anyone knows where I can find lockset for such glass panels.. no frame just one big piece of glass..

my ID is suggesting Matt painting (not laminate) for our carpentry. My thought is that it gives a very raw and industrial feel to the furnishing. Surface will feel abit rough. Gloss to me gives a more refine and finished elegant look. Having this crash of idea w my ID.. !!!

What does people think? Is it better to have Matt or Glossy finish for your carpentry work? Advantages and Disadvanges of both?

Does anyone know why a mirror rust at the inside and the side? Does it only happen to very old mirror or is it because of quality? -

IKEA toilet accessories will rust after 3months... My mum house toilets is now rusting and is very ugly.. not to dampened any mood here but should have gone for more durable brand, especially fixtures... your house so nice.... dont waste the effort.. -
that's not a bad deal. Does it comes with warranty?

if you intend it for short term use..

I think you will need to upload to a public image site and then link it back to the forum.

outside cannot look in are usually coated with some metallic material, so it become reflective at certain lightings or angles. there are such film, if thermal rejection is not a major requirement. 3M has nickel coated film which they recommended me but I dont like reflective film. In that case, you do not need films from 3M, llumnar or v-kool. You should be able to find such film in DIY shop if your area is not big, they will be much cheaper. The technology that I am paying is for the solar heat rejection.. so if thermal is not big thing.. then go other films, no need to waste money..The price difference is very big.

have given the job to Llumbar.. using a 60% total solar rejection film and look almost clear but read 50% light transmission. Cant go any higher because of thermal stress issue. Wifey and me is still thinking of whether we are going to filmed up our tonnes of windows.. that will cost a bomb.. but i guess we will decide after we move in.. thanks for the recommendation..!

It will definitely be more expensive to try to get renovation quote during this period before CNY. rule of simple economic, demand and supply. All resources are now tied up to projects rushing to complete before the festive period. 1) Usually cabinet is charge by dimension, material costs. Cost of tiling is also dependent on the type of tiles you pick. If you are free, you can go to the recommended tiles company the forumers here use and have a look to get a sense. Of cos, dont trust those displayed prices, those are prices for the IDs. You should be able to bargain off those prices if you want to buy yourself. Although i hardly know anyone who DIY tiling. 2)IMHO, Bathtub is a waste of water and money. But its a personal choice. Me and my wife didn't bother as we know it will just become a useless ornament in the toilet after the novelty wears off. Storage tank is recommended, I think most people here use Jovan. I use something else. 3) same as above 4) never heard of it 5) yeah.. DIY painting is possible. It's of cos cheaper. Bottom line is this. If you are not satisfied with the contractor, move on to the next. If 5 of them is not giving you good quote, then go to 15 of them.. there are so many. If you are not in a rush, try to get quote after CNY too. However, price should not be your only consideration. Workmanship, reliability and credibility are also very important consideration factors. Read through the resources on this forum, you will learn quite alot just by reading.. and you will enjoy reading them. Visit your friends house, see their contractor's workmanship, ask around.. maybe visit some forumer's parties here and you will see for yourself.... it's better.. and trust me, a good contractor is money well spent in the end.... save you the heartache

The guy from Llumar is knowledgeable and can give pretty good advice as compared to 3M and my blinds maker who is just an agent so i dont blame her for not knowing much anyway. The first question he asked was the type and how is my canopy glass constructed. Quite impress for a start. At least they didn't send small kid to me.. like 3M did with 2 inexperience young SE whom doesn't even read my email properly, so much to be desired for their eyes to detail and experience. As my canopies are constructed using 2 pieces of tempered glass laminated together. His advice was to use a film that will not trap heat so as to prevent thermal stress on the laminated glass. This does not generally affect window but it will be stressful on a canopy/skylight. make sense to me. Will check his sample and make a decision soon as my skylight need to be done before i put up other stuff.. time is of the essence for me..

is that.. U xxxx ? thanks for the advice hihihi.. ..

Thanks. I basically shortlist to 3 brands now.. Ilumnar as recommended by Donut88, 3M as rec by my ID and V-Kool, rec by my window blinds maker.. All 3 are not cheap but provide 15years warranty. Has anyone use Perfect Window Film?
