Hi, I can only recommand my contractor who did false ceiling and partition walls. Price quoted was low than my ID by 30%. If you are doing parquet flooring, I can recommand where to get the materials and a contractor to lay them as overall managed to pay a lot lower than what my ID quoted. Others like hacking, tiling, kitchen design, etc cannot recommand as I got carrot chop by my ID. Wish you a smooth Reno journey.

I think it is a corridor unit since there is a window next to the main door. My guesstimate if it is a major overhaul with ID will cost $100k...

Ya lor in balcony in my new EM and luckily this EM got roof liao. I house them in the utility room and laundry area in my previous condo as I don't have a balcony.

Hi CJREDDEVI, You did all parquet flooring for your EA from living room to all the bedrooms? I like the cosy feeling of having wooden floor or wooden laminated flooring for the whole house. As I have 3 dogs, I can only do parqueting flooring for the bedrooms.

Wow... the condition of your place is good... no reno is needed leh... probably only need to do some painting, change of toilet bowls and good cleaning up of the place

I'm having white theme for my EM with a bit of black as I like my place to be as bright as possible since it is north south facing (no morning or afternoon sun shining in).

Thanks Angel. I took half day leave from work in the morning and went down to my house to meet the aircon + false ceiling contractors to solve my air con trunking re-location. Luckily the re-location is not a major work.

Sliding window is cheaper than casement. My Id told me that casement windows need maintainance every 6 months to ensure safety as per HDB requirement. There might be some cost for it, I'm not sure what kind of cost he meant.

Was very busy at work by the time came home only want to be potato couch and watch TV Here is the update of my reno: My new window and grill installed liao and my house look a lot brighter as the previous own did translucent film in every window except living room and balcony window. We did not like it so we changed to white coated aluminium with green tented glass window. The grill installed by the previous owner was changed as well in order to match the white coated aluminium. Picture of one of the bedrooms before previous owner moved out, see the window. My parquet flooring for the 3 bedrooms & recess area on level 2 and timber board for my stairs were installed 1 week ago, the contractor will do the 1st layer polishing tomorrow and follow by another time 1 week later. My house wiring points, false ceiling and painting done, only left with kitchen lights, living room spot lights and 2 hanging lights (1 dining & 1 staircase) haven't installed. Then follow by paint touch up and acid wash of the place. My ID is going to measure the kitchen cabinets space tomorrow. I have another headache as the installation of my utility room air con piping went through the wall where my cooker hood and kitchen top cabinets area. My ID said it has to be re-located somehow and should not cross where my cooker hood area. Tomorrow my hubby is going to meet him and hopefully the air con contractor is able to make it there too to solve this.

I got all my windows and grills replaced through direct window and grill supplier last week. I was quoted $13psf for white coated aluminium with green tinted glass and $7psf for white coated aluminium grill. It includes installation and removing my existing window and grill. Hope that help you with the cost estimation.

Hi blues_bleu Welcome. I got the same EM layout as yours. My EM also needed a major over haul and most IDs quoted $70k but we sort of got trick into engaging this current ID that overall quotation came out to be $40k but many hidden cost started to show up after we signed on the dotted line and paid the deposit. Have a smooth reno journey. P/S: If you need contractor to do false ceiling, partion wall and electrical work, I'm happy to recommend my contractor to you. The price quoted are 30% below ID quotation.

Hi, I'm doing parquet over lay the ceramic tiles. The cost depends on the size and type of wood.

If tiles crack due to air con installation, my ID definitely won't want to repair for me unless I pay him to do the job... Then he will carrot chop me again... my guess only la... I probably need to source for contractor who is willing to do minor tiling repair work. I'll see how it goes next week.

Your place look so cosy and relax. How I wish I have gotten an EM that need minimal reno work and I won't have so much headache + pocket hole will not be burnt so badly. My ID refused to coordinate with my other contractor/ allow other contractor to access the house thus after he had completed his part (tiling), he handed back the house to me. Bcos of that, my air con piping installation got to go through some nicely tiled up section of the house eg. air con piping install in the utility room got to go through kitchen wall to my common toilet wall in order to connect to the compressor in balcony. I have yet to check whether those tile crack/ damage or not, if yes need to get it repair.
