i look...this ID is limiting u from choosing the materials from tons of brands to only 1 type...erm i think its not fair lor...U are the one thats going to stay in the unit for the next 5 or 10 yrs leh...wanna regret for that long? better go scout for other ID firm bah...dun bother abt the number of times u have went to search for Ids, most impt is find the one u feel comfortable..for me i search for like 7 to 8 mths b4 i settle for this current ID firm.

wow your qoutation abit the general leh...any idea whats is the cost range for your laminate that your can choose up to? all the materials like the tiles, laminates, solid top surface, where are they from? china, india, europe brands? cos different country different prices, if not state in the quote then when u sign the contract, they can anyhow let u choose the materials, either way they can chop u like a carrot leh. haulage & removal of Debris total is $1260 to me i think is abit exp. for me i got bargain it to 1K. your masonary work...u got to look at the pricing carefully..kitchen is bigger then total of 2 xtoilet but why the cost is so close to each other? i mean to redo 2x toilet cost over 3K? unless u request diamonds to encrust onto it hahaha.. but buddy u got to really scrutinze the quote thoroughly...btw 4room flat reno. budget should be ard 20k to 25k excluding furnitures, household appliances & lightings. but of cos if u can squeeze all within the 25k range...U r the winner liao. do remember current economic is still heading down south man...got to watch what u spend now. hope my advice helps.

Hi aubrey, finally can log into the forum ler. yup u r rite, i was trying to get him to throw the cooker n hod for FOC (aggresive rite) hahaha. in the end it didnt work..so no choice got to buy the cooker n hod on our own lor. for the air-con we managed to get him to throw in at a very low price for systemx3. the renovation work just stated last week...hopfully the reno workd can go smoothly hee

hiya aubrey, pinkpetter & FLY, Thanks for the advices, i had immediately dumped the current ID n went on to approach another ID ler. this time we settle on Baroque D.zign....we feel alot comfortable with this new ID. no rush, very paitent, no hard selling, its great. though din manage to squeeze in cooker n hod n air-con hahaha.

well this current ID not only try to rush thru all the quotation, all the while is we who is trying to contact him instead the other way. one time we told him to arrange one of the weekends to view his current project..there is no respond from him till saturday evening & its when my fiancee initiate to call him then onli he told us to meet up the next day morning ... we were so pissed..as we also have plans on weekends too. & becos of him we cancelled our activitives.

whew!! thanks a lot aubrey...u r right...looks like i got to start scouting for a new ID...as this current one is wasting my time by dragging for 3weeks!!!

guys/ gals, 1 curious question to ask...when do u all sign the contract usually? is it after viewing the quotation & 3D drawings or b4 showing the 3Ddrawings? reason in asking this is becos how do we get assurance that the IDs we approach can deliver what we want if without showing any 3D drawings? & if we sign n pay the 1st deposit but unable to get what we want...how do we get back our deposit?

hihi....I recommend that once in a while mix a bowl of warm/hot water wif detergent, it will help to get rid of those sludge at the choked area. In this way you wont need to open up to clean or drill a hole to change. better still if u get the chrome metal or stainless steel type then you dun even need to change it...its all about daily/ monthly maintainence to prevent any chokage. hee hope my suggestion can be of useful to you.
