What is an IR extender?
-
How to claim from seller? Send back to china? Who bears he shipping cost?
-
Servo drive is totally out of budget. Just the basic blum soft closing. My carpenter say a cabinet w 3 drawers maybe cost a thousand? I've yet to verify that. I've been teasing by my carpenter bcos of installing the Blum. He say why not just install the normal excel dtc system... Hdb 没有人 install blum only condo bla bla bla. Jialat 我们不是人! The corner I'll install the swivel basket. My opinion the Blum corner system true look impressive but it'll also waste the space so not worth the $ to install that. If u draw out the top view u'll know...

Nice door. Do u still remember what color code is that?
-
By the way what is "flat package" in Chinese? Shall I ask the seller - 可以包装扁扁吗? I learned Chinese but its hard for me too. Maybe someone can start a page on all the common glossary like 物流运费=postage?etc

Did an estimation I think mine by volume is about 0.3m3 only, ship by 65daigou shld be more than $150 which is more than May's $100+ for a cubic meter.
-
Does May allow the goods to be stored at her warehouse first until my order reach 1m3?
-
Most probably beverages, heavy things like packet of rice. Think shld be fine I search the whole kitchen have not found a thing heigher than the bottle yet.
-
The bottom most pull out of the larder unit I requested to be 38cm, but carpenter made 33cm. It is just nice to put in a beverage bottle like this. So far in my house I couldn't find anything taller than this yet. Do you think there's anything taller than this?

Today when I go & see it, it's like this: I expect the 3 drawers (s1, s4, s4) are equally divided but in actual case it's not... it become 1 small 2 big & the small one will not align with the first drawer at the other side...
-
After a few days, ID called & say carpenter say cannot put 3 S4 together in the same cabinet, too high. So swap the S4 to the oven there and replace with S1.

It has been a while since my last post. Reno already started, to date is the 5th week. Few hiccups, currently doing carpentry. Just want to share some learning about the Blum System. For start I know nothing about Blum. I started with reading their catalogue, went to their showrooms etc. to understand what are my options. I went there without my ID, I asked the staff there how should I plan my kitchen layout? The staff ask me to engage one of their certified carpenter to do the planning... I went to my ID, my ID ask me to plan myself. To cut the story short, I started to plan the zoning (e.g. cleaning zone, cooking zone, preparation zone etc.) & decide what are the width of drawer to use. There’s some box up in my current kitchen so I’m not able to take the actual dimension before hacking. So I just take the dimension from the floor plan & happily went shopping with my ID & bought nearly half of the system. After the tiling is done, to my surprise the actual dimension available for my cabinet is 30-40cm lesser than the floor plan. I guess these 30-40cm is the cement, tiling, walls etc. Need to re-locate some of the purchased Blum system… So lesson No.1: take the actual measurement on site AFTER tiling completed. So the final draft looks like this: The lines are the kitchen doors, the S1, S4 etc are the Blum system item code.

Thanks eekenji, I can show this to the carpenter I just wanted to buy some fake flowers & some deco items. Must be very careful if the flower cost $10 but shipping cost $100 then I better buy it locally. haha...
-
Ya I saw that. Just wondering is it cheaper to buy from taobao... Qoo10 ship from Korea while taobao ship from china.
-
If possible can also share your international shipping cost from Taobao? I'm very confused of the cost and afraid it'll cost a bomb. I just want to buy some deco items...
-
just wondering did anyone buy the combi blind from Taobao? I'm confused about shipping cost. Some seller estimate 1m2= 2kg. Is it safe if I estimate the volumetric weight to be 100cm x 10cm x 10cm /5000 = 2kg? Buy from Taobao cheaper or Q0010 cheaper?

Hi eekenji, nice house... envy envy. Do you mind to post a larger picture of the bay window cabinet internal? I saw you have a picture showing the cabinet frame in week 4 reno progress. Is it a cabinet with carcass or just the doors to cover up the recess area? I wanted to do something similar - but my carpenter say only can build up to the hole/recess area. Cannot build higher upto just below the window frame...

The Transformation
bb_1314 replied to jumbopanther's topic in Reno t-Blog Chat - Condo Interior Design and Landed Renovation
Useful info, can understand more on the sequence of installing the door frame? My tiler say the door frame must be installed first during cement screeding so it can be 'rooted' in the cement. After that then do the tiling. I'm a bit confused... -

Ikea Kitchen
bb_1314 replied to snoopy2006's topic in RENOVATION IDEAS: Interior Design Themes, Space Planning
I was a big fan of Ikea kitchen drawers etc. too... Until recently I visited Blum and I was speechless... -
I'm currently using city gas heater but normal shower head, staying at 17/20 floor. Water pressure is fantastic so was thinking to use back city gas couple with rain shower after revamp my house. Engaged a citygas technician for house visit & visited their showroom too. They say the newer model which give max 10L/min hot water is good for rainshower. Let see how is it... But 1 thing not so fantastic is need to waste the water ~1min before the hot water comes in (depend on how long is the piping from ur service yard/kitchen to the bathroom) cos need to 'clear' the cold water in the pipes first.

Nice drawing. Mind to share what software you used to do that?
