Yes you are right. After this experience. I would highly recommend anyone who are going to install Blum system, eventhough very simple system, to engage their certified carpenter. Actually not only that, also base on experience... The carpenter I talked to, the boss attended Blum's course to get certified, but his worker might not have enough hands-on experience... This morning I saw the larder unit door is installed, I tried open the door and drawer, CAN'T pull out the drawer cos the door is blocking! Unless I use my left hand to force the door open till 180deg & use my right hand to pull out the drawer... Think they use the wrong hinges... wordless... I still got to read the 800++ pages to identify which should be the right hinges. Now my husband is liasing with the carpenter boss and see how he's going to rectify this. Hopefully won't need us to go Blum showroom personally to see how it shld be, & buy the hinges for him... Now I'm so worried that the carpenter miss out a few bolts or nuts here and there. Sometime if we are not expert we won't know if it is installed wrong... like for example for this larder unit, the worker say it's like that! How can it be like that??? Couldn't believe...

wow... jaykr u must have black belt in karate lol. (just joking). For me cos i don't usually do heavy duty chopping so wooden frame/base is fine with me. Although I don't know what is the max weight load it can hold but for daily chores should be fine.

I didn't find out the difference between iquartz & caeserstone, caeserstone is out of my budget so didn't look much into it. For Iquartz my ID gave me a sample piece, I put dark soya sauce onto it & leave it for 4-5 hours before wiping it off. No trace at all so I'm happy to go with Iquartz. hmm phone camera can't capture much. I'll take some close up with dslr after I move in this Friday. 2 more days to go... yeah!

Shoe cabinet cum storage cabinet, and bomb shelter feature wall. Frankly speaking not in my favorite list...

Left with the black back splash haven't install yet...

TV console, quite stiff to open/close the door. Kitchen dish drainer hydraulic system: when lifting up is ok, closing it is quite horrible it'll slam. Regretted not getting the Blum aventos. At least closing the door won't slam. Any idea if can add anything to make it soft closing?

Wardrobe door installed. One of my favorite so far...

Hmm this one can see?

This is the concrete base you are referring to? The kitchen is sitting on top of the wood, then overlay with the quartz to make the sink under mount. Most of the top mount sink can be done under mount. Mine is combination of Blum & ikea bottom drawers. Ikea was dismantled from our house b4 reno. Can reuse. Ikea kitchen soft closing is actually from blum & they rebrand & sell it under ikea. Top cabinet are all casement doors with Blum hinges & soft closing. The soft closing device is a snap on seperate piece. In fact my whole house hinges door are blum soft closing cos I hate ppl slamming doors lol. I saw from somewhere you can actually call to make appointment & go through the design you have in mind & get a quotation with the Blum staff. I didn't call but head down to their showroom directly. When I enquire with the staff there they just tell me to engage their certified carpenter to go through the designing & quotation phase. So I ended up designing myself & made some mistakes. If could start all over again I won't buy so many S4 drawers cos they are really deep. I would prefer the drawers beside the kitchen sink cabinet to have 3 equivalent height drawer. Now is 1 S1+ 2 S4. S1 is rather shallow & can't put much thing in except cutlery, which I has allocated another drawer for it...

still haven't buy the dining light yet. Saw this (centre in the photo), should be quite match with our house right?

resume the story of basin tap. Plumber replaced the nozzle, but different type. Going to ask him to change again 'cos the water is splashing everywhere... If he didn't break the original one, it should be like this:

Some touch up to go through with ID tomorrow, one of it is this. Quite unsightly isn't it?

The other side of the swing glass shower screen door.

Today the floor is washed, house is clean. Can't wait to move back in. 5 more days... Glass panel at the tv console not up yet, T5 at the bottom need to be removed. The reflection is quite ugly. Ignore the color tone, the ceiling T5 light should be warmer dunno why capture in photo is white. Kitchen: Again ignore the lighting tone, The fixed panel glass bracket in both bathrooms shower screen. Is it normal for the bracket to be that thin? The fixed panel 'sway' when I close the door when the rubber seal reach the fixed panel.
-
Eh? The metal piece is not like this arh???
-
Good progress. Can ask u for ur shower screen fix panel, is it stable when u close the swing door? Mine will 'sway' a bit when the rubber seal of the swing door reaches the fix panel when closing the door. Wondering is it due to the bracket too thin?

Hmm the gate is original from hdb. Look nice from far but the paint is so thick that I would not like to touch it. Seems like going to peel off like that. If we are going to DIY next time, how to paint it har? Remove all the paint using turpentine first? If not keep on adding layers & layers it's getting even more thick. Hmm suddenly remind me of Eason Chan's song 黑白灰. Cos our whole house including the gate & wall color is black, white, & grey (plus a bit of wooden color) hehe...
-
U bought wall paper from TB? Going to install urself?
-
Is it more common to spray paint the metal gate or paint it? I find painting is quite thick...
-
Nice with the lightings on. Can share the dish drainer glass door how does it open/close? Parallel lift? Will it slam when closing?
-
We got the same kitchen wall tiles. Lovely right? It's very nice under the light.
-
Plumbing done. No wonder ID say won't be possible to do any drawer here. Like mrt track.

Iquartz up. Nothing special we choose the whitest white. There will be black glass backing & my kitchen will be just black & white...
