no prob, when the workers are in, it's open house cos unit is not lock. just drop by anytime before 3pm. I heard uncle tell me the workers usually knock off at 3pm on saturday cos they need to go back to JB. If u can only come after 3pm maybe u can pm to let me know then I'll give u my contact and we can arrange ehhh by the way or I dun think everything will be swee swee by saturday.. cos I just went up and saw that the way city gas people rerun my gas pipe was really ugly.. nearly fainted on the spot.... I ask the carpenter to hold my shoe cabinet for uncle to go up and see the ugly pipes.. i want an alternative solution for that....

forget to add that when i painted myself, my bil sponsored my paint cos he works in a paint shop. So I saved on the cost of the paint I think u can definitely negotiate with them.

when is reno starting?

i didn't tell uncle that i have shifted my move in date. To him, I need to shift in by month end. He actually told me I can shift in my boxes this sat but ah wei advise me better not.. so I postpone. The need to remove the cabinets is bcos Ah Wei thought of a better and nicer way to relocate the gas pipe, which was not in our initial discussion. I don't mind them delaying a bit if it can make things nicer. Kudos to carpenter team for willingly volunteering to remove the cabinets if the need arise.

apparently uncle forget that there is a GPS network that we use to track his whereabouts. ha!
-
that will be a long wait loh.. probably a few weeks time.. uncle forget to shift my gas meter, gas man coming today only and ah wei says to run the pipe nicely, he may have to dismantle some part of the kitchen cabinets that are already up. I worry uncle cannot HO in time so I shifted my move in date to 10th july. So that we will have enough time to do rectification works if any.

my 1st flat we also painted ourselves. Save $1K+ got friends in to help too. my father in law chip in by painting the ceiling for us cos he says painting the ceiling is the most tedious part. Actually painting the place ourselves is quite siong leh but once it's done hor, even got some crooked lines u will also think it's a job well done cos it's ur own effort haha

I thought so too, but a some forummers thought high is good, cos then will have rain effect. My hubby tried adjusting it but cannot. Maybe i will ask the plumber about it the next time he comes. I will leave it first, try to take a first shower, if I dun like the feel of it then will adjust. If bathe liao shiok shiok then I will leave it.

hahaha no wonder he hasn't been appearing at my place for the past 2 days. it's ok it's ok. I am not in a super rush. Just wanted to tell ah tan he installed my boys' light a bit crooked. will tell him when he comes over.
-
is ur electrician ah tan?
-
poor aubrey.. hope your agony will end soon..
-
i think it is not a big problem. The can probably patch the grout lines for you.

yeah. I think the most exciting part of reno is the carpentry works. wahhh so many ahhh?? no wonder there isn't even a kitten at my place lah hahahahha y'day there were 4. today whole morning kosong. Lunch time came one, but not sure whether that 1 got "back up" after I left the place. I think he did cos within that short few hours the TV and MBR wardrobe is up.

A preview of my carpentry work TV feature Wall and Console Alter Boys' Wardrobe Boys' wardobe door Left side is how the front looks like and right side is how the back looks like. I actually wanted a full white glass. As white as the one on the right side, without the greenish tinge. But Ah wei says to achieve that it will cost me 3 times more....So I gave up the idea.. and chose this 3D looking laminate from Jennings. A close up of the laminate Looks like little pillow popping out but when u feel it, the laminate is actually flat and smooth.

i not worried abt the water splashing out, i more worried about the force of the water coming down from so high plus the water pressure, my head will be painful hahahhaha i'm starting to sounds like a bimbo... :x ohh really ahh. is it blk 34x? if it is then i guess it should be mine what time u all meeting?
-
ohh that one is handed over liao ahhh no wonder you don't feel good. Heng I not in a hurry cos I am bunking in with mother in law but I am getting a little restless cos my poor boys are sleeping on the living room floor... with mattress of course. I am cluttering up my in law's place as well. Not very nice lor. I don't think they can finish the electrical works in 1 day unless they pump in more workers. try to call uncle and tell him u will be booted from your friend's place by sunday, see whether he can prioritise ur works.
-
yah man. i understand your stress. When i did my first flat also no budget.. take reno loan. I guess if u ever need to prioritize the most important part will be the flooring
-
of course can. the carpenters are still putting up my carpentry works. When u wanna come?
-
I agree with Rondy leh... if I can be given a chance again hor i will go hunt for lok lok unit and do overhaul... sigh... while hunting for current flat the moment we step into a lok lok one we immediately write it off... then we come across this current unit, like it a lot and it was pretty well maintain... ended up also strip everything off after we pay the COV.... chey... money down the drain...

somehow i find fabrating a shoe cabinet is more economical than buying. Those ready made ones, very difficult to find a nice design and if u ever find a nice one it will not be cheap. good decision! Don't be too hard on yourself. The reno process will be long and tiring, so the break is a well deserve one before u embark on ur reno. Probably need to ring them up to chase them a bit.
