My reno with * is nearing the end, probably getting keys next week. Overall, am lucky cos quite a good experience thus far. Sure, there are minor hiccups here and there but all able to rectify. Feel rather sad to see chocolatechipmuffin having to suffer through a bad reno experience. Guess ID or main contractor is really important... Also, maybe because my reno is comparatively minor - mainly redoing kitchen. And so far, the ID kept promises and things to look out for us. It was a nail-biting time though cos afraid * will turn out to be a bad choice with all the forum comments going on... but looks like we are lucky. Workmanship was quite good. -

Hi chocolatechipmuffin, Sorry to hear that things aren't going well. Kind of sad actually - just when I thought it's quite safe to choose * since there's not been much comments (no comments better than plenty of negative comments). Still, I will hope for the best. Hope that your ID will help resolve all your issues faced satisfactorily. And hope that my reno works will go smoothly. For what it's worth, your blog pix are quite nice :-) Best of luck to you ok? -

Hi GC, Sent u a PM on ID. :-) It's nice to see some online forumers who are using the same firm as I do. I just started on choice of tiles. So far so good too. But honestly, mine is a simple reno with main emphasis on kitchen :-) Plus, hubby and I both are not the knowledgable on interior deco type and thus, quite 'chin-chai'. Really can only hope for the best. :-) -
Hi Atlantis, It really depends on whether you can live with the current floor and wall tiles, intend to stay in there long, etc. I kinda agree with what hihihi says on the rest. If you intend to renovate anyway, and just wish to wait for six months before u do so, you would be rather inconvenienced if you had already moved in. Unless you don't intend to move in any time soon and can afford to wait. Guess no harm waiting a bit then but must be careful on the contractor you choose eventually. Sometimes can be hard to know who is a trustworthy one who does not compromise on materials in down times. I had a similar headache to yours except maybe I was luckier as my walls don't need plastering and I don't intend to re-wire the whole house (just partial). Mine is an even older flat (32-years) but am lucky the house owner takes care quite well and I still like the living room flooring :-) So intend to save money and just polish the floor plus renovate the whole kitchen. So it's really the type of works u intend to do. No harm checking around to see whether a contractor suits you though now isn't a great time as the good contractors will likely be rushing works on projects which need to be completed before CNY. Good luck and hope you find an ideal contractor eventually :-)

It's always been rather quiet when comments are asked for on * Interior. Gives me the impression somehow few chose to sign up with them - at least not the online forumers :-) But I've decided to go ahead with them and hope to be among the lucky few who eventually sing praises to their ID firms. Good luck to us all indeed :-) -
