  1. Hi Havencaveman, Congrats on your newborn. Your place look wonderful too. Do share pictures of your completed house with us. And please also pm me your contractor's contracts. Thanks!
  2. Hi Lucky Guy, Have you laying tiles for the base instead of pebble wash? Most pebble wash owners told me that they regreted laying pebblewash as its quite difficult to clean and dirt tends to trap inside. Ants etc like to go inbetween the pebbles and its tough to get them. And some of the pebbles will drop out after sometime and they cant replace them, resulting in a hole there. Don't know if this info come too late as RT was down last week. Just thought of sharing it with you as I just noticed that the pebblewash was for the base.
  3. Hi Roamca, Congrats on your starting your new blog. Btw, its that thing on top of the kitchen your rubbish chute? How come so high? I wonder how the previous owner throw their stuff.. I thought AMK flat, the rubbish is usually below the kitchen sink. Its my first time seeing it 'on top' of the sink.
  4. Hi Saeran, Your place looked very condo. Loved your lights also. If you don't mind, please share your contractor's contacts with us. Thanks!!
  5. I also think its a good deal. May I know which furniture shop did you go in JB? By the way, how much is that sofa that you bought. It look good and comfy.
  6. Frankly, I also think his previous pebblewash not really up to standard. Its like too little 'pebble' inside compared to those that I seen before. You can refer to this thread about pebblewash, think someone posted their pebblewash pic there. Can see that its really full of those small stones, like very packed kind. http://www.renotalk.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=2253 Edited: I found this site which shows pebblewash. You may want to take a look also. http://www.auraenterprise.com.sg/pebblewas...lewash.html#tpy
  7. Hi DKNY, Your drawing from Weiken look great. My kitchen pipes are also at the same position as yours. My rubbish chute is next to the pipes near the window corner. Is yours there as well? If you don't mind, may I know the length and width of your kitchen? Or share your floorplan with us. We are also thinking of doing up a L-shape cabinet with the sink at the extended side. But we are wondering if its going to be to cramp at the sides.
  8. Hi Pinkpetter, We tried to buy the recess area outside our place around 1.5yrs ago. The whole procedures is really draggy. My hubby went to the branch office like 3times or so and none of the staff there are able to give proper advice and unfamiliar with the procedures themselves. We submitted our application for months and got no reply. After don't know how many months, we got so tired and cant be bother with it anymore. And this is when they sent us a letter asking us to confirm and shift all the water and electricity stuff of the govt. outside within 2-3weeks. End up, we cancelled the application as we cant shift the stuff out intime due to our busy schedule in their stated period. Now my flat is undergoing upgrading, I guess we will only 'reapply' it after the upgrading is completed. Good luck to you and do share the procedure with us. I think you probably can advise better than those sitting there.
  9. Hi Ponytail, Sorry, i don't mean to be a sport spoiler but i really feel that those black design look like hundreds of lizards sticking on the top cabinet. Like the picture that rondy posted, if you were to colour those lizard in black, it feels like the same effect as your top cabinet laminate to me. Just to share, I bought a resale and they have some wall tiles which resemble a stick of 'mei hua' (like pink flower) near to the sink area. From afar, I also think they seems like lizard sticking there. Luckily, there is only like 3-4 of such tiles. So I was pretty shocked to see that top cabinet laminate on your drawing.
  10. Hi, I also think that the prints look abit too loud and I kept feeling like that top cabinet is full of lizards on it.
  11. Hi, Just to share, we bought a resale and after staying for around 1yr, we found that the mbr toilet ceiling seems to be 'leaking'. How did we realise it? There are water marks on those big pipes and very obviously 'water tracks' on the pipes. We called up HDB and their investigations found that its not because of the pipes having leakages, its because of the water proofing on the unit upside that had wore and tear over the years. Hence, the unit upside need to redo their water proofing. Cost to be shared by both owners but can apply for a grant or something where we only need to pay like 25% of it. Not very expensive. So for those considering concealing their pipes, you might want to reconsider as if not for the pipes, we would not have find about about the water 'seepage' that soon and the ceiling might come tumbling down. Just to share.
  12. Hi simlim, We are also thinking of not concealing out electrical trunking or casing. Because the resale that we bought came with pretty cornices and the wire casing are hiding inside. Electricians that came over, told us that we cant do re-wiring of the flat, unless we break and take down everything. Same thing for my parents' place, they previously also conceal their wires casing inside the cornices and recently there is some problem with the singtel telephone line where they are unable to check the line condition due to it being conceal inside the cornices. So i guess there is more pros than cons to not conceal the casing. Anyway, I thought the casing look ok if they are properly planned. However, I am not sure if doing up a false ceiling will also post a such problem anot.
  13. Hi Yvonne, Was it from gaincity? We were there yesterday and the sale person also told us of that promotion.
  14. Hi Cybnox, We are at near serangoon side. Guess our flats are build around the same period.. so those HDB staff just replicate afew blocks to save their time designing. hee.. I wanted to send u a copy of my floorplan. But I don't know how to. Is the pm via email or something? Hee.. yah, the space is pretty big if just for 2 pax. Are you staying with your wifey only? How much are you quoted for the glass door? Hee.. just thinking of making a note somewhere so that I can roughly estimate my cost. By the way, is your washing machine behind your sink ?
  15. Hi Pinkpetter, Thanks for the pm. I'll check with him once we decide on how we want to do the place up. Think we most likely going for contractor instead of ID. So now trying to pick up the renovation stuff bits by bits. Your blog is really helpful. Thanks again. By the way, how's his workmanship ? Ok ma?
